Great Vlog, Great set of images, you obviously got excited and took lot of images which is what photography is about. The sunset image was great. well done on the set of images and don't apologise for forgetting to vlog, the images are #1 Thanks for sharing
Some fantastic drone footage and nicely processed with that ramping etc. Certainly looks lively down there , liked the pano that was really nice and a great mix of other cityscape images , enjoyed that !
Thanks a lot Lee, yeah it's a busyish part of the city but still a couple of miles from Manchester City Centre itself, which is just far too busy to film in at that time of the evening - gonna have to get myself up early doors if I want to vlog in the actual city. Forgot to vlog? Forgot the tripod mount? Rough day vlogging? Hahahaha. And yet managed to pull off a cracking video. I've never been to Salford as someone told me to avoid it for that very same mugging reason, although that part looks quite commercial and lively. As Andrew said, a great mix of landscape and street photos in this one, but I agree the drone footage in this one is what did it for me. And that Pano was a stunner! Also, I'm really diggin' the look of the thumbnail and the multishot posts on IG! Great stuff as always mate, really enjoyed it! Hope all is well, chat soon!
Thanks Paul. There's definitely areas to avoid, especially when carrying your kit....but it's the same around all of Manchester - certainly got to be more aware than you do up a mountain that's for sure. Thanks for the comment on the thumbnails and IG posts, I'm quite enjoying putting them together - as you probably know I really dislike Instagram (well most social media tbh) but I'm going to invest a miniscule amount of time into it over the next couple of weeks (and then I'll see haha). Not bad for a Manc lad! Great vlog Dave, love the street images (especially 3:05) and the pano but hey they were all great, all 17 of them! I once left my wallet in a taxi in Salford, strangely it never got returned but my debit card did get used two days later for fuel!

Yeah you have to sew your pockets up in that neighbourhood and do a full and thorough search of the cab seats before you let them leave - I've lost a phone and a bag in a taxi before today and never got them back - rang the phone twice about two mins after he left - first time rang out - second time off!! Funny that.

Some lovely evening light and some banging shots in this one Dave. 3:05 has got to be my fave. Funnily enough I'm out in Sheffield for my video tomorrow - also doing a bit of street stuff. It was a quiet Sunday morning when I went though - looks like evenings are probably the better option! :D
Thanks Robert. Honestly I was watching your video thinking that early morning might be best option for me to venture into Manchester City Centre. It's just far too busy in the evening in the actual city centre. The place I was in this one is about perfect, busy enough to get plenty of options, but not so busy that it becomes impossible to film, but is actually a couple of miles from the actual city......the endless search for the perfect balance goes on haha. Great video, Dave! I really like cityscape and architecture photography and your images were some of the best I have seen! I really liked the photos of the bridges. I am really drawn to repeating patterns and I really like how you composed them in different sort of abstract ways. Your drone footage was excellent as well. Thanks for taking us along on your trip into the city!

Dave, you’re so right, before Media City moved in, even when they built the first lot of apartments (flats) you didn’t dar venture down that way, and definitely not at night ( unless coming home from the match with another 50k ). Was down there about 6/7 weeks ago during the day and the conditions were near perfect, maybe a tad too bright as there wasn’t much atmosphere in the sky, no clouds etc, still got a few nice Long Exposures. I want to get there at night but I live over in Horwich these days and not drove for a year after being diagnosed with Sleep Apnoea, DVLA revoked my license and after I was told I could drive again at Christmas they haven’t sorted my license out, had my paperwork since 6th January too, took them 4 months to send me a form. I’m out at least once a week in Manchester shooting Street Photography
I made the mistake of venturing to that horrid old cinema that used to be down there back when I was a teen. Waiting for the bus on Trafford Road after the film I got 'had' by a group for a fiver (was a lot back then), you live and learn! It has changed for the better nowadays, although you definitely still need to keep your wits about you, but that's as much as anywhere urban really. I'm hoping to do a get-together walkabouts around media city and maybe a couple of other Manchester spots sometime in August, when the sunset starts a little earlier. Be great to see you there if you fancy it and hopefully you have your licence back by then - I'll be sure to message you on Insta when I get it set up.
@@LetsClickPhotography I remember that place, opened to a blaze of glory but it was always dead, I’ve probably got a few years on you as I used to drive over, lived with the ex wife I Higher Broughton then. I’m originally Miles Platting but moved to Openshaw Village when I was 5/6 in 77/78 when they pulled a load of terraced houses down, obviously had no idea why back then, or since until a couple of years ago when I watched one of Martin Zero’s Vids, turns out the old Bradford Pit (colliery for those that don’t know) under where Cities ground is now, closed down because they had to pay Manchester Council X amount of money each month because they were causing subsidence to nearby housing. Well I lived on Bradford Road, the first turning under the bridge coming from the ground so was front row to the pit

Thanks Drew. It's definitely a great place to visit with the camera......It doesn't look quite as nice on a damp grey day though it must be said. Worth a visit later in the day towards the end of summer to get that golden light and then do a bit of long exposure with those neons once darkness sets in.
Wow cracking images and a great mix of cityscape and street photography but the drone footage wins for me ! Never had the drone up here but you did an epic job Dave ! I’d have to go back and look at all those image titles again but the light was amazing and really purveyed the mood of the evening My favourite was the pano - stunning ! Thanks so much Andrew. Usually the drone tends to be one of the last things that I do when filming. On this occasion it was the first and took my time to get the right shots of the areas I knew I would be shooting. I think the resulting footage has informed me I need to perhaps do it that way in the future. It was a glorious evening and beautiful light, just missing that bit of cloud that would have made a couple of those shots. The Pano was from the top level of the car park - very last minute - I'd even paid for my ticket already but had a moment of inspiration to jump in the lift and have a look... and then couldn't resist a shot (or seven!). Thanks again :)
@@LetsClickPhotographyalways a tough one deciding when to fly ! I think if you get there early enough, pre sunset does indeed work best and the opposite for sunrise, get the shots in the bag and then fly once the sun is up a bit and the scene is illuminated sufficiently.
Thanks Paul, I'm planning on doing a few more of this type over the next couple of months. No permission needed with the mini 2 as it is a class C0 (as long as you've done the necessary registering). There is a no flight zone which requires permission on one side of the water so just steered clear of that.
