It's been two days since the removal of my ginormous mandibular tori. Here's what I have been experiencing, and what I've been doing to help my healing process.
Hi there, well I am happy (I guess😉) that I happened on your video. I have been absolutely horrified to have the surgery, however, I was happy to see your video. Did you have laser surgery or? Only when you have a chance if you happen by. I will say you have somewhat inspired me to move ahead with it. Hope everything is cleared up well for you. Elaine (Toronto)
Hi Elaine, and thank you for reaching out. It’s pretty vulnerable to share, I know. I have to tell you I am happy to hear that my videos have helped even a little bit. I did not have laser surgery. I did look into it though. From what I understand, the technology is not as far as we would hope. As a dental hygienist, I was laser certified and it was a great tool, but it did not take place of hand instrumentation, or even the cavitron. That is a different story, of course, but look into it more. When I was practicing dentistry, the laser was a great marketing tool. See if there is someone that has a lot of experience using a laser for bone removal and ask -a lot of questions. I can tell you by having it done the old-fashioned way, it was absolutely fine. The key is conscious sedation. Lay low for several days and choose a very soft diet. If you watch all my videos and also look at some of the questions beneath them, I think you’ll find a lot more information. Again, thanks for reaching out. Please stay in touch and let us know how it goes. Ann
Hello I have tori that soon meet in the underjaw considering to take them away. Is the traditional way best or laser. I live in Sweden and dont know if the do laser here. Does it hurt lot after operation? Is risk of infection? Best Regards
Thankyou for your videos. I have 2 questions. Is it hard to swallow your medicine after the surgery n if you feel comfortable sharing how much did this cost please. Thankyou
Hi Bonnie- great questions! I was concerned about that as well. I did not have any problems swallowing pills/medication. Insurance did cover it (up to my max). Total was about $4k
