Terapogos is 100% the “disk legendary” that is the source of Terastylizing. It’s got the 18 types on its back, it’s got the Terra symbol on its back as well, and it’s the Indigo *Disk*. Honestly, I’m hyped for the dlc
I feel like there is more to it than we are getting. I do believe that Paldea just doesn't seem to have any true villains. There might be secondary forms for both these new legends. The leak is that Tera pokemon will get specialized forms for certain pokemon like gigantimax forms.
@@CowboyPrestige101 Well I hope that leak is true because that's a concept that I thought of even before SV were revealed and I still believe it'd work well, especially for the paradox pokemon and legendaries
As for Zebstrika, it was obtainable in Gen 6 National Dex via Friend Safari (XY) and Mirage Spots (ORAS), while it is unobtainable in all Gen 7 and 8 games (and not even coded into any Switch games before the SV DLC) While Gogoat is never obtainable in any main series games released between XY and SV
The fact that there’s an ancient Paradox form of Suicune, a Pokémon created by Ho-Oh fairly recently, makes me believe a bit more the theory that the paradoxes were made by Terapagos out of dreams/imagination
Or that Ho oh turned the dogs into the legendaries based on a more docile version of ancient pokemon. We could get further down the line a paradox enti and riako and is voilet paradox swords of justice
@@curtisbraebairn3608 That would be cool. It makes you wonder what kind of wacky typings or shapes that Entei and Raikou will turn out as. I find Iron Leaves...okay, but extremely underwhelming as it literally just looks like Dr. Robotnik chucked Virizion into his roboticizer and called it a day, meanwhile the only things that remind you that Walking Wake is a Paradox Suicune is the hexagon crown and the color scheme. The only one of the Violet Paradox Pokémon so far that looks different enough to look like a new Pokémon is Iron Valiant, and that's because its a mix of two from the same evolution branch. Meanwhile Scarlet gets Slither Wing and Walking Wake to start with, as Slither Wing could pass as not being related to Volcarona, and then the point I made about Walking Wake earlier. I just wish they would STOP SHINY LOCKING POKEMON!! WHY CAN'T THESE JERKS JUST LET US HUNT?!
@LEGOBRICK13 I kind of agree voilet has the better box legendary but the paradox pokemon are as you so aptly put it look like Eggman just mechanised them and went back to binge watching loony toons for ideas on how to stop sonic. I think the reason iron valiant looks so different is becuase it's 2 pomemon being mechanised and put into one with gardivoir and gallade rather then one.
@@curtisbraebairn3608 That's exactly what I think about it! The reason I personally like Iron Valiant (or in the case of my nicknamed one based on MandJTV's ideas for legit names: Galgaraze) is because of that very reason. Gardevoir and Gallade are a branching evolution line so the merging of the two makes sense with that connection, and since I absolutely love things that are two-in-one (like Transformers or the Zords from Power Rangers, as well as crossovers) the idea of combining the two instantly had me hooked. And when you think about it, it actually makes Iron Valiant the most unique out of them, as it takes inspiration from _two_ Pokemon instead of one like all the others, and on top of that it uses details from the Megas, plus details that set it apart (like the weird pigtail things and the Gallade blades forming a single weapon that it carries around). Its design is an amazing amalgamation of the two, though it would be cool to see a biological version of it too. I think it would be great if we got new forms for the other two of both the Legendary Beasts and the Swords of Justice, as it feels odd that only one of the members would get the treatment. That said, I think it's odd how drastically different they look to the sketches in the books, and it makes me wonder if their pulling a double-troll on us. Having these two look so different from the sketches to mess with us, but then maybe there is either somehow _another_ paradox that draws from all three to make a form akin to the sketches, or maybe you can _combine_ them to make this new entity. Maybe to do so you need a special item for each trio, the Violet trio uses the Quark Core (I think that's a cool name for a Key Item), and the Scarlet trio uses the Proto Splicers (best I could come up with). Like I said before though, the Violet paradoxes, while the box legend is great and so is Iron Valiant (I personally like Iron Moth a lot too), it just feels a bit off-putting that EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM IS A ROBOT!! I mean I can understand that being the only way that a Delibird could become useful, but _all_ of them? Though I will give them this much, I'm not sure how you could necessarily portray these guys are from the future without being robots. The only things I can think of are becoming more humaniod (in-line with our own evolution as the idea of the Past Paradoxes being more feral, while the Future ones being more articulated) or looking more withered/mutated/apocalyptic overall (as a sign of a degrading environment and representing a bleak fate that we have brought upon the world. It's a bit dark, but they did create Galarian Corsola and the dimension Guzzlord is seen in during Ultra Sun & Moon). ...Whoops! I got stuck in rapid-fire-theory-and-concept mode again. If anything this just goes to show that they need to listen to the fans more, as we can come up with some really interesting ideas. Even just looking at FuseCorp Pokemon fusions is proof enough of how they could've done things for other Past Paradoxes, as they could've made some resemble ancestor species that connect multiple species, like a Dark-Type dog ancestor that bridges Houndour, Maschif, and Poocheyna; or maybe a connection between Growlithe and Rockruff (Growlithe's Hisuian form _is_ a Rock-Type after all). Only the fans truly know what the fans want. Me and another guy even ended up sychronizing our minds with the idea of "What if Mabosstiff didn't make it?" where Arven's partner's spirit becomes a Houndstone. Another point that hey need to listen to the fans: ADD SOME ARCEUS DAMNED VOICE ACTING!! WE ALL KNOW YOU HAVE THE MONEY TO DO IT!!
I am guessing the DLC themes will be based on Japanese folklore. Specifically, the first one is Momotaro-themed, with an oni (Ogrepon) and a pheasant, monkey, and dog shown. The second is the story of Otohime and Urashima Tarou, with the kingdom (school) in the ocean and the mysterious turtle with tails (Terapagos). Looking forward to it!
The first DLC story, anyway. That new academy is just Blueberry Academy rather than being in Spanish like the Paldean academies, so I think the second DLC story is based in an English speaking nation.
@@gengarzilla1685 nah it’s gonna be called the myrtille academy in some way shape or form because if you look at the weather map in the dlc trailer and the kalos map it matches the northwest corner of kalos and definitely doesn’t look like paldea, and myrtille is blueberry in French and sounds like the name you’d give a school underwater.
I'm so ready for the DLC. With how lore heavy SV is already, I'm excited what they're going to add to Area Zero I'm starting to learn giving your opinion on anything is a bad idea.
@RookLash and, it's not all that lore heavy. It just takes a massive back seat until the end of the game. But so far it has just as much as sword and shield did in the base game.
I think the new mons for the teal mask DLC are based on the story of momotaro, with the pheasant, dog, and monkey Pokémon helping mc catch the main figure for teal mask, who is the Oni from the story.
I'm excited for the winter DLC, Mikey. You get your Zebstrika, and I get love for my boy Dewgong, based on the pictures (which seem very likely to have them).
I wanna know why Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are just Suicune and Virizion when the books showed a fusion of the trios Makin’ me think the others are gonna have some attention too
I mean in hindsight it'd be a bit strange to just have a fusion of the trios they are a part of when pokemon are natural creatures. However I still like to think it's a possibilty to get paradox forms for the other parts of their respective trios. If the sketches were derived from glimpses that the researchers of area zero caught of the trios, and the researchers believed they were all parts of a single pokemon, then the other parts of the trios could still exist as paradox pokemon. It also matches up with the 2 parts of the DLCs, perhaps we'll get paradox raikou/entei and cobalion/terrakion in each part of the DLC (hence suicune/virizion being added awkwardly outside of DLC) and in the final DLC we may discover more about them.
