You’ve helped me so much in my walk with Christ as an adult. I grew up in church but it’s totally different when we undergo a spiritual transformation on our own regards. Thank you for everything 🤗
My bad money habit was being stingy as well and not tipping just a very scarcity mindest, but ever since my relationship with God and learning that he is the God of abundance, I am more willing to give. I am now starting to tithe, save and budget my money. Thank you for making this video because it is really needed for the times we live in😊.
I was just repenting telling God I messes up his money and I will do better. And started studying new budgeting ways to get things back in order and your video popped up!! Thank you, Let's me know he hears me loud and clear!!

Bad Habit I'm breaking = Impulse Spending/Emotional Spending/Frivolous Spending Good Habit I’m Keeping = Benevolence Funds to bless others, & paying down debt, minimizing use of credit cards except strategically (air miles & Costco rewards)
This was so great! My bad money habit was that I would spend too much helping people. One day I got tired of never having any money and I took it to God and I believe He showed me I wasn't being a good steward of my money because there's a difference between helping and enabling. I thought giving to those in need meant I was stewarding well but the thing is if you're giving to the same people over and over again you aren't. You are pretty much becoming their ATM and blowing God's money. I had to learn there are many ways to help others that don't only consist of giving all of your money such as teaching and helping them create a budget, researching local resources they can use and presenting it to them, volunteering to watch their kids so they can accept a better paying job etc. SO many options. Giving money is definitely fine but there is a such thing as giving irresponsibly and that's what I had to learn and what I had to go to God about.
Hello Melody. Thanks again for another word of wisdom. One bad money habit that I had to break was attaching my worth to my low bank account. As you've mentioned because of the society we live in, it's easy to feel like you're not enough if you don't have XYZ. However, I've come to realize and know that God is my source and provider, and not the job ( although I need one ), and HE provides for all my needs, therefore I lack nothing. The second one was spending more than I made. This was a tough one to break. God made me see what I was spending my money on was for things that I didnt need, just wanted. He showed me how to be humble and minimilistic. Doesn't mean that I cant have things, but I learned to weed out my wants from things that I really needed. Things have changed drastically in the past few years and Im more intentional with what I spend our money on. I also stopped inpulsive buying. I had a bad habit of buying things that I really didnt need or even thought about buying, but because I saw it was on sale or bargain, I would buy it just in case, and then never used it! Such a waste! Thank God I dont do that anymore. Thanks again, and have a great week!
One major habit that I had to break was in understanding that everything I have God has given me and He has given me enough! Finances used to always be an area that would give me so much anxiety and worry but it was because I was trying to prevent something that hadn’t even happened. Instead I know put my faith and trust in God! I’m so grateful for the grace and wisdom that He has given my husband and I! Loved this video and this word!❤

Bless you As a single mother (my choice, God's grace) I've always been hesitant to tithe when I feel things are "tight " .I know God has been and is still working on me in this area because He's never failed and I know He never will. Pray I trust Completely 🙏🏾🙌🏾
I used to feel scared to tithe too but I'm not a mother so your fear is probably different than mine. I wrote you this really long response about what helped me but I erased it as it was lengthy. But, in the beginning tithing is scary, however, build your faith by building your relationship with God and tithing will eventually be less scary (it was for me). One reason is because I grew to know that God will ALWAYS have my back and He's proven it to me. Also, the closer you get to God and the more you get in your word you realize God isn't a liar. If He says he will provide for all of your NEEDS He will. Also, budgeting helps too haha. I'll be praying for you :).
Just want to tell you I'm in similar circumstances, I'm recently learning to do this and grow my faith over fear. Listennnn. when I say there are miracles waiting on you that you may not even be looking for??? I'll encourage you to keep your relationship with the Father, Son and Holy Spirit paramount and seek the kingdom of God first. God loves to bless His children and knows what we need before we even ask. Sending a prayer up for you! And I'm excited for your breakthrough to "level country and into the land of uprightness" (Psalm 143:10)!!!
