As one who started on the coal face, who had a father who went to jail when I was 12, that killed himself when I was 19, who was on welfare etc. then rose to top positions in construction and had a successful business on the side, I loved this. I NEVER forgot where I came from and still enjoy getting my hands dirty at 73.

Yes, mindless anything is not desirable. Some smart, thoughtful action can be stimulating. Starting @36:20, however brief, they portrayed what could best be described as a car chase which culminated in some "action". I'm not clear how one may rate its mindless qualities.

Edward Arnold in the kind of part he was very good at: A captain of industry. John Agar always underrated and underappreciated by Hollywood, showed what he could do as a leading man. A solid performance by both.

Finally movies that teach values and morales! They certainly don't make movies like this anymore. I don't know why I like the old black and white pictures as an adult. Because I hated them growing up. But this one was a classic ! I almost didn't watch it. But once it started I had to stop what I was doing and enjoy this one till the very end! Thank you for bringing movies like this one to us. Imagine a movie with not one curse word in it and still its entertaining ! Thank you again

IN MY TOWN WERE I LIVE, IT'S THE THROWING OF "LAST NAMES" THAT MAKE PEOPLE SHAKE. GET TO KNOW THE PEOPLE LIKE THE SR. DID IN THIS MOVIE. I LIKE HOW JR. STUCK TO HIS GUNS. OH THE FATHER WAS REALLY GOING TO KILL HIS SON. WOW, WHAT A SCENE. AT LEAST THE FATHER FINALLY OPEN HIS EYES TO WHAT HIS SON WAS TRYING TO TELL HIM. GLAD EVERYTHING WORKED OUT FOR ALL. I LIKE B.W. Missed the credits, EA for sure, but was that Jeffrey hunter? John agar? Both exellent. Whatever, liked the flick, love Earward Arnold, in everything, blind detective Duncan Mclain 'eyes in the night' and ' the hidden eye', with Cary Grant, Frances Farmer and Jack Oakie, in 'the toast of new york', it was panned but very good. Mr. Smith goes to Washington, and in ' Meet John Doe', 'you cant take it WITH you', with Jimmy Stewart, Jean Aruther, Barrymore and ... Freedom ring..Rasputin and the emperess...Annie get your Gun...and a favorite Friendly Persuasion, with Gary Cooper, Dorothy Mcguire, Antony Perkins. Called the Tycoon of the big screen. Yes he was truly. Great!

My first encounter with Edward Arnold. What a screen presence! America has a very proud but probably somewhat unknown history of strikes and workers' revolts. Mr Compton Jr. had some strong lines articulating the ethos of dignity for all. Loved the way appeasement of the authorities was secured by dismissing the bad guys as Reds! Hold your heads up high, Mr McKay and loganlocke - very touching to see how you've been acknowledged. As always, thank you PizzaFlix!

When my husband and I got married we moved into his 8-28 foot travel trailer. The trailer had petunias all across the front of it. We moved that little home of ours two more times and at each of place the first thing we did was plant petunias. Even in the other homes where we lived. I loved petunias too so that was fine with me. And they smell so good!!! We married in 1963 and he died from brain cancer in 1975. I never remarried after he passed away. We had three children when he passed away. A daughter who was 8years old but turned 9 the next month. Another daughter who was 7 years old and a 5 year old son. I never remarried. I’m now 79 years old and I live with my oldest daughter and her husband. She plants petunias and other beautiful flowers and has a nice garden. 🌻🌼🌸🌺🪷🪻🥀🌹🌷💐🫛🫑🌶️🍅🥒🥬. 👵🏻👵🏻👵🏻😋😋😋🥰🥰

Every human being has within them the capacity to change, if they want to. Also it will take a lot of courage from a true friend/relative to point out the dark side of us. No matter how long a person maybe practicing wrong it is never too late for them to change from a lion to a lamb. This movie reminds me of another movie called PATTERN. When you're searching for a movie choice and see one that has Edward Arnold in the cast, go for it. The greatest role in his life is as the patriarch in "Come and Get It". Incredible performance. Like Edward G. Robinson, Arnold was blessed with great range as an actor. I don't think this film would have worked without him. John Agar was fine but not invigorating; a soft-spoken performance with not much heft behind it except when he interacts with Mr. Jinx and his daughter Jane. Their "falling in love at first sight" scene glowed. Susan Morrow was a lovely, gentle presence.

I have seen " come and get it" recently and I realized that this actor ( Edward Arnold ) is one of the most underrated actors at Hollywood golden era, he had an excellent talent to drama movies specially, even though since my personal perspective he struggled a few to perform at comedy movies but anyway he did a remarkable work. I cannot find similar actors like Edward Arnold at current Hollywood unfortunately.

Why, oh why, does Hollywood insist Americans really want to see movies full of violence, death and destruction, filthy language and nudity. The movie industry has singlehandedly lowered the standards of a good society to nothing but trash. And where is the acting talent in computer generated imaging? The public is force-fed the trash of today and good manners and respect for others is minimal. Keep making good movies such as this.

See _We The Living_, set in the early Soviet Union, for a story that takes communism seriously.

I wish all mean, nasty, evil, selfish "bosses" and business owners out there, and HOA would see this movie.

Show the lathe! And the chuck! This movie is highly suggestive but only teases one’s curiosity.
