Math is hard when you graduated from TikTok University. Walmart has college over $100,000,000 from this scheme and paid out $3M. You probz still need a calculator for this, but trust me, Walmart still comes out on top.
If that’s the case, then every time a Walmart cashier accidentally overcharges someone, Walmart should be held criminally liable for theft of property.
@@pleiadesluciernaga8877 same with Walmart. It's called scanning code of practice. However, so many people try to claim it's a different price when it isn't but all it takes is going and checking
I saw this coming a mile away when I first heard of self checkout. We're not trained and there are so many beeps around you if something gets missed. That's alot of work and disabled people cannot go there anymore, it's just too far to the parking lot, through the store, loading, checking out, reloading your cart and a long walk back to the car. I'm glad she won! Sam would nevef have left us all in this position if he was still here.
The lawyer that won her case needs to find every single person that this happened to and file the biggest class action suit known to humankind. This is gross. 🚫.

I hope this practice is not still happening to people. They made over 300 million with this tactic. The fact that they falsy arrested her...is a crime in some states. I was working at Walmart as the asset protection a few years back when we escorted someone back to our office after a misunderstanding when the self checkout failed The lady was so very polite and went right back to pay for the missed items 2 days later I was fired for not pressing criminal charges and involving law enforcement. Mind you this was a single mother with 2 kids. Walmart will forever be a disgusting stain on retail.
That is exactly what happened to me! The cop didn't even want to arrest me but she didn't have a choice because they were so adamant about pressing charges over about $40 worth of food although the surveillance video clearly showed me scan every single item and the scanner messing up without me noticing. Smh so wrong that they are able to do this to people
Walmart has some nerve. They won't admit wrongdoing even after the trial, and say they have evidence, when they clearly don't. I hope the woman and her family can move on from this. Good for her for not giving in, even though it was a stressful process.

Walmart is not the only place. 3 places i worked at during a “team meeting” would remind employees to never admit any wrong doing., or fault. They would even tell us to never say “sorry” “my apologies” or anything along those lines when a customer is angry from being wronged. They do not want any liability for anything, even if they did do something wrong. They couldn’t care less. When there is a lawsuit, they will just put the blame on somebody else. Trust me, these people are heartless, and it shows. They’re parasites that only want money.

When you ask your customers to be your untrained cashiers, they’re going to make mistakes. Walmart needs to be held accountable for these horrible business practices.
Right, Americans aren't capable of doing these type tasks and one state knows it already and prevents self service gas stations. Laws should say all product exchanges in stores, gas stations, EV recharging as a payment card has to be used, purchase of tickets etc. should all be required to go thru properly trained cashiers that do whatever activities necessary, This will also reduce people on welfare due to the large number of people necessary and the great increase in employment will add lots of taxes to the governments while reducing welfare costs.
WOW!! this is an eye-opener. This could happen to anyone. I don’t think I’ll be shopping at Walmart anytime soon. Very scary situation. I’m so glad she won her lawsuit.
About 10 yrs ago, while shopping in grocery section of Walmart, I noticed a man seemed to be on every aisle I went down .. I didnt become alarmed until I left the grocery section to go to shampoo etc area.. when he showed up, across the store, going down each aisle I was on, I was alarmed ...I began looking for an employee and found 2 standing together.. I explained that I was being followed by some man and needed someone to walk me to my car ..right at that moment, the guy walked into view so I said "there he is!" and pointed him out ..they just stood there staring at me, not saying a word ...I said "um hello..that man is following me" and they said "he works here" I questioned this since he had no badge or anything identifying as an employee and why would he be all creepy and follow me? Again, they just stood there, with mouths slightly opened, and never responded to my questions. It wasnt until later that I found out the man was some sort of loss prevention employee... I still feel like he was a creepy guy. I will do almost anything not to shop at Walmart. I have panick attacks and Walmart seems to trigger them ...Im pretty sure I get them because of the horrid lighting, the big space but crowed aisles, the atmosphere is uninviting and negative. Its interesting that they withheld the video that would have proved her innocence, because this is something that government prosecutors do, and they get away with it. They withhold exculpatory evidence routinely, so that they can railroad people through the legal system and they do this because they have prosecutorial immunity. That needs to change. They can and have ruined many people’s lives with no repercussions, even after the person was found to be innocent. Sounds to me like Walmart is reading from the same playbook.
“We do not believe the verdict is supported by the evidence.” Do you mean the video evidence you refused to bring forth that would have shown she did not shop lift. What a bunch 🐕💩
The police do this all the time. Arrest innocent people and get away with it. People are forced to take plea bargains to avoid expensive trials. Never believe a criminal record.

They only go after people who are honest and truthful, but they don't have the balls to go after the thugs who rob the store blatantly. This is what Walmart deserves.

