One of my favourite airports. I hope that the new terminal will make the whole experience much easier for the passengers. And will attract more airlines and new routes.
i wonder if they are joining terminals 1&2 together without that skyline walk from the station and terminal 1 and just making one link rather than the current 2 as it would be a lot better if its just the one because the videos of the transformation that's been shown so far as to how terminal 2 will look doesn't show any of the skyline walks
It seems this redevelopment is happening fairly quickly with a large amount of steelwork already in place. I hope this is ramped up so it can be completed early as terminal 1 is in awful shape due to years of under-investment in order to buy up other airports and terminal 3 is so cramped it's like using an airport in the third world! Only T2 was half decent but felt like it has been stuck in the 80's even when it was built in the 90's
Peter i They won't change T3 especially considering that's Ryanair's terminal. Landing fees will go up and low cost carriers will stop going. No low cost carriers, no airport development.
ConorHDGaming Frankland BA, Air France and American Airlines all need moving out now if it's meant to be a budget terminal as I have been stuck in their with all of them oh and Aer Lingus
T2 parking a joke, arrived and drove in. Very few spaces, drove around and around it was gridlock. No signs or I couldn’t see them directing me to the entrance. Someone guided me and then I proceeded to walk a very long way to the terminal. Encountered many frustrated Taxi drivers who where looking where to pick up the passengers. And now parking charges have increased.
Why was it, then when I saw the building in the background being demolished all I could think about was when someone cuts up a Yule log 😂😂 I think I’m hungry. 😂😂 2:48
So many people travelling and, will escalate over the years to come, in fact one day no airport hoWeber large will be able to cope!! how abt another 50 years? what solution will be found?
You want to stop building car parks and start sorting the the road works out. Awefull experience bei g picked up early hours the other morning. No street lights and no where to stop to get your bearings to find t3. But hey it makes you money yeh
What government backing? As far as I can see, the money came out of a combination of £800m of private loans and £200m from various Greater Manchester councils raised by imposing inflation busting rises to Council Tax. All secured against future revenues from ripping off travellers via increased drop-off charges, car parking charges and landing charges. It’s obscene that Councils have an asset worth billions, and they’re pleading poverty to justify raising Council Tax to their hard pressed residents.
your title says Manchester airport transformation time lapse feb 2018, so why have you included monarch aircraft? when we all know they went out of business last year, and you also included the erection of the temporary boarding gates and the terminal 2 building when we all know that the gates are no longer standing, so with your title you should have only shown the site preparation for the new terminal building and roads not include things that had gone long ago otherwise this is a great building and could do with seeing a more up to date one of the terminal and in normal speed/time not time lapse as that spoils it
The intro quite clearly says from June 2017, when the re-development started. Stop making it out as if it's a massive abomination that Monarch aircraft are in the pictures. Just because they went bust doesn't mean they didn't exist when the shots were taken. It's a long process, chill the fuck out.
When are you ever happy with this airport? When is there never any stupid, pointless redevelopment? It's nice as it is. It's practical and works. Disgusting amount of money. There are people with nothing. It makes me sick.
Disabled parking moved to accommodate emerites exec chauffeur Car.parking charges increased 100% while a available spaces for.taxi pick-up decreased by 75% horrible airport with disgraceful owners
MAG has contributed 7.1bn to the uk economy and infact the expansion will double the number of jobs to 40k. It also is expected to double paxs to 55 million a year making it the second busiest in the uk. Well worth it in my opinion. And likely a lot been invested by the Australian stake holders IFM.
blue 747 now that would be a waste of money defo. A thrid rwy is really needed at heathrow which even when this expansion is finished at manchester would still have 25 million more pax a year. They just need to sort the taxi ways out at manchester to make full use of the second and then its fully future proof for a long time
In the top 5 worst airports in the world. Customer service is terrible getting in and out bad and they even charge to use the carts for your luggage it's a disgrace.