This was right on time. During my alone time with God I told him I will write down all my spending and start tracking how and when and what I'm spending on. I need to cultivate that habit. And I need to break spending more than I make 😭

I literally just told myself, "Girl , pay some money on that dang credit card bill and stop playing with GOD😅 so I did!!! And then came to RU-vid, and you are the first video in my feed. I love the Lord , I love God, and I love you, Jesus. And I appreciate you so much, Melody ❤
I have a really bad habit of spending more than I make. I really want to get into the habit of creating a spending budget. This video has helped me to do just that! ❤
One of my money habits it’s not tithing, because I’m always like “ how can I give my 10% when im not making a lot right now .” But what I do need to realize that isn’t up to me to worry about; it’s not mines and I owe it to god.
Always having to have my nails done and now they are more expensive than they have ever been so I found a website they have some pretty sturdy and beautiful press on nails so where I use to spend $20 or more on my nails I’m spending a dollar for the nail pack like maybe no more than five dollars so I save there.
That's true, God is our provider and that alone involves money as provision. I want to grow myself in this area and trust the Lord, I hope to share my experiences too on my channel, you're an inspiration ❤❤❤
I have a personal budget meeting with me, myself and I every wednesday and Saturday. I know how much money I have at any given moment. Also, I try my best to stay away from credit cards, if I don't have the cash money then I don't buy it. I will wait and save up if I really want it and by then honestly I have forgotten about it.
My bad money habit was always eating out everytime I went out and got money . My replacement habit for it is exploring in my kitchen and making most of my craving from home . I also had a problem with spending alot on clothes but I decided to take sewing class so I can remake anything I want to see in my closet . Not only is it a profitable skill ,it's a good money saving skill and generational skill to teach the younger ones in my family.
You know the crazy part about the rich ruler? He was suppose to sell his possessions meaning he wasn’t even gonna be down bad. He still would have had a return. He could have just bought new stuff if you really think about it. He didn’t love his neighbor like he said. He was self righteous. He responded as if Jesus said give all your possessions away for free which I think is wonderful to do if you have it like he had it. It just shows where his heart was.
I know life gets tuff but it’s been super hard. I trust in you Lord Jesus but I’m losing hope. Please hear my prayers Lord Jesus. I’m constantly faced with financial hardships and can barely support my children. I’m a single mom. My husband passed years ago. Both of my sons are special needs and are on the spectrum. I’m overwhelmed at times. My boys require so much from me. Since covid I can’t seem to get back on my feet. I lost my job for declining the vaccine. I declined because I suffer from heart disease and I also have lupus. Since losing my job I’ve been struggling to support my children. I’m now waitressing and I’m grateful but I’m not making nearly enough. JESUS HELP me. I’m CRYING OUT TO YOU. I’m tired! Struggling to buy groceries. Struggling to pay rent. Struggling to pay for babysitters. It hasn’t been easy. But I know Father God doesn’t give us more than we can handle. I know all things are possible through Jesus. I WILL KEEP FAITH. No matter how hard life gets. FAITH OVER FEAR! I believe Lord I’m waiting on a miracle! ❤
I got you sister I am also single mum and is so hard some days -I do know that God has strong call on me to do my own business -but everyone around is putting pressure-I truly struggle financially but I do know I will make it -our Heavenly Father look after us no matter what …I also like to share -that’s some time ago put us in financial trouble I still believe is good to be generous but we need to look after our families first ❤️ Stay strong sister I pray for you 😌🙏🏼💗
BAD: overspending & overindulging on unhealthy food which quickly adds up. GOOD: denying myself by giving money to the homeless/poor & also cooking meals for them. giving to them is me giving to Jesus Christ
Stop borrowing from my loan [the loan hat was to help build credit but it kept me living paycheck to paycheck]! I was spending more than I had at the time because I was using up this loan and paying it off with all my checks instead I started the want need rule… do I need this? Can I afford it right now? Don’t need it, can’t afford it: it can wait! Saved the money I was spending from my checks then boom! My credit skyrocketed because less % was spent I had money in my account, saved my checks and turns out I didn’t need none of that stuff I was spending money on… who knew?!