I think the reason why the new paradox pokemon look so different from the art in the books is because there are also going to be paradox forms for Raikou, Entei, Cobalion and Terrakion and the art we see in the books is an amalgamation of trios
Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are only 5* raids, and the event will end on March 12th. They have signature moves they get boosted by Sunny Day and Electric Terrain respectively, so even though they are 5*, they can be tough if you aren’t careful.
Fortunately, Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are in 5 Star Raids, rather than 7 Star Raids. Still a challenge, but as long as you’re smart with the Pokémon you bring you should be fine
That turtle is most likely the third legendary as it matches parts of the illustration from the lore books. When you look at the Third legendary picture in the book, look at the top of the sphere and you will see it.
@@TheRibottoStudios idk I just saw someone replying that to a comment that the mask legendary and the other mask are based on Momotaru and companions and given that there is a secluded place and time involvement I thought it could actually be possible and liked it and wanted to share it elsewhere it is not my idea
I wonder if its on an island in Paldea (like the isle of armor) or is it a school in another region, England is known for their boarding schools so it could be in a part/ section of Galar, although it may also be in Kalos as they're neighbours and they could maybe have a small explorable area of Kalos with the school since i doubt the entire school is on that little island, it seemed more of a battle facility, like in Pokemon Unite, hmmmmm🤔🤔🤔
@@Ditto.007 blueberry Academy seems to be in the middle of the ocean, which is very cool. As for Kitakami, it’s probably far from Paldea as it’s clearly derived from traditional Japanese culture.
I feel like not enough people are excited about the Netflix series. I absolutely LOVE stop motion, and I’m super excited to see one of my favorite animation styles with my favorite franchise!
The "weird Pikachu" is an animatronic and I love it. Edit: I am super excited for the DLC and it does make sense that the new school is called "blueberry academy" because Uva academy means Grape Academy Edit 2: Mikey's pokemon sleep partner would 100% be Drowzee lol
Honestly, I’m looking forward to seeing more stuff like what Pokemon Concierge seems to be going for. I dunno about you guys, but I’ve been with this franchise since the beginning and I’m kinda worn out on the battle aspect lately. I want to see how the rest of the Pokemon world works outside of competition! ❤ The older I’ve gotten, the more I realize I wouldn’t be the protagonist in the games; I’d be one of the NPCs in like the Safari Park or Flocessy Ranch. 😂
So Mikey, what are your thoughts on the new paradox forms? I think Walking Wake looks SICK! Iron Leaves is alright, but I think Walking Wake looks Drastically different than what we saw in the scarlet book. So, who wins? Hopefully, you like them. Also, Wugtrios' name, Wug, means a worm or insect-like creature.
Iron leaves is about what I expect for the majority of the Violet paradox mon. Aesthetically Mediocre, Chrome shiney and that is it. (Iron Valiant of course being an exception, it still has chrome shiney but it looks good). And Walking Wake is what I expect for Scarlet paradox mon, aesthetically great and probably has a solid shiney
@The Legendary Arceus yeah, and I don’t seem much of the rest of the respective trio in either of their designs, im hoping that these two are a teaser for what is to come with paradox forms of each of the respective trio’s that could merge together like a kyurem situation
@The Legendary Arceus I’m kinda hoping that means that the sketch is a combination of paradox forms of all the Pokémon in the trio so maybe that means we can get paradox forms for Entei/Raikou and Cobalion/Terrakion
18:13 dude. Everyone seems to forget the Art was an artist’s interpretation of what a Paradox Mon could look like. It wasn’t supposed to be a real Pokémon. Hence being fusions.
To be honest I was expect that Game freak to released the two fusion Pokemon from the books from Academy library instead because I thought they were a hint for DLC since they weren't released onto Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games yet.