The manager asked which register I was on I told her. She reprinted my receipt. All items accounted for. Then they took my belongings returned them and told me I was trespassing. For all we know the rep may have hated his job and decided not to show. The accused did what any sane person would do and asked that the charges to be dropped. The court figured the Walmart rep didn't care enough to show so their isn't a case therefore ruled "not guilty" by default. I've noticed that over here in the UK our Walmart stores "Asda" overcharge for lots of items that you wouldn't notice if you weren't scanning the items yourself. They maker millions every year on these as well. This is straight up stealing from their customers so I have no sympathy for them when actual shoplifters steal from them.
Good for her. I used to manage an organization that would allow people to work off court sentences via community service. About half of them were Walmart shoplifters - one lady charged with less than $5 of makeup left in her cart, and once a bag of candy the cashier dropped and put in the bag without scanning. One young man was arrested for buying vanilla because he was too young to buy alcohol - it's in the baking section. Every one of them offered to pay for the items, but instead Walmart said no. I haven't shopped in Walmart since 1986 due to their predatory practices and will never step foot in another one .
They also promote their worst employees to store managers...who then treat both customers and employees horribly. I was accused of stealing at Walmart when I was 15. My brother just got his first pay check and wanted to get me something nice. I picked a beautiful white dress. He also insisted on stockings and shoes as well. They took us into the back room, dumped out my purse on the floor and then took our items out of the bags and threw them on the floor as well. When I said, “Aw my pretty little dress 😢” the guy said, “huh? This shitty little dress?” Then stepped on it and told me I could pick it up and that he’d wait. Obviously he didn’t find anything. Even after practically making my brother strip down! Then told us to leave and not come back. They sent me a letter to pay $300 or they press criminal charges. I was young and scared so I begged my grandma to help me pay it. Walmart is and will always be trash 🗑 In my mind, my money is hers now. I’m glad it’s going to good use. Even if it’s 13 years later
I’m very sorry that happpened to you. Hearing these horror stories of Walmart makes me feel good that my dad never took me and my brother to Walmart. We stuck to Kroger, target and fiesta. Walmart seems to be taking advantage of the anxiety people get when accused of crimes. It’s also funny how Walmart employees and security do nothing when a person walks through the door and the alarm goes off but love to accuse people who paid and have a bag and receipt of theft 😬
Having worked at Walmart a number of years ago I can tell you it’s one of the most backward, dysfunctional places I’ve ever worked, so much so that I seriously considered filing a lawsuit against them for several different management practices and behaviors. Glad to see this lady get justice.
Their checkers aren't very friendly but I can see why working for Walmart. They never have enough checkers and don't care if people are lined up to the middle of the store. If you have ice cream its melted by the time you get home.
I worked there too and nothing is worse for employee morale than 4 different assistant managers making rounds to your department and telling you 4 different things to do at once, all the while getting mad and threatening to write you up because you do not possess the ability to clone 4 of you to do the work on one paycheck. I quit while I still had my dignity.
About 40 years ago when my brother was 2 he took a pack of gum from the grocery store. My mom marched him back there and made him apologize to the store and hand it over. I think a store like Wal Mart probably would have called the police on him.
That happened to me, too! When I thought my son took a toy at Walmart, I did that as well. I thought the woman was going to call the cops on us, and I deeply regretted the lesson he got taught that day. They were assholes!
@@sgtmomOKit doesn't surprise me that they treated you that way even though you took responsibility for a wrong (or a perceived wrong). I mistakenly walked out of a Walgreens one-time with an unpaid item (the other items were paid for and it was just overlooked), and in a panic I headed straight back and told them what happened, and paid for it. Thankfully, Walgreens and Walmart are not to be confused with one another. The person at the counter appreciated my honesty and rung it up without any incident.
Have faith in JESUS CHRIST as LORD and SAVIOR for HE SAVES from hell❗️ *What is the Gospel?* The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Romans 10:9 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. JESUS CHRIST can come anytime! Just Believe ❤️ Love you and GOD BLESS
I got to remember that line. Defendant: "Your honor, we don't believe the verdict is supported by the evidence". Judge: "Please provide us with your evidence". Defendant: "We can't show you the evidence, you just have to believe us."
Exactly. This is just a side hustle with Walmart. Imagine with all the self checkouts folks who will bolster their bottom line as they have to use self checkout due to WM hiring less employees. Not only are they saving money, they’re making bank. Evil I reckon!
@@alexapuerta No. He is talking about the defendants. The woman, who filed the lawsuit against Walmart, is the plaintiff. The defendants (Walmart et al.) are the ones that refused to provide evidence to back up their claim that Nurse was shoplifting.
