Mikey if you have not played Hades yet, I highly recommend it. It is a rouge like dungeon brawl and it is so amazing to play. The graphics and the art style is stellar and you never feel like you loose if you die because it gives you opportunity to talk to the amazing characters again. The music is probably the best music for any video game ever and it’s just such an amazing game

I agree that Mario 64 is rough around the edges, but the movement is so fantastic when you get a grasp on it. It’s wild how tight the controls can be for a groundbreaking 3D platformer.

This video feels so genuine. I mean it's not just about getting to know you better. It just doesn't feel forced! It doesn't feel like you are doing it because you have to. It is just awesome. 🔥

gotta say, I'm loving these more cozy, less scripted videos. It feels really calm and fun to watch over the high energy main channel videos. Keep it up man!

I'm not sure if you've ever played Okami or not but the art style is very unique as it's done in watercolor.

If you haven't played it already I recommend ghost of Tsushima it's based off the Mongol invasion of Japan and has a very clean combat system, there are multiple areas like legends arceus but have a lot more to do in each of them. The game is also beautiful, with the story being my favorite aspect.

"Just Cause" is the best pun title ever and I don't think anything will ever top it in that respect

I think it's amazing that Mikey is able to talk about his interests that's not just pokemon. I've been watching him for a while, and I always have fun when he has content come out (also he got me back into pokemon, even when I was in a bad spot in life), so I think it's awesome that he can get to express himself and we get to see more about Mikey then just the guy who plays Pokemon. 😁

"They were rated M ... and I was a child." I remember playing the God of War games at 11 years old, and my dad even bought me Chains of Olympus for my PSP when it came. Great series of games. Honestly, I would say GoW would be one of my all time favorite games ever made.

I love how Mikey explains why he loves open world games where you can make more decisions, I guess that's part of the reason why he loves Legends: Arkoos so much. I am curious whether he's played Genshin Impact or not, considering that is also an open world game with cartoon-ish graphics.

Can't wait for Mikey's Scarlet playthrough, definitely something to wait for. Btw, try the Persona series. That thing is a MASTERPIECE

Coming from a person who liked the vast majority of the games you said i recommend the Xenoblade series because it’s just a very fun action rpg game that takes many hours to complete it and find all the small details. Side note you do not have to play them in order but playing them in order will make more sense for the last one.

I have 2 (technically 3) game recommendations. Since you mentioned 2 space games where you build bases, I highly recommend the 2 games in the Subnautica series. They're games where you crash land on an alien planet and try to get out. The second one is different though, you're there to uncover secrets about an organization. The other one is The Henry Stickmin Collection. I highly recommend it, even though it's very different than the other games that you said. It's a game with MANY endings and I highly recommend you get all of them. It's easy, funny, fun and references many games.

Not gonna lie I think I'm gonna love this channel even more than your others. For one, while I love Pokemon, I have a lot of different phases where I like watching a lot of different things, and I think mixing your personality, which I like watching, with those other games sounds like a fun as hell mix. For two, I like longer form content a lot of the time, as I love just putting on videos or series on in the background when I'm doing schoolwork or playing games, and from what I remember of your first video, that's exactly what this channel is. Excited to see what we get here, keep on keepin on.

Far Cry Primal is my favorite video game. It's an open-world story game with an amazing story and graphics. I love that it's based in the stone age, so you only have primitive weapons to work with and you're up against primal animals. You can tame those animals and use them in combat. The combat system is absolutely amazing and probably my favorite combat system of any game. Please play it :)

I remember watching this man play Rocket League 6 years ago, and now it's my main game, so I'll take this moment to thank MandJTV for the amazing content.

Your indie game picks made me think of a couple of my favorites: Slime Rancher and Subnautica. They're colorful goal oriented but still exploration based. A little bit of story, good world building. They're pretty different style wise but I think you might really like those~!

Music from this series has occasionally been in your videos so you might have already played it, but I'd recommend the Xenoblade series. It's an action RPG series that has beautiful areas to explore (and you're rewarded for exploring them with experience) and the stories in each of the games are incredible as well.

I was so excited to see a video where mikey just talks to us on a somewhat personal level. I love the new energy and vibe youre giving out mikey. Also i gotta check out some of these games. You reminded me i never finished spiderman on ps4. I never played pheynx rising. Never really heard about it after it realeased really. I also love open world but goal oriented games so this list has given me alot to look into. I appreciate you and your content. Keep it up my man🙏

If you enjoy games with a deep story and intriguing art design, I highly recommend playing Hollow Knight, it is one of my favorite games of all time and even though its really well-known and liked, I still feel its underrated especially compared to the some of the other well-known indie titles like Undertale or Stardew Valley

It's not exactly in the same category of anything else you talked about, but I highly HIGHLY recommend Hades. It's gotta be in my top 5 favorite games ever made it's so good

Any and all Lego games are my childhood. Marvel, DC, of course Star Wars, and whatever else was at my daycare was what I played. So nostalgic

I love jrpgs, both turn based and action rpgs. I can highly recommend the persona series (especially 4 and 5), dragonquest (especially 8 and 11), the entire tales of series (especially tales of arise).