Anyone else think it's odd they say Chingling, Yanma, and Espurr are in the DLC rather than their evolutions? My guess is regional forms for those and maybe Zebstrika getting an evolution (for Mikey of course)
More than likely they are simply showing Pokémon from all stages of evolution. It isn't really all that odd as it happens all the time with Pokémon advertisements. However it would be really cool to see regional variants for those three specifically. • Chingling and Chimecho really need something more, and a Psychic/Ghost Type Chimecho would be where I would go with it. • Yanma and Yanmega are really good stat-wise and honestly don't need much. However Yanmega should have had the Bug/Dragon typing so perhaps that's what they will do? (Probably not) • Espurr and Meowstic getting regional variants would be rad honestly. I can see Espurr evolving into multiple types like Eevee, with Male becoming Psychic/Water and Female becoming Psychic/Fire.
I had so much trouble with iron leaves, because its constantly using swords dance and it was OHKing my level 100 hypertrained Baxcaliber even though he resisited most of the attacks. Walking Wake took one try, and I think it has to do with the fact that he lowers your attacks rather than boosting his own.
When you have the nightmare rarity of 1/10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
fun fact: the "tera" in terapagos might mean that it is the reason of the crystals in area zero (the dlc is called the hidden treasure of area zero after all) and i think its the reason of the terasstal phenomenon.
I played Pokemon Cafe when I got my Shield game. It's an analog of all those "connect all of the same type" games. Just with a Pokemon skin slapped on. I still have it on my Switch, but haven't played in almost a year. And I'm 29
The fact that zebstrika is back, a pokemon I always liked and we haven't seen since ORAS in *2014!* ,was a sudden surprise and a wonderful delight I hope it gets a moveset buff, like getting Thunderous Kick, Flare Blitz (since it gets flame charge) and Zing Zap
Two months ago: Mikey: Why do I celebrate Gogoat being back while Zebstrika gets nothing? Today: Terapagos: Here is Zebstrika. Happy now? Mikey: Zebstrika! *clap clap* the zebra! Terapagos: I am glad you are happy now. Also, Ogerpon knew Vikavolt was one of your favorites, so he brought that Pokemon back too.
My most common yells during this video were "Oh my God!", "What the fuck is that thing?!" and just general yells of excitement. (for the SV stuff. Most of the other stuff I didn't care about, the exceptions being Sleep and Cafe. Pokemon Sleep is adorable and I love the Cafe update)
I felt the same way as you did with that Pikachu, I found that more terrifying than anything and beyond distracting. I'm glad you recorded your reaction. I was disappointed and hoping the same thing as you for pokemon bank, with today being the day. As soon as the video ended I went and caught the 2 new pokemon. Walking wake doesn't have a swimming animation so it just walks on water which is pretty sick
But the thing is, what can we say? Even before Arceus, we have Tri-Attack, which is supposed to be a combination attack with fire, ice and electric, but due ti the game being what it is, it becomes normal. I know it would be cool if Terapagos isn't normal, but given its design, I doubt its base type is anything but normal.
The first part is basedof the myth of Momotaro: A boy born from a peach travels to Oni(demon/ogre) Island, on his travels he meet a dog, a monkey, and a pheasent. Together they fought off all the Onis, The second part is based of Urashimataro: A fisherman saves a turtle which takes him to an underwater palace. After Partying at the Dragon’s Castle he is given box which he was told not to open and went back to the surface. It is later revealed that he has been underwater for 100 yrs, upset because everyone he knew is bassically gone he opens the box and instantly turns old, apparently the box contained his age.
20:38 Those 3 other Pokemon in the back surely look like they're a legendary trio for this DLC, maybe even new starters, though it would be odd to show what would be final evos in the poster.
I am british and I have never once heard anyone speak like those pokemon masters characters outside of dodgy gang type people. Normal people don't talk like that
Bro imagine you just watched a horror movie, you go to bed and turn off the lights, of course, extremely scared. And then you just hear the pikachu in the Pokémon Go plus plus thingy sing you a lullaby and getting scared the absolute crap outta you.
22:51 been waiting for that reaction since I saw the Pokèmon that's going to be rereleased with the DLCs😂💙 My first thought, when I saw zapstrika was among them, was that Mikey would definitely be happy😊💙