So basically spent more than I made and I created a budget plan with deducting from my check the bills, a certain % for groceries a certain % for savings and a certain % for tithes and pay myself…
5:24 thats my biggest flaw. I grew up in a pretty affluent home when I was a kid and it was very hard for me because I was very spoiled unfortunately and I got everything I wanted in my life. After my dad passed away and my mom lost her job. Things kind of changed her. I was so used to this luxurious lifestyle that I saw that I couldn’t understand how to steward my money. I need to work on that. Because I like really nice things not like Louis Vuitton nice but like food I love healthy food and organic food and its wayyy expensive to be healthy. So i have a stuggle between.. do I eat healthy and pay more to stay healthy or do I get cheaper food but regret it later because my body will be affected by it?! Thats so hard for me.
I am new to your channel, and abundantly blessed thus far. I have spent basically this entire Sunday morning watching all your youtube videos. I am in need of a church home. What church do you attend?
This is just confirmation that I made the right decision as far as the financial firm I am with! I already knew it was God ordained anyway but this here really confirmed literally everything we help our clients with! Your videos have really been helping me and I just thank you for allowing God to use you sis❤
Im in a work in progress in handling my resources. Had been in a rought time and with Gods help. He is healing me and changing me. 😊 Thank you for this wonderful video! 😊
Bad habit back in the day was overuse of credit card. Now I have a reloaded credit card where I can only spend what I’ve deposited on the card. The amount on the card is what I can afford to put on the card so I only spend what I have. Amen
Bad habit was spending to keep up with the latest trends. Breaking it by doing the 100 envelopes money savings challenge instead to save and invest in the right things. Thank you for this video. It opened my eyes to a lot that I didn’t realize before! Blessings to you and your fam!💕
I have a very unhealthy relationship with money. I truly trust in God and that He will always provide for me but I have a bad habit of spending money that I do not have. I am getting better with budgeting but I still have a long way to go! Thank you for this video 🙏🏾
Tithing 😇 and keeping my money stingily 👿 I took time to realise it but when the change occurred, I felt God was really caring for my finances and also for my spiritual health. Wow! That is so amazing to see how much, in fact, the Bible teaches us about keeping our financial resources safe and to take care of’em. I feel, over the centuries it was demonized in churches. While irl, God has never been against that. Indeed, what kind of loving God could willingly omit or prohibit the « money area » while knowing full well this is so essential for His beloved creatures? Not Ours in any case 🏆✨
1) Breaking the habit of overspending. The Lord has been working on me to be a good steward for the past few months and to get things in Order. I’ve created a budget and I’m tracking where all of my money is going. 2) gettin out of debt as fast as possible so I can be a Lender, not a Borrower. I’m the Head not the Tail. 3)learning how to invest to multiply my talents. *Opening a high yield savings account. *Taking classes on how to buy /trade stocks
can you please, please, please do a video on being an early professional and navigating that with God? I am not sure if you've done this already but I would love some guidance on that and also having humility during that time - working unto God and not unto men and people pleasing them. as for a habit i'd like to break...spending money on ubers when i can take other forms of transportation :/
Ooohweee i can very much relate to this! Delaying the swipe has been so helpful for me or like adding a bunch of stuff to my cart but waitingggggg 24-48 hours to actually purchase!
I would say my bad money habit is forgetting to do my monthly budget sometimes. I will make sure I put it on my To Do List and calendar with notifications so that I will not forget a month anymore. I feel unorganized and unprepared when I don't have it done for the month. I also need to work up the courage to invest.
This video is on time for me because this month I have decided to start having good money management skills. I've made a budget and I'm determined to stick to it! A bad money habit I'm going to have to break is ordering lunch from Uber Eats when I'm at work. A good habit I'm replacing it with is buying what I need every month to pack my own lunch. Thanks for the great video Melody!
I disagree with tithing. I believe strongly in grace giving. (2nd Corinthians 9:7 and following) Too many pastors emphasize tithing but we are not under Jewish law anymore. I give what I can when I can; I really hate preachers who demand everyone tithe, even if they’re unemployed and broke. They really define the words “false teachers”.
