really great that you're working on #powerplatform governance topics. Just one thing I absolutely didn't like about this: "When you activate managed environments. All the #powerapps and #powerautomate #flows in that environment become premium". Imho, when you don't have a lot of governance settings around a topic and you push as much as the #PowerPlatform then at least offer it for free. You do that for #SharePoint, #MSTeams, and all other services. Why not the Power Platform? Other than that, this is great stuff!

Thanks for the feedback. All our customers have access to a broad set of governance capabilities today, such as data loss prevention policies, tenant-level analytics, the center of excellence starter kit for best practice templates. For customers who are all-in on the Power Platform, we are offering Managed Environments as an additional benefit of standalone Power Apps and Power Automate licenses to help simplify and streamline administration of the platform.

@@mspowerplatform DLP yes, Analytics not so much... at least not to the extent the Center of Excellence offers (though, I'm happier with the upcoming analytics). That's precisely where the gap is, imho. The CoE needs to be installed and maintained manually. And while I like the CoE Starter Kit a lot (and wouldn't want it to go away), I still believe the things you showed in the video should be made available at no additional cost. After all, you did mention "...to help simplify and streamline administration of the platform" --> which indicates there's a lack of administration capabilities for non-premium users.

I made one of our power virtual agents environments as a managed one and now the power automate flows created from PVA require premium license even though PVA license comes with power automate entitlement. Does that mean we would need to buy additional licenses just for power automate?

Sounds really good. There is one Question coming to my mind: What happens to custom SharePoint Forms (which are stored in the Default Env) when you enable Managed Environment on the default Env? Would that result in unusable SharePoint Custom Forms (if you don't have a PA Premium License)?

Good question. When you activate Managed Environments in the Default environment, every app in that environment - including SharePoint custom forms - will require a standalone Power Apps license for access.

Can this setiing also be turned off for a managed environment i.e. switching back to Unmanaged

Yes - here are instructions for turning off Managed Environments in a given environment: docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/managed-environment-enable#disable-managed-environments-using-powershell

Why the license requirements?
@mspowerplatform

Managed Environments provides additional value on top of our standard governance capabilities and, as part of the business model, will require standalone Power Apps and Power Automate licenses. For customers that are all-in on the Power Platform, Managed Environments is an additional benefit of these standalone licenses.

@@mspowerplatform Can managed environments be used with Dynamics 365 Team Members license?

@@mspowerplatform this is going to be a hard sell (and a hard no) for large enterprises. There is no way I am going to get approval for 20 thousand premium licenses just to have a managed environment. There needs to be some compromise here, another license level for managed that isn't as expensive, an overall cost to the environment that is not scalable would be ideal. Charge me $5k a month and I can plan and budget for that, charge me per user and make it my responsibility to manage that, no way.
