What they did was wrong, point, blank, period but we cannot live in a society where people shot first and ask questions later. Deadly force should only be used in life and death situation. I understand that the driver did not know it was a fake robbery but Scott was running away. Therefore, I hope the driver is charged and sent to prison.

@@jacoll2263 Statistically, we can live in a society where people shoot first and ask questions later a lot more safely than we can live in a society where criminals are called heroes and heroes are called murderers. Just look at your liberal cities' crime rates vs. rural America where nearly everyone is armed and they have no duty to retreat and tell us which is safer. There's no contest. As far as the hero knew, this was a life and death situation. The robber was pointing a firearm at someone threatening to shoot them if they did not comply with his demands. No way to know it was "fake." Did you know that you can turn and shoot a firearm while running away? That gun was still in the criminal's hand. He chose not to drop it. He chose not to put his hands up in surrender. He chose to run. Was the hero supposed to stop the armed thug from turning and shooting them by saying, "Please don't shoot us, good sir." Of course not! The driver was trying to save lives he thought were worth saving by eliminating a very real, armed threat. Turns out he might have been wrong about who he put himself on the line for, and that's the real tragedy here. Therefore, I hope the driver is given a medal and a key to the city because we need a lot more people like that bystander who took action and less people like you defending thugs who have no respect for the law.
