It is not Chinese traditional clothing as per se. The ancient commoners working on lands and waters would protect themselves from rain. If you went to Lijang today, you would see elderly commorant fishermen in the same full traditional gear demonstrating their catch to the tourists. It's a rare sight now.
In ancient China, the language was very concise, but the number of word and font difficulty of Chinese characters at that time were far greater than that of today. Modern Chinese characters have been simplified several times. so , it is called "Simplified Chinese" right now
Lol HAHAAHAHA AT 1:29, i thought he can’t keep up with his role anymore that’s why he suddenly laugh but no, it’s just he’s more into it! Nice acting Chenyang😂
Not only did he wear the raincoat, he also spoke like an ancient Chinese man to fully complete the immersion. Absolute respect earned from me EDIT: 3:17 is the first time I've ever seen anyone in these videos walk right into the camera like she has, I don't think this has ever happened before, which makes it all the more memorable
Can you do the prank where he wears male hanfu and pretending he is doing time traveling from the ancient times, please?? It would be fun to see people reaction 😂
Love the traditional clothing. I'm sure Chenyang looks good in everything! Your editing is so funny. And that womans face when she noticed the camera 😅. Thank you🌺
The rain was good timing. Makes for a perfect plot setting. Did Chenyang ad-lib the "Good rain Good rain" part? This has the potential to be developed into a more involved plot, like another character also in traditional outfit appearing, and the two engaging in banter using old-style language, or even a sword fight.
Hahaha please make more videos like this! 😆 My idea: Dressing like Guan Yu( with his beard🧔🏻 and blade🗡) then searching on streets and asking people that he left Cao Cao and now he is trying to find the place of his brothers like: "Do you know where are my brothers, Liu Bei and Zhang Fei?!" 🤣
In the Philippines it's called "Salakot" an old Tagalog word that literally translates to "Leaf Hat". Salakot also goes in different styles. Though the more commonly used hat now is "Buri". Cool to see some similarities.
I would either think he is a) cosplayer or b) a time traveler 🤣 I'd most likely shrug it off as the former, like cool I wonder what convention he's going to... Until he starts asking where the ferry is or tries to buy stuff in taels 😂 Also, the editing is getting better and better 哈哈哈
I noticed that Chenyang does roles that requires courage haha. Playing music in public, singing break up songs to couples, and now this. Hahahaha. I admire his courage.
I would like to share that in Assam, a state of India 🇮🇳, the farmers while ploughing the paddy field wear a hat like the one worn by this man. We call it 'Japi' and it is almost similar in shape but it is a bit bigger in size. Amazed by the similarity in culture.
This is certainly the height of fashion during the late Qing dynasty! Made from double-dried straw and a hat thats actually woven instead of stitched... very impressive sense of style!
