This is what separates United's atmosphere with any other. When they are in the mood they just never stop. Its not like Liverpool or Celtic where they give it everything for one rendition of YNWA and then nothing for 10 mins. Especially when United are doing badly the fans are always there. Quite unique and absolutely amazing !!!
Neutral Observer. This is a good atmosphere. There's no denying that. But this sort of thing happens once in a blue moon at OT whereas places like Celtic Park and Anfield produce much better atmospheres much more regularly. Plus, to say that the fans are always there for their team is just stupid. They booed their own player (fellaini) after he gave a penalty away...
Celtic's amazing 80's days of Rapid Vienna, Real Madrid and old firm games are gone. I know I was brought up in Glasgow and went. As for Liverpool just search on here for their fans videos outside Anfield. One complaint after another of poor atmospheres which they believe are caused by corporates and out of towners. When Celtic play Barca fair enough they turn up and sing but what has happened in recent years @ cup semi finals @ Hampden? Less than 30k in a stadium that holds 52. And what is Celtic's average attendence these days? It's nowhere near their capacity. What's Man Utd's? Always up around capacity whether it's Chelsea or Wigan. That's the difference James. Loyalty son. Very, very rarely you may get an incident like Fellaini although he got a standing ovation the following week but never anything on the scale of McManaman. The cries of "Judas, Judas, Judas" ringing around Anfield..................terrible absolutely terrible!!!!!!! Same for Michael Owen................ just NO LOYALTY!!!
TGSD CREW :- when they feel like turning up. I'd take loyalty over part time fans anyday. And before you get overexcited and spill your Guinness check out your average attendances over the last 10 years and attendances for Cup semi finals @ Hampden over the last 7 years or so. I agree that on one off games Celtic fans are great but they are part time fans and as such..... are pish!!!
I was there, sat in the East Stand. What an atmosphere, the stands were rocking as we all went totally mental. Giggsy’s 1000th career game (and he had a great game at age 39), Ronaldo’s return and reception... unbelievable! This is Old Trafford for me. This is what I long for. This is the life.
Why is everyone saying the atmosphere is crap, if you think so then you need your ears tested. I went to the pre season united v valencia game at OT the stadium was just over half full and the atmosphere from that game was brilliant
Damn same as me, i wanna go there near in the future! Like holy moly guacamoly even i'm watching from a videos when i hear the crowd singing and chanting, tears just automatically shedding out of my eyes! Goosebumps!
Best atmosphere I've experienced at old Trafford! Fucking mental, I was at the back of stretford end and couldn't even hear the champions league theme tune because of the U-N-I-T-E-D. Unreal
me too especially a big european night like this one but it will depend on who is the manager. for example when we played against bayern with moyes the atmosophere wasnt as good as this one. if we get into CL next season with jose and we are doing soo well in the league and we reach ko stages of the CL and we get a giant european side like barca, bayern or real madrid then the atmosphere will be electric like this one. thats the kind of games i would want to go to
Abdi, i went to both. The atmosphere against Real Madrid was slightly better but i think that was because the return of Ronnie and Gigg's 1000th appearance etc. If you come make sure you get behind the team and sing the chants to create a good atmosphere.
The Bayern game in 2014 had a very good atmosphere anyway - probs the same as Bayern in 2010. I didn't go to the Barca game but that was a semi final so of course the atmosphere would be better.
Cracking atmosphere wish I was there but sadly wasn’t born and sounds good on the video but imagine if I was actually there it would’ve sounded 10x better
I go to OT regularly these days and been going since the 80s in the days of the terraced Stretford end and tunnel and the United Road paddock next to the away fans.. The atmosphere was electric back then compared to today even though the capacity was less and the team no where near as successful. It's obvious to me what the problem his and my friend Who's a sound engineer as hit the nail on the head! It's simply the layout of the Stadium and fact that they have 3 giant 3 tier stands and a odd looking one tier stand! The sound from the two upper tiers escapes right over the top of the Bobby Charlton stand!!! Putting it onto perspective.. Imagine if the ground had 3 stands with two tiers and a total empty space where the Bobby Charlton stand is??? All the atmosphere would filter out of the empty space. Look at Anfield which it hurts me too say has an electric atmosphere.. 90% of that noise gets generated from the kop!! There smallest and lowest stand it then bounces and echoes off the huge surrounding stands and the atmosphere stays within the ground! Sort it out Glazers.. We know that it's all about the club making money for yourselves and paying the players huge wages ... but it's about time you gave the fans something they deserve - A stadium with an electric atmosphere, bigger capacity that they will fill.... O and more leg room 👍
same here i was in NW3434 the crowd was so loud, was mental and my nipper was a mascot, walked out with De Gea. awesome night, loved it when mourinho kept getting chants aimed at him then went and sat down. sit down mourinho, sit down mourinho, and obviously chelsea rent boy got thrown around a few times
Iwas at the game in NW3434 right next to stretford end, my nipper was a mascot and walked out with De Gea, return of ronaldo, giggs 1000th appearance and SIR ALEX's final champions league game as manager of united, historical night and the best night of my life (apart from the result), atmosphere was amazing one of the loudest on record at old trafford
Someone needs to show this to our boy Ronaldo before he joins City. The love he'll get at Old Trafford is something no other team or set of fans can provide. I just can't see him in the other side of Manchester.
Always get goosebumps when I see this game,5-3-2013 oh what a night as the song goes. Incredible atmosphere generated by BOTH sets of fans,I emphasise the word BOTH and the perfect result scored by man u/fa’s idol Ronaldo to round off a gripping and satisfying night of entertainment. Plus seeing Nani sent off was the icing on the cake which infuriated ferguson,snigger,snigger.14>1 Amen.
i was at the game, in nw3434 next to stretford end, was amazing atmosphere and nipper was a mascot and walked out with de gea. best night ever (apart from the ref fucking us over)
Was at the match myself, in the Stretford, unreal atmosphere fans were immense, shame about the result was a privilege to be there when Ronnie came home, was also at the barca game in 2008 which I think just pipped it, Roma 7-1 another fantastic atmosphere
im from Scotland but am a die hard man utd fan hope we beat city to look at their faces wish i was traveling down to watch the game at the theatre of dreams
the amount of times I have been to west ham away and out sung you is unbelievable. Even when you beat us 1-0. so don't even get me started on atmosphere.
This is brilliant atmosphere for a British team, in Europe the atnospere is much better the main reason being Is there's much less security, stewards and police officers to keep a watch on you meaning fans are encouraged to be wild which I'd love to see in the BPL, also in Europe the people are more volatile the culture is just like that they are more explosive people. In England the atmosphere was great in the 70's and 80's but there were problems with racism.
