I can confirm what Stephanie said by security dress as clients. I work at JcPenney and we have about 4 security people who are dressed in casual wear and when they notice someone being sketchy they usually strike a casual conversation like "omg that's such a cute shirt, where did you find it?" and it is so fun to watch 😂

Intrusive thoughts tend to be a lot more disturbing and severe. Not that many people have them. It isn’t just ‘wanting to pop something’ it’s seeing a knife and convincing yourself you’ll murder your entire family. It’s so real and scary.

When I went to the Louvre the Mona Lisa was like the most disappointing thing I saw, esp cause there is huge painting right across. Also the amount of stuff that's clearly stolen from Africa and other places was just mind boggling.

Hey Steph I think there's a difference between intrusive and impulsive thoughts. What you described as examples are more commonly categorised as impulsive thoughts and intrusive thoughts usually pertain to hurting yourself or others either physically, sexually, emotionally etc. They're really really bad and people do struggle with them. (I'm not knowledgeable on the topic not do I struggle with them but I've seen people talking about the differences and thought you and others should know)

The difference between impulsive and intrusive thoughts has to do with desire. Intrusive thoughts happen when the thoughts occur but you both don't want to follow what the thoughts are and you have no desire to have the thought in your head but it won't go away. Impulsive thoughts are thoughts you want to have that you act on impulsively. I struggle with both.

Stores have loss prevention, and half the time they can’t/won’t go after shoplifters. It’s a huge problem in retail. There is something called, organized retail crime, and they will come in groups to steal. It intimidates paying customers, and totally pissed me off when I worked retail!

hey steph, have you considered talking about the case of Debanhi Escobar?, it's a really recent and well known mexican case but i think it hasn't been much talked about in the states. it will really help bring light to the case since it's remain unsolved and even tho they had so many sources and evidence they still don't know how it happened, it's a really interesting case.

If I had to choose between a kitten and the Mona Lisa while the building is burning, I’d choose the kitten. 1. Because there was/is multiple copies of the Mona Lisa that were done by Leonardo. 2. Because it’s already well documented and a kitten is a living creature.

Those examples are closer to being IMPULSIVE thoughts. They could be intrusive but intrusive thoughts are thoughts that just pop up randomly and you can't push them away

I like to tell my family about my intrusive thoughts. My niece and I especially enjoy telling each other. Recently, I had cut opene an avocado and I was sucking the avocado flesh off the seed.
