Solskjaer is the first player to walk in... Just a nice smile and a handshake... Nothing else. The humble, unassuming hero who made Man Utd. victorious that historic night...
nicky butt was a workhorse that night, properly stepped up. i was gutted for henning berg not playing, he was another player that played out his skin towards the end of 98/99. and the only winger on the sub bench was johnathan greening. and they still won lol.
@@seanfitzgerald8575 he had one of those darren fletcher type games. where you don't notice the work he puts in. i wish we could retrospectively get player cams for old matches.
@@mowvu5380 what an idea ... an the young kids would learn so much it.. but it would give away tactics i believe can u imagine PEP hed b watchn 15 hours a week of each teams individual player cams th creep lol ... but I bet he would pick up a few ideas from them all
ole was the first man to walked in and hugged Sir Alex. That is the hug of destiny, I hope that one day Ole will lead us to the Champions League again.
I am so glad Sir Matt was the manager the first time we won it. He was the pioneer for English clubs in the European Cup. So cruelly denied in 1958. Before the game, Brian Kidd kept saying "We've got to win it for the boss." And they did.
I was watching this alone as a Man Utd fan with a friend and his uncle, and they are hard core liverpool fans, you should see the smile and their fake comfort as if they were sad for me:))) then we scored that famous goal from OGS, you should have seen their faces and the stunned moments they went into. That was the best knight of my Man Utd fan moment ever haha. Man Utd forever:))
Connor Jones Yute Hube What I mean is in the context of things, MUFC winning the treble, the way they won it. Greatest moment in European Football. Obviously I think LFC's is the best, I still get tears in my eyes when I watch the pen shootout of 2005.
Priceless. I was working in AnE that night, backwards and forwards to the TV in the waiting room for updates. It took me back to '68 ...... Oh what a night. Super Sub !!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😅😂
To be fair we were seconds away from losing the match. So to go from that, to then lifting the trophy 10 minutes later has got to be strange. Im sure a few beers helped them get over the shock. ;)
What a night, I was around 13 at the time this is one of the best nights of my life. I recorded the final on good old vhs and watched it countless times after.
Im brazilian and I was 7 in 99, but just watched the CL final on a 2003 reprise, I was 11, and damn it was a memorable game, I was amazed at that final. Some time after this final MUtd played against Palmeiras at the 99 World cup final in Tokio I guess, everybody talked about Beckham around this time, and I became a Man Utd fan after seeing that team and performance. Good times.
denis irwin is the definition of unsung hero. world class left back, never stopped working, could defend and attack in equal measure, he could pass, he was clever and he never complained
We don't win champions league finals easy. Left it until extra time in 68. Left it until the last few kicks of the ball in 99 and left it all the way down to a penalty shootout against Chelsea in 08.
Celebrating with the people who won it with you there and then, enjoying and living in the moment. No fucking phones. Audiences watching the game with genuine passion and undivided attention, not trying to post witty comments and making 15 seconds of fame memes to get likes to boost their self worth. No bullshit, just football.
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, Humble after scoring the winner of the game. Humble after becoming United's first ever manager to win his first 6 matches in a row! Love for him always
''they don't seem too pleased' Has it ever occurred to you that they are so drained by what's just happened its a natural and momentary comedown while it sinks in. Pretty sure they will have been buzzing later that night. Crikey, have you lot never had a high?
oh and what do you think is better, 1999 barca or 2008 moscow. i was too young to witness '99 :( but i remember '08 fondly :). but overall, i think 1999 is better, simply because even better achievement, and even more dramatic final. but then again, two great teams, two great seasons, two great finals, two great memories :D