When I started my first job in March this year I already had a budget in mind and as I started getting paid and spending I have been auditing my expenses. I’ve realized so far that I easily spend money on food and coffee and definitely need to cut down on that 😅. Also, I am still unsure about investing in stocks but I have felt a heart change towards investment overall and I think investing in property may be more of my speed than stocks. I loved this video. I have been praying that I be a good steward of the financial blessing I now have and how to do it so this was much needed!
Hi! I am new to your page and wanted to first say….WELL DONE SIS! The question that I have is what channel do you suggest to watch for investment? I am usually hesitant when it comes to all the ads (and quite frankly overwhelmed) and I don’t know who to start with in learning from when it comes to investing. Please advise. I love your page this far and I am enjoying the Bible studies. So glad God lead me here. Blessings to you ❤
My bad habit was assuming I had time to save money; I’ll just spend this and that and the next time I’ll start saving. Didn’t know I was going to quit my job the next week smh. Always be prepared because we never know when the job will last. When God wants you out he wants you out lol. Prepared or not. Now I have to save. I have to have at least $5 in my savings. I never want a $0 balance in my savings. I never want a $5 balance neither; but life happens.
Hey Sis, thank you for this video. All your videos has really been helping big time and now yes unto investing and breaking the habits of reckless spending. God bless.
Love this video 💗. I always thought that the more money I made the more I could spend but thats foolish of me! One good money habit I have is I’ve always been giving! I just need to incorporate tithing. But I’m a shopaholic !!!
Our needs are bigger then income so it’s impossible to budgeting if I know that anyway we will face struggle ..obviously I do know that I need to put in work to change that ❤is pretty hard to bounce back I still support ministries ,church and few charities ❤🙏🏼 I know better days are to come 🙂 Truly I think I had to face that situation as I used to safe money at all the time I was scared to spend it ,anxious and attached to it ..that wasn’t good . I pray for prosperity but first of all I pray for wisdom ,guidance and good heart ❤️
To add to this, we need to be giving to the poor since it honors the Lord. (Proverbs 14:31) and He will fulfill His promises in Psalm 41:1-3. Remember in the story of the Sheeps and the Goats (Matthew 25:31-46) in which giving to the poor was the equivalent of giving to Christ. I don’t tithe since no one is a Levitical priest (Numbers 18:26-29) and neither is the church, however according to the new covenant (Romans 8:14-17) Christ is the eternal priest (Hebrews 4:14-16), the church (1 Corinthians 12:27) and Jesus is also God (Colossians 2:9), henceforth we are honoring Christ by giving to the poor. As for the 10% concept (Malachi 3:10) you’re sparingly giving and as a result you will reap sparingly (2 Corinthians 9:6). Lol I’m not joking giving 11%+ will make you see some wonderful things from the Lord. There’s nothing wrong with giving to our physical church to expand or rebuild however if you had the choice of giving the money in your purse or pocket to a poor man you met while on your way to church, from the information I have given you, what action will honor the Lord? As always great video ❤
Definitely feel convicted, I just finished reading Know Yourself Know Your Money. I invest and manage my money pretty, however, struggle with giving. Mostly because I don't know where or who I should be giving to, I don't belong to a church so don't tithe. How don't I know where God wants me to give? I'm open to any suggestions.
My bad habit to break is always spending growing up I just wasn’t taught to count what I spent just spend I use to blame it on my zodiac sign oh I’m such n such & we spend & that’s not good. What I will do is get back into investing & tracking what I spend❤️
Can you pray for me please. I got some test results from the dr this week and something showed up. I have to have more tests next week. I have a beautiful wife and baby on the way cant imagine not working. Money is already bad. Can you Please pray for me.🙏
So this is my dilemma, and I would love some advice on this, because I have some issues with my flesh versus my spirit. I have such a hard time like holding onto money. because every time I have money after all my expenses are paid and I have my savings and everything I have this I have this thing where I cannot keep or hold onto money. I always have to like give it away or donate it to charity or like spend it on some thing trivial a lot of times. I have this huge fear of greed, because greed is a sin and I’m always so afraid of having more gluttonous with my money, but I’m not sure how to like not fall in the trap of where it says in the Bible of you cannot serve two masters. You serve God or Money. So i know it is okay to be abundant and have wealth but not to Idolize it. Like I know when I die my soul isnt taking my money. So how do you have abundance without being greedy? Like basically I Over give and dont know how to live beneath my means.
