Keylong is the land of magnificent monasteries, incredible mountainscapes, scenic vistas, unique culture, warmest smiles and finger licking Lahauli food. So as soon as the first snowfall of 2020 occurred in Lahaul, we set off to see this white winter wonderland. Our Lahaul trip was from Manali to Keylong (Lahaul) in winter after heavy snowing in Himachal Pradesh. We headed via the new Atal Rohtang tunnel to Keylong the district headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti. I must admit this is undeniably one of the most beautiful drives not just in India, but the entire world. Keylong located at an altitude of 10,100 ft overlooks the serene Bhaga river. It is an oasis of greenery lined with willow trees, gurgling streams and snowy peaks. Keylong is also the hub of all commercial activities with a regular bazaar, post office, telephone exchange and police station. There are a few small hotels and homestays in #Keylong for visitors headed this way or to #Ladakh.
