Wow! What a blessing to be so close to the majestic bull elephants and the cow with her calf! I didn’t see any smiles while viewing these awesome creatures. I’d be smiling from ear to ear and then some. I’d also be telling them how beautiful they are in a soft voice of course. Breathtaking!

Fabulous sighting and experiences. Superb Guiding too. Your calm, quiet and relaxed manner reassured the Elephants. They knew you were there from quite early on. Beautiful. Thanks for sharing & posting this.

Absolutely a thrill to see elephants in their natural habitat so close up! But taking so many pictures of them..? Now if they stood up with the elephants directly behind them and took pictures..now THAT would be pictures worth taking!

Capturing good quality images of various animals is more valued than pics w humans in them, those are fun, I admit, but the purists prefer 'clean' images.

You just have to be more cautious. The elphants of Mana Pools are very placid..they are not hunted or harassed by humans, so tolerate us even when they have young.

I guess they will enjoy the pictures when they get home, memories of their safari. But it seems like a common animal to photograph...

The rifle is not for hunting and not for elephants. It’s not near large enough caliber to take down an elephant, especially at that range. That gun is for lions and Jaguars etc. that they might happen upon , if that happens and the cats decide to be aggressive and attack the guide will use it to preserve human life whilst limiting damage to wildlife.

I don't think they get many Jaguars at Mana Pools...And those rifles can and would be used on a charging elephant in extreme circumstances...

Instead of taking all these photographs why can't you do something for rejuvenating the forests so that they LL get more leafy food.see how they r struggling to get some leaves from the old drying trees.
