It’s like saying “what’s better, an apple or a cherry?” Both have their own merits. However manchester has made it in spite of London. London has massive amounts of public money spent on it, Manchester does not.
Manchester is also a lot more open minded. I'm a gay guy, and have had great nights on Oxford Road, The Village, Deansgate, Northern Quarter. Trying to do all of that in one night in London, its like you have segregated areas for each bit, while Manchester is just big enough to allow everyone to intergrate nicely but still have space for each niche.
London and Manchester ... you can't even begin to compare them. Historically one of the great cities of Europe and of Empire, and now international finance culture and politics ... versus a provincial backwater which doesn't even begin to match up to French, German, or Spanish second cities ....
Daft comparison. London is a huge world city. The only other cities in the world that can compete with London are Paris and New York. Manchester is a regional city in the northwest of England. Comparing London with Manchester is akin to comparing a Lamborghini with a Vauxhall Corsa and asking which is the best car.
@@jakehowie442 comparing Manchester to any part of London is highly insulting to London. And London is still growing and developing faster than Manchester
@@TheEarthRealm 1980; the greyness of south Manchester, suicide of Ian Curtis and the police's stalking of people (of a certain origin) from Moss Side going to work. Not forgetting the beginning of the UK becoming Londoncentric - thanks to Thatchers hatred of the North.
You have to compare like with like! The actual city of Manchester is small but the Greater Manchester (M Postcode or within M60 ring road) is much larger. A fairer comparison would be the City of Manchester with the City of London and then London is also rather small by population!
No you do not compare Greater Manchester to London, it is the City of Manchester that is quoted and the " M " post code is to do with the Post Office and sorting letters not how big a City is because at the moment Birmingham on it's own with a "B" Post Code is the UK's second largest City with 1.5 million citizens, but if Birmingham had taken over all the areas with a " B " Birmingham Post Code in Solihull, Sandwell, Oldbury, Smethwick, Halesowen, Water Orton and Coleshil, the City of Birmingham's population would be nearer 2.5 million citizens alone
Greater Manchester has almost 3 millions of inhabitants,it s really huge place!Greater London Has almost 9 millions of inhabitants. Greater Manchester has an area of 1278km2. Greater London has an area of 1572km2. The correct size of a city has measured just with area of the city so London is bigger than Manchester but not much bigger,1572 km2 vs 1278 km2. Manchester is a really big world class city better than London about almost everything especially quality of life and it offer to everyone the same things of London!
@@valentynaartysyuk9129no. London is better in every possible category, and it’s 20x bigger in landmass, and it has a population that’s 20x bigger too. Manchester a small shithole, and nothing more than that. London is and will always be the greatest place in the uk, and the world
