Hello there, I'm Dave and this is Let's Click Photography, a photography channel dedicated to making photography as accessible as possible. We'll decipher the technicals of the camera in as simple a way as possible. And we'll talk about the art of photography as a creative endeavour. Yep, we'll cover some photography and camera gear reviews too, I mean gear is pretty fun...but do you really need that 3k lens?...we'll discuss the real life use and usability of the gear, rather than the spec sheet from the manufacturer.

Feel free to get in touch via my website or email

I rented this lens for indoor event photography and I'm thinking of buying it when. have the money. But equally I'd like to save up for the 70-200m f4 (I wish I could get the f2.8!). Why does photography have to be so expensive!

Very clever stuff Dave. I am terrible for forgetting to change my semi-auto WB settings especially changing the camera when using if for video indoors then forgetting to change it back and wondering why everyone looks like a smurf later. I suspect this new knowledge will probably give me a whole new set of issues 😆 I think most of my cameras won't be this advanced, although work's Sony might be capable.

Another example of money grabbing gits. its like all charity organisations as soon as money gets involved you find people on huge wages with a greed complex who have no real interest in the charity and just see it as a nest feathering exercise. They will pull any trick to protect their income.

Thanks for a very clearly explained video on this one Dave, I’ll look forward to having a play with the settings to see how I get on. Fortunately it’s quite easy to change & set the WB on the R6 using the ‘Q’ button as I found out recently.

You need to update your drone statement......if you fly a drone less that 250grm, and unless there is an FRZ in place you can fly over NT land if you take off from a public land....this includes ANY public footpath that goes through NT land. Not many areas/places have bylaws, if your going to fly your drone over NT site do your research before flying....
@LetsClickPhotography
@LetsClickPhotography 6 дней назад
do you have a reputable source statement for that? If so I'd be happy to highlight that in a re-edit.

Hi Dave, this is great. Q what is the optimal image size / resolution? Thanks.
@LetsClickPhotography
@LetsClickPhotography 9 дней назад
Portfolio will render a maximum of 3840px on the long edge for retina displays so that is the maximum recommended resolution, the website will then downscale for screens below that capability. However, larger images will impact on the performance of your site so I would only ever upload at that size on background pages, never on the front pages - slower load times impact your search rankings and site reliability. 1920px on the long edge for full display gallery images (the examples in this video were that size or smaller) that can be clicked. Front page, blog posts or pages where images aren't set up to be clicked I upload no larger that 1080px long edge. In terms of file size a maximum of 20mb (preferably less) for full display images and for front page images less than 2mb. It's the weigh off between maximum presentation resolution and nobody ever seeing the images because they took too long to load.

Interesting, we have the same tripod over year, used it in rain, mud rivers, sahara desert and dusty conditions and it still looks like new and works as it should. It looks more like you are pretty hard on your gear, there is no way all those scratches and chips are only from carrying it around and transport

Unfortunately the NT leadership policies have diverged from the Trust's founding principles. To protect their power they have taken steps to destroy the integrity of its democratic basis. (Particularly by introduction of the 'Quick vote' to undermine the votes by informed membership)

Another well explained topic, Dave. I do sometimes try setting the white balance with a grey card, but that's about as much as I get into it. I should really take this into consideration more, especially when doing landscape photography (OK, so that isn't often).

Thanks Dave. That's the best explanation of WB that I have seen. Could I suggest a follow up to this video, that goes through how to set WB manually (by that I mean the value). At the moment, I am not sure how to put my new knowledge into use, either in the field or in post! Cheers.

Great video Dave. I nearly always shoot with my WB set to ‘cloudy’ then adjust in post - your video has definitely challenged me to rethink that strategy, but it’s probably something I need to learn more about, perhaps in October. Are there any resources you can point to where i could learn more about it please? I sat here watching the video thinking “why has he chosen that particular k value for that instance?”.

Very informative as always mate! I started using manual white balance a couple of years ago. I'm not saying that I always get it right, but I've noticed my images are generally closer to the color I see than when using Auto WB. At the very least, I like the feeling of being in control of my images as much as possible - for better or for worse I guess. Always a great watch mate! Chat soon!

Yes, correct. RAW is uncorrected. R series bodies do aberration corrections in jpeg. Suits me. I've used ONLY zooms for 40 years. Best one ever. It's a great price v quality deal. Competes price and quality wise with a lot of third party similar APS-C lenses, but it's full frame! I went with RP + 24-240 kit on a discount. If you go APS-C you have the option of later of adding or switching to FF body and no worries about the lens. I would not have paid extra for weather seal, etc. Never needed it, even on the Maid of Mist at Niagara Falls! Lens hood cheap: JJJ brand on EBay is fine. Canon could not have done this lens price and quality without mirrorless and in camera corrections. Better than paying 3 to 5 times the price for a mirrored version in FF!

You are a Joke! The most biased review I've seen in months. I've been using this tripod for months and have zero problems. Sorry, it's not 7 feet tall. It is a super light tripod for travel - tilt your screen a little and it is Totally useable/. Also, it is Under$100.00.unlike your 4-500 dollar 10X the weight.

I have the Canon R6MII and just got this 24-240 lens last Friday, in the initial testing Ive done, I am very happy with it. I am a seasoned photographer with mainly L Canon lenses. Im heading away on a trip soon and wanted something versatile that would work for landscape and zooming in as well, and found this lens... Its a beauty of a lens, not as heavy as the L lenses - which I wanted/needed for travel, doesn't have the weather sealing which is a slight down fall, however that said I do not typically go out in the rain, unless its a light rain and I am shooting macro - so that will be ok! I am loving this lens, I have this and my RF 35mm f1.8 that I will be bringing with me on our trip and its now my travel kit. Super happy with it and excited to play more with it!

@LetsClickPhotography
@LetsClickPhotography Месяц назад
Gloss (at least here in the UK) is by far the most popular consumer paper. Not knowledgable photographer choice, but at base consumer level, every high street developer, online developer or kiosk etc knocks out gloss prints by default.
@phototocanvaspdx
@phototocanvaspdx Месяц назад
@@LetsClickPhotography Thats interesting thanks for the reply! I guess im not too familiar with kiosks, but here in the US I don't know anyone that prefers gloss. When normal consumers come into my shop and see samples no one ever picks gloss. The online labs I used to used defaulted to luster. Maybe it's a regional thing.

I simply do NOT understand. For ages ALL reviews are about optical quality and then we test the ultimo's of the lens, always looking immediately into sharpness, vignetting, aberrations and barrel distortion. And when a lens scored bad in these areas - woooo the lens manufacturor. And now, with Canon trying to get all their DLSR EF(S) body and lens owners onto the R patform - now this isn't an issue any more - for software can easily correct this? WHAT a NONSENSE. A) You're dependent on the in-camera JPG generation and - let's face it - that's not ideal. B) you HAVE TO post-process EVERY raw image. Well: that works quite well when shooting 1.000 images on your wild life trip, holiday, football match or wedding shoot. Any idea how time that's going to cost you? Or how advanced your automatic correcting port-procesisng workflow must be? WTF. Generating a strong, decent, directly OK raw file REMAINS to be very very relevant and this lens SUCKs at this. I'm ranting for I beleieve these type of Hooray! video reviews are either bad reviews or we're looking at marketing sponsored rubbish. And I'm ranting for Canon will simply not UP their game when we - as photograpghers - buy into this BS of accepting very poor optical performance of their newest lenses. I'm sticking to my R system adaptor and the ES, ES-F, L series, Sigma Sports and Tamron high quality lenses and DO NOT buy into this poor quality trap.
