so the main character is a skeleton with a blue eye that has some level of meta knowledge, teleports around constantly, and is absurdly op. hes just f*cking sans undertale.
I love that he finds out he's a skeleton and just fucking rolls with it. No major freak out, no panic attack, he's just "Alright, this is actually pretty cool!"
That's an anime trope/gimmick. Gutz has Puc, Ichigo has Kon, Ash has Pikachu, Gohan has Icarus. It's practically mandated for most anime. I find it annoying, my woman loves it. They're obviously playing to particular demographic of their audience.
This anime was a nice change of pace, Finally a protagonist who isn't edgy, isn't a creep who keeps slaves, doesn't have ptsd and other issues and is just a jolly swell guy doing his best to help others and have some fun in the mean time, it kind of made me feel like a kid again watching the old dragon ball in a way.
I've been pretty bored of anime for quite a few years now, but I remember liking the premise when I first came across this series, and basically the entire time just having this dumb smile while watching through the whole thing. Guy gets isekai'd as a literal skeleton, but approaches every situation like he's still playing an rpg and regularly gets excited about the fantastical nature of the world he's in. It's dumb fun and I love it.
I've read the manga and love how dam humble this dude is and the reason he's so OP is because in the game he really busted his ass because he had to fully master several other classes in order to get the Holy knight class .....and he does appear as a human for just a bit in the game after it's determined that his skeleton avatar is considered a human who's been cursed and the dude is a freaking lady killer in terms of looks
of course he is... all "Mary Sue" characters are the best at everything... including woo'ing romantic interests. This anime is trash with lazy boring writing.
@@warundying9079 Literally not true it refers to a character who's good at everything. An author putting themself into the story is called a self insert.
@@detectivewhocoulditpossibl6834look up the definition of a Mary Sue. Random internet hater don't even know what you're talking about or take 2 seconds to google something before trying to sound smug
If I had a nickel for every time someone was playing a video game as a skeleton and then woke up in the game as their avatar, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird it happened twice
I honestly really loved this series. It wasn't any "original", but it was original enough and the characters were so much fun and well put together, that it was most certainly a hidden gem!
This sounds like it took direct inspiration from Overlord, a Japanese light novel series that came out a full 2 years before this one's light novel. Not saying this one is lesser for it- it definitely takes the 'overpowered skeleton character' in a different direction than Overlord does.
The novel Skeleton Knight in Another World, the anime is based on is worth reading. It ends in volume 9. So it is a complete serie atm. Another novel I would like to see as an Anime is The Unwanted Undead Adventurer.
Idk why but I really feel like an overlord crossover with this series would be epic, this guy could lord ainz in game brother to his avatar as an NPC but realizes how nazarick conquers the other nations and how merciless the pleiades and floor guardians are to humans, ainz vs this guy would be an epic fight scene. I know overlord takes place in a video game but this anime can be in a video game too.
Actually they technically both have two different sets on in game skills ones a more combat magic and sword fighting but ainz is more of a magic caster sure he can change his class temporarily but pretty sure that was a one time gimmick if I were to say who would win I’d say ainz his magic is just more op
First off overlords not in a video game. How thay got there is the same the both fell asleep in a game and both woke up in a different world .his bild is also for RP so its not rilly that stronghe'sjust extremely experienced to the point is is op. And Ainz youes Ultimate Warrior a lot throughout the season his alias was his old world name Momuga I also fell that the match if thay were to vs each other it would result like ainz and shelters fight where he would have to youse all life is death to win.
Imagine u accidentally choose ur character as a skeleton years before and then u wake up in the game and met an elf and she helps u to become a human like before
@@VJ87G You're the only person in the whole comment section that mentioned Overlord. I am glad. I wonder, did you watch season 4? What are your thoughts on it?
Season 2 is rumored for 2024 ✅ GizmoStory: `Season 2 of ‘Skeleton Knight in Another World’ will launch in the first half of 2024, assuming everything goes as planned.`
Ark is Ainz’s polar-opposite twin brother. Ainz - can’t eat Ark - can eat Ainz - has no emotions Ark - has emotions Ainz - a lich/mage Ark - a paladin/priest Ainz - has red eyes Ark - has blue eyes Ainz - semi-evil Ark - good Ainz and Ark are literal polar opposites.
Ainz does have emotions, but has a suppressor whenever he experiences particularly strong ones, which, however, can be temporarily delayed/overrided from time to time.
I just found out there's an entire subgenre of anime where people are reincarnated as random things in a videogame where they level up and become extremely OP.
I would love to see a cross over with this and overlord see if the overlord would have him join him since, well they both skeletons and basically are overpowered.
Spooky, scary skeletons Send shivers down your spine Shrieking skulls will shock your soul Seal your doom tonight Spooky, scary skeletons Speak with such a screech You'll shake and shudder in surprise When you hear these zombies shriek We're sorry skeletons, you're so misunderstood You only want to socialize, but I don't think we should 'Cause spooky, scary skeletons Shout startling, shrilly screams They'll sneak from their sarcophagus And just won't leave you be Spirits supernatural are shy what's all the fuss? But bags of bones seem so unsafe, it's semi-serious Spooky, scary skeletons Are silly all the same They'll smile and scrabble slowly by And drive you so insane Sticks and stones will break your bones They seldom let you snooze Spooky, scary skeletons Will wake you with a boo!
I was a bit disappointed with the anime, as it felt too formulaic and convenient, but I liked a lot of the story details. Helped ground the characters and plot. Like how Arc is super strong, but still gets beaten by elf mom because he doesn't know how to properly utilize his strength. Just wish this happened against an actual threat, instead of just being used for comedy. Overpowered main characters don't necessarily hurt a story, as we've seen with many popular anime these days, but I think it detracts from this story overall. He isn't under any real threat of people finding out his identity, since as long as he keeps his mask on, no one can force it off. And most of their problems are solved with overwhelming strength, and no real strategy or moments forcing characters to confront their weaknesses. The politics seem really interesting, but the story is just so linear without much variation in pacing or tension. Still a lot of good points going for it, and no judgement if you enjoy it (I've enjoyed plenty of anime considered as "worse" anime than this one) but I find it hard to look past the missed potential.
@@The_Funniest_Cut I really wish I enjoyed this anime more, largely because I've watched PelleK on Yt for such a long time, and he did the op. And yeah, I enjoy pretty much all of the characters, each of them has some charm.
@@sjonnieplayfull5859 Wouldn't be the first time an anime has changed my opinion with a season 2. Would love to see it succeed. And then you could just retroactively go back and justify season 1 as the lighthearted fun to connect you to the characters before the "real" plot gets started :P
When I saw the protagonist teleport into the hallway standing there on 8:33 and teleport away like he was an npc that got stuck I burst out of laughter for some reason.