Being stingy and being afraid to spend money. God is delivering me from a poverty/lack mindset. In terms of a good habit, I don't spend any money on my card until I pay tithe.
This is helpful. Thank you. I felt a healthy sense a shift in watching this a help in my maturity growth that I need. So just will love to thank Jesus thank you Jesus for leading me to this video as well
I need some advice in tithing, how do I choose where to tide? I don’t belong to any church as a new believer, and as somebody they just moved to a new city would tithing to a organization count? Or does it have to be a ministry, church?
A bad habit is that I am super stingy with money. I OBSESS over my budget and cranking numbers. I think my biggest take away is that I need to trust God more with HIS money 😂🫣 Also I like the idea of investing. I’ve been thinking about Money Market accounts so I think I’ll start there and do some research. Thanks so much. This was amazingly helpful! ❤❤
My bad money habit was shopping way too much and spending way more than I should. But I stopped doing that and now I save and now that I came across this video I want to invest. But I do not know where to start.
I had to break my toxic relationship with spending. It wasn’t on one specific thing I was just shopping for unnecessary stuff. I used to look back and wonder were did my money go. It would make me feel so bad to have no account for were my money went and I had bills to pay. so I had to stop that cycle I started with a Financial fast and it opened my eyes to how much money I was wasting. From there I created a budget and now have a plan for my money so Everything is accounted for. I couldn’t imagine my life with out it now. 🙌🏾
I relied more on using my credit cards rather than my own earnings and budgeting. My focus is and more to eliminate debt so there is financial freedom and be able invest my time to my future wealth and investing goals.
I wanted to get into investing for a while now. But I still don’t really understand how it works. I also want to make sure I invest in something legit. Sadly I don’t know anyone that invest or have any knowledge when it comes to investment.
Can anyone recommend faith based accounts that double as a finance/budgeting account? I want to learn better finance habits and how to budget etc but In a Godly way
Thank you for this, Mel! Being a good steward of my finances has been my heart's desire since I was young! I am in the process of finding a way to track every dollar that I spend. I took a crack at it over the weekend and.... let me just say, I want to be less expensive, haha. Thank you for dropping these gems and suggestions. I will continue on this money journey and not give up easily! I need to 100% work on not overspending...
Your video came at the perfect time. God has blessed me with the ability to budget and invest. I stopped tithing years ago but since this video, I have readjusted my budget to include tithing. I have to remember this is God’s money not mine.❤❤❤
Hi Melody! Thank you so much for another great video❤ One bad money habit that I had and am slowly unlearning is spending more than I have. I used to do this a lot when going out with "friends". I would spend on items for other people, be it drinks, food etc., even though they'd never actually need it (& probably wouldn't ever spend on me the same way). I know that generosity is a great virtue, but in these instances I admit that it was my pride taking over because I didn't want to seem like I couldn't afford or was poorer than my friends. I was also a huge people-pleaser then and the money was always at my disposal with no immediate need. Even though I'm only 20 and still living with my parents (so I don't have to worry about lots of basic needs), I still make an effort to curb this spending desire by budgeting especially for long-term goals I have, and limit any unnecessary purchases or going out. I also make an effort to contribute the little I might have to the family budget to take some of the weight off my parents. Lastly, there's this quote I heard years ago that shifted my perspective on money, particularly before I purchase anything that I would consider a luxury item - "If you can't afford to buy it twice, then you can't afford it".
✨Bad Habit✨ *I notice I spend more then I make at times ✨Good Habit✨ * I learned the importance of tithing and giving back to God what he blesses you with!
