I scheduled this yesterday at midnight-ish and i forgot to add that i imagined quick transitions for this song like Encanto's opening number beause it has such a surprisingly upbeat rhythm LOL since the track was originally going to be toward the end of Act 2, I ended it with an older Odysseus returning to Ithaca, revealing that he's recalling his past throughout the song. ty for all the kind comments

Just based on the lyrics I fully agree with your ending interpretation. "Where is he? Where is the man who led you to wife? Where is he? Where is the man with whom you'll spend your life?" Both asking where he's been all this time, and if he can be that same man now again.

@@user-nx7ql8zu1p in the actual illiad, helen imitatated the voices of some of the people inside wives and odyssesus was pretty impressed with her, in the illiad she was actually the one who set him up with penelope, in return for him coming up with the idea of making all the suitors she didn't pick promise to not attack the one helen picks and to make an alliance to go to war with anyone who attacks them. ....which is what started the trojan war to begin with

The family tree part really reminded me of Emperor's new groove XD This is so well done! This is fantastic! The snappy transitions flow perfectly with the lyrics! I particularly LOVE the scene of Penelope rolling over, then it cuts to Odysseus facing the opposite direction-like they’re made for each other. It’s incredible!!!

I think it's "part of *her* family tree" meaning Helen's- Penelope was Helen's cousin through marriage. Helen was fathered by Zeus (likely non-consensually) through Leda, who was married to Tyndareus, and Tyndareus's brother was Ikarios, Penelope's father. On the family tree frame, there's a thunder bolt above one of the parent's heads showing it's Zeus.

I've got a question, the suitors argument was that Odysseus was dead and Ithaca needed a king but why wouldn't telemachas take the throne why would the suitor who married Penelope be more eligible for the throne rather then the son born of the royal bloodline?

It seems the suitor would've been Regent, until Telemachus could theoretically take over. However the suitors plans to kill telemachus, to replace him with their own man, to gain the Throne
