He's under house arrest because he's not able to run or hide anywhere and he is not a repeat offender nor is he a threat to himself or the public. He has not been convicted of anything so he is legally innocent until he confesses or a jury of 12 people decides otherwise. O.J. murdered two people by stabbing and was free before during and after his trial.

A person who would stab someone over 100 times doesn't just stop killing! Wonder how many more victims there are that we don't know about yet! And the fact that he could kill someone and have the nerve to be a pall bearer at HER funeral speaks volumes about how sadistic that animal is!! I don't care about his health or his age! He should have been kept in jail until his trial!
I don't know about that. If someone stabs another person 100 times it indicates to me that there was some sort of rage directed at that one person. i suspect the anger was very personal.

The scenarios that come to my mind are that he made advances and she turned him down; they had something going on and she ended it or refused to end her marriage; or even though he was friends with the husband, he low key hated him and was jealous and wanted to hurt him by hurting her. Maybe he'll tell the story since he's nearing the end.
O.J. and most others who murder someone in a fit of passion rarely reoffend. He was married and has never been accused of spousal abuse and as far as we know never even assaulted anyone.

ESPECIALLY while being under accusation for the 58 year old crime. Whether he did it or not he's going to be on best behavior to help avoid painting himself as criminal. Meanwhile the taxpayer saves money not having to feed & clothe him before he's convicted.

If the police would have done their job the taxpayers would have been paying for him to be in prison for the last 30 years and by that logic nobody should be jailed awaiting trial or after. I wouldnt doubt it if he kills himself before the 20th. Im just saying, they had the opportunity to put him away and nobody would question it so why not if the dna says its his, he is most likely going to be charged.

First of all, it isn't likely that this would be a murder 1 case as they have to prove premediation. Second, they have to have cause to keep him in jail until the trial - he is unlikely a threat to others in his current condition and not deemed a flee risk. If he died in jail pre-trial, his family could quite rightly sue the country for his death.

I totally agree that he belongs behind bars. The likely reason he isn't is due to the cost of his medical care. If he were locked up the state would be required to provide, and pay for the cost of his medical care. If the state choose not to do so then his lawyer would file a federal suit. Every angle is wrong.

Friend of victim's husband, apparently. Probably had a thing for his buddy's wife, tried to force himself on her, she refused him, and he made sure she didn't talk.
Usually such overkill is perpetrated by young people. The suspect was 22 years old at the time so it fits. Rejection to sexual advances plus the lack of self-control and heated personality of youth and that's enough to cause such damage.

The grandson is a new generation of people, as well as the new science and technology. He's the reason that innocent mother has justice. If he hadn't listened to his grandmother tell the story over and over again and then kept pushing them to look at the evidence again, nothing would have ever happened to get the mother justice.
Was it a blood type match or DNA match? If the former, I can understand (though don't like) that they don't have enough to hold him. If it's the latter, his health and age should have not factor in holding him in jail until the trial. DNA doesn't lie and he's been allowed to live free and clear for nearly 60 years.
Age and health should not matter. He should be made to stay in jail just like any other murderer. He has had a life while the one he took was cut short.
In another video the daughter said that 'people' always said he was the killer but there was no evidence, thanks to DNA and cops who were willing to look into the case it's been solved. Sounds like the police dropped the ball on this one and didn't revisit the case.

So what exactly did the grandmother say that resulted in the case being reopened? Did she name the killer? What is the relationship between the grandmother and the alleged killer? Either I’m missing something or this report left out a lot of crucial details.
