Management Said This RENTAL Home Was Ready For SHOWING, What Are They Thinking??

I saw this overgrown property and decided to locate the owner and ask him if he'd like a FREE lawn makeover. He told me that he didn't know the property was in this condition and told me that his management company would get a hold of me. I got the OK from management; however, during the service, one of the workers came to show the home to two families. What made it worse is that he told me that they've been trying to get renters in here for awhile now with no luck. I wonder why... How do you not feel embarrassed to show this home to new tenants?

A nice neighborhood with a house with a unkempt yard due to a management company just collecting the rent, and doing very little. Watch out for these companies if you use them because they do not inspect the properties kn a regular basis. Some of them do not arrange for outside maintenance. My uncle owned a house, and his employer transferred him overseas. He contracted with a management company to rent out his property. There were evictions for unpaid rent, lack of inspections, and a yard full of overgrown grass and weeds. We went to the next door neighbor, and spoke. The next door neighbor said he was sick and tired of it. He let us look over the fence to see a yard full of weeds up to your waist. We then contacted my uncle who then contacted the management company. My uncle then told us they asked him why was he even calling because they had everything under control. He told them there was a complaint received to him from the neighbor, and brother. They had someone go right out to cut the weeds and overgrown grass. It turned out my uncle was paying them all along to cut the grass and weeds. It turned out they were not. He fired the management company, and hired another one. If you use a management company for a rental property you may be paying for services they are not performing.

I would NEVER rent from that management company. If they don’t take care of the outside, they don’t take care of the inside. Thank you Fill….. once again, an awesome job!

If they do not take care of the outside, they won't respond if anything breaks or needs repairing on the inside. If the plumbing leaks or the heat does not work, they won't repair it. All they want to do is get paid to collect the rent.

I was coming on here to say the same thing. I understand these people are doing it for free, but most do this for a living. So doing a good job and bagging up the grass and hauling away everything shows others what a great job they would do if you were paying for the job. Great free advertising for your business. If you don’t bag and haul away, not very good for business.

If this is a rental property, and the management said it was ready for showing, that is a 'red' flag that they are bad landlords, and whoever moves in there will have their hands full. Also the same applies if they are selling the property, they are most likely dishonest. Great job. Ms. B. Churchill

I watched the video of this property on Fill's other channel. The management property guy that was showing that day just completely looked suspect and dressed in unprofessional attire. Massive red flag right there. I'd immediately get back in my car and never return.

I'm usually all for helping g people in need, but in this case I feel this is a poor manage.ent problem and they should have prepared this . I would not be wasting my time doing this so that some poor unsuspecting prospective tenant gets duped!!!!! Sorry

Simple solution. Once the property OWNER sees the video, he or she should fire that management company. No excuses for that unprofessionalism.

I'm thinking he didn't want to spend money or time on keeping it up. Who would have been desperate enough to have taken it on. What kind of renter one who would let it get worse. Glad for the neighbors that you rescued this yard. Excellent work you have done.. PS the manager should be let go.

Management companies kill me. I live in a condo and the parking lot has weeds and trees that need to be taken care of. The lawn care we have will only do that stuff if you ask them. WHAT? If I had a lawn care business and saw that this stuff was overgrown I would do that automatically. You did an amazing job on this house. Hope you left a card for these people or with that management.

It varies from company to company how they do things as well as what is listed in the contract for that specific property. From a business stand point I think they look at it as they only do what they are paid to do.

The condo is YOUR property. You might share a complex, but maintenance is your responsibility. If you cut a tree and people are pissed. Then move away. Or openly confront your HOA for having subpar tree/lawn maintenance.

Hi Fill. A long time ago, one of the biggest lessons I was taught was that, "If it had to be done, then do it." I had to change a fair number of dirty diapers in my time, (Figuratively!!) They were showing that property in that sad state? Me thinks someone needs an education on cleaning and staging, don't you agree? Well Done, it looks great.

I would be upset if I owned this and was from out of town and paying a management company to take care of this stuff. Was the owner paying for upkeep on the lawn? I guess you just always need to check in with the neighbors and see what is really happening. If I lived in town, then that is my fault for not checking up on them to see if they are doing what they should be doing. Good job making it so much better.

You've completed a very good job there Phil, thick grass can be very difficult to cut as it retains so much moisture. Collecting the grass cuttings in my opinion makes all the difference when mowing a lawn, presentation is everything. The work on this property looks a top class job to me Take care of yourself 😊

These management companies really don’t do their job. They probably are charging the owner for lawn maintenance. My brother had property in another state, was manage by a company. They charged him for lawn maintenance, my brother visited the property, and found the lawn was not being maintained. They are rip off.

I am going thru financial difficulties right now but when they clear up I am going to join 😁 I like the way that you don't leave grass, branches, trees lol behind for the homeowner or renter to deal with. If I was the owner of that property and found out that it was not being maintained by the supposed property management team …they’d be fired ASAP! Like what am I paying them for?! No excuses, just because house is vacant it should still be maintained !! Great job ! Property looks awesome now

I’ve worked as a Real Estate agent and as a homeowner I’ve never heard of showing a property in the worst possible light. That’s counterintuitive. Great transformation. You always do a great job. I had a neighbor who was in a nursing home for 10 years. When her grass got long, I would always cut it when I cut mine. I would cut her front yard before I cut my back, so I was caring for my house and hers at the same time. Didn’t get a penny from her kids for gas or time. I’m amazed at neighbors not looking out for each other! You are doing great work and are a Godly man. Thank you for your work!

Another 👍🏻 job from Fil’s. I live in a private association 🏡 which has a number in my area along with local council 🏡. I was 😊 when I came home 🏠 from ⛪️ to see the next 🚪 getting her garden cut. A young single parent had her uncle cut it. He lives further down the street. I get fed up with the jaggy brambles growing through the back garden fence. Quite awkward using the secateurs to cut it. The housing managers don’t bother nowadays checking these things. Useless

I am 70 and I mow 5 to 18 acre lots for people who do not have the means to hire it done. Most of them are older than me. I am healthy and have a John Deere 3038E with a 6' brush hog. I do some trimming, but the bulk of work is done sitting on the tractor. I say that to say to you, that at times it seems that it is a thankless job, but you and I know better. More people watch what you do rather than to hear what you say. The payback is a job well done, and the satisfaction that you made a difference in someone's life. Blessings to you.

I heard a train in the background at the 4:10 mark and it was really close! I think you were doing the lawn and tree work in a neighborhood closest to the railroad track! That’s what I like about watching videos of lawn care when I can clearly hear a train passing by! Also, good job on the yard makeover! I bet the neighborhood management was very happy with the way it was done!
