My performance of, "Man of Constant Sorrow", by Soggy Bottom Boys, from the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou? I appreciate all comments. :-) All copyrights belong to their respective owners.
That was one of the greatest movies ever made. I got the sound track and wore it out, literally, listening to it. There was so much history, culture, and economics in the movie you really have to see it over and over. I just loved it.
Every time I see "soggy bottom" boys just cracks me up...!!!! this was a great movie & song first sung by Bill Monroe for those who may not know who the "original" singer responsible for this song. Sung at the Grand O'l Opry way back when it was a small stage. A lil' bit of history to add.
Stuck up north where they just don't and never will get it. LORD PLS HELP ME GET BACK SOUTH BEFORE I DIE HERE! THANK YOU JOE reminds me of home everytime I hear it and that is a great gift to give someone. GOD I MISS HOME.
I raised my girls right. They loved this and Monty python shows growing up. Not to mention all of mel brooks films. But these old songs ... oh they never get old and I hope all generations will keep them going
Went to a ⛪ and a man by the name of Brother Dave got up and took praise to a high level with his bluegrass. I don't get to see much bluegrass. It was God's medicine at that moment. Amen to Brother Dave🌈✝ Thank You God💖
1955, way down near Beattyville, KY the old folks often played Bluegrass on their porch, them was the days I yearn fer! George Clooney IS from Maysville, KY!
Was having a down time in life around 10 years ago. My sister told me to watch this. Loved the part where Jesus forgives and the boys reformed their ways
Come on in boys, the water is fine. I was just babtized along with my beloved brother who just passed. Unfortunately I still have that wild side eating at me. I'm pretty much staying strong.
Siri to reply, but I get to get is just playing around 134 and the latest was nothing nine years old. I wish you tell the truth you didn’t think it through as they think it was a total of three times it was nobody boys I wouldn’t do that And I don’t think we ever had for penetration I think I just use little thing things 😊😊😊
My Grandmother was full-blooded Cherokee, but I never got the chance to know her. Native American music and bluegrass are both very soulful and rhythmic, to which I can both relate.
You just earned a new fan!! I love this song! My son bought me the movie the first year it cam out on DVD and I have been in love with this song ever since!! You did an incredible job and I would love to hear more if you post anymore songs!!
Greetings and God bless our family and thank you Lord for protecting us this far !!!! Christina Mae Bush..Tammie Marie Miller...Desiree Ann Houghton...Cody Bush..

I am from Aruba living in the Netherlands and almost 30 and just finding out my voice goes pretty wel with country music and soul. This was a great cover man.
My Maternal Grandma was born in the Smokey Mountains near the town of Franklin, North Carolina. We travelled from Gastonia to the old homestead every summer for the Mincey family reunions on the top Ellijay Mountain. Some of our cousins were bluegrass musicians, and they put on a great show that got everyone singing and flat-footing. The Primitive Baptist church , halfway up the mountain, also had Homecomings yearly. The singing was "call and answer", as most early churches in the Smokies had but a few hymnals. All of the old folks have passed now, and many are buried at that same old single room church cemetery. That experience as a kid latched onto my very soul. I love Bluegrass! And I love the unique language of the Smokey Mountains... I'm missing my Grandma now as I write this! I'm looking forward to the Great Reunion we will have on the other side of Life.
@@JoeHesterMusic worked with a Jackie Hester at Freightliner in Mount Holly... I think her maiden name was Bentley. We both graduated from Ashbrook. Never forget your roots Brother!
As a fan of anything Bill Monroe, Soggy Bottom Boys, Vince Gill, Flatt and Scruggs, this was an amazing video and the cover is perfect in every way! I have the CD of movie, as well as the soundtrack from it so I can play in the car. It’s my “go to” set of tunes out of the 500 I have on my iPhone. Great job here! Keep up the good work and I’m a subscriber now!
Awesome! I'm glad to inspire your new-found interest in Bluegrass. If you get a chance, check out Dan Tyminski's "The Boy Who Wouldn't Hoe Corn". Dan Tyminski : The Boy Who Wouldn't Hoe Corn
Quel film superbe.. Je l'adore et même si je l'ai déjà vu des dizaines de fois depuis sa sortie je ne m'en lasse pas.. Il est passé hier soir à la télé je l'ai revu avec grand plaisir, 😊
In constant sorrow through his days I am a man of constant sorrow I've seen trouble all my day I bid farewell to old Kentucky The place where I was born and raised The place where he was born and raised For six long years I've been in trouble No pleasures here on earth I found For in this world I'm bound to ramble I have no friends to help me now He has no friends to help him now It's fare thee well my old lover I never expect to see you again For I'm bound to ride that northern railroad Perhaps I'll die upon this train Perhaps he'll die upon this train You can bury me in some deep valley For many years where I may lay Then you may learn to love another While I am sleeping in my grave While he is sleeping in his grave Maybe your friends think I'm just a stranger My face you'll never see no more But there is one promise that is given I'll meet you on God's golden shore He'll meet you on God's golden shore