Im glad you mentioned horizon. Zero dawn is the best story I've ever seen in a video game it's absolutely amazing. The worldbuilding is superbly done the way exploring and getting more of the data points can add so much more to it

Game suggestion: Kingdom Hearts series. Primarily the core games 1, 2 and 3. Although there are many others as well. Feel like it meets a lot of your requirements, graphics, heavy in depth story, fun combat etc. my favourite series of all time. The story can get a bit confusing, but it’s a lot of fun and you can sink into the universe very easily. Basically final fantasy meets Disney 😅

So glad he mentioned Immortals: Fenyx Rising! It's super underrated due to BotW, so I'm happy that it's getting some exposure!

completely agree on your take on the 3d mario platformers. the first one i played was odissey(i played like 1 hour of galaxy a couple of years prior but i didnt understand anything of the game lol) and it's just so beautiful. mario's movement is SO seemless,the platforming is fun and rewarding and the game looks great too. if i just played the other ones before odissey,i could probably understand the people that say that odissey isnt the best one,but i feel like that exactly because i started on the most recent one,trying the older ones is HARD

Great video. Yes Pokemon is my favorite franchise, but I have gotten bored of just pokemon. So I have recently started watching different youtubers and playing games like subnautica and the horizon series. So I love this video, glad you added this channel, and cant wait for more! Also side note, i found it funny because how I like to enjoy video games is literally like you lol. Specifically needing tasks and just wanting to have a good time.

So I know it’s been a year since this video was released but I have a game I recommend which is called Castle Crashers. It is a 2D platform game which you might not like, but it’s very colorful and really fun especially when playing with other people

The phoenix wright series are awesome! Totally their own thing and the newer ones are great! my husband and I play them together because we love the series so much!

I played It Takes Two with my older brother earlier this year. We LOVED IT. It was so much fun, really funny, and was super interesting, as I have never been in a relationship, while my brother has been in several, so it was a unique experience for both of us. We were also disturbed by the elephant. It's very uncomfortable, and you feel so bad about it.

14:24 I started my Mario Kart journey on the Wii, then 8 while I still had the Wii Wheel, and all that training now is for the Joy-cons and 8 Deluxe.

I play and love all the games you mentioned! My partner and I are currently playing Grounded with friends and it reminds us a lot of It Takes Two mixed with the base building in Satisfactory. I don’t like fighting, so I’m the one building the bases and cooking food while the others go off and adventure and progress the story. It’s a great group game and highly recommend it!

This video was *clap clap* incredible and I think that if you like games with good stories and not a really high level of difficulty alongside almost cartoonish, cute graphics you have to play Hollow knight. The story is moving and intriguing and it’s overall really fun to find new abilities and skills throughout the game together with slowly piecing together the lore too.

One game that I cannot recommend enough is a game called CrossCode (which is what my PFP is from). It is an RPG set within an MMORPG and it has one of the most gripping stories I've played, incredible puzzle design and fantastic music and visuals. It is my all time favourite game ever.

Okay I've got a recommendation! I think you'd love Final Fantasy 7 (the remake specifically) it very much fits the action adventure genre that you said you like! And the story is just 👌 You should definitely give it a try if you get the chance! Also, great vid and your taste in video games is very similar to my own

An indie game I'd recommend is Hades, it has a LOT of stuff to do (mainly side quests and main story points) The story is about you, Zacreus trying to escape from hell to find your mother Persephone (it's based on Greek mythology) Also, agree with breath of the wild, very fun game!

The fact that you did this better than shorts creators who do this everyday is just- amazing.

I love that somebody else loved Immortals Fenyx Rising. Game was definitely a sleeper and I had so much fun playing it as the first game on my PS5

Breath of the Wild is amazing. Loved how Legends Arceus seemed to take Inspiration of it. Also BotW cutscenes were beautiful. You should put a Tears of the Kingdom playthrough here. Bet a lot of your followers will like it.

Based on your love for open-world, make your own path games, you're probably gonna LOVE scarlet and violet

When Mikey mentioned astroneer my face actually lit up. That is my all time fav game and to see it get recognition makes me so happy

Another game that's similar to It Takes Two is Unravel 2. I found it difficult but very enjoyable. I would recommend buying it if you have a significant other, sibling, friend, or you can use the temporary single player feature to do some bits by yourself (not all of it though). It Takes Two is a better game, however.

Mikey I don't know if you've played it, but Fire Emblem Three Houses is a fantastic game with an amazing story, along with the strategy that most Fire Emblem games involve. Seems right up your alley! It is three years old but a great game nonetheless.

I can’t guarantee you’d enjoy it, but the Pikmin series is pretty open and involves a lot of strategy. I don’t know it’s definitely worth trying since a new entry is on the way.

Based on the games you picked, I'd recommend Sonic Frontiers when it comes out November 8th. It's a mostly open world action game with engaging combat. You sure can go fast.

Such a good line up of games!! If you’re into that Open world aesthetic I’d recommend the Arkham series. It’s essentially the basics of Spider-Man. The combat is pretty simple and the games aren’t overly challenging. You really feel powerful gliding around the city as Batman, taking down thugs. Just some food for thought 🙂

I'm not head over heels in love with Breath of the Wild like a lot of people are, in fact, I never really got into it. However, funny enough, when Tears of the Kingdom came out, everything clicked for me, and now I consider that to be one of my favorite games of all time.

I’ve always wanted to know what your favourite non-Pokémon games were! Good to know you’re into Botw and hype for Totk! Since you mentioned how colour is very important to you in games, I’d highly recommend playing Wind Waker HD, it’s on Wii U but you could probably emulate it with Cemu on pc if you didn’t wanna go through the process of finding a copy, and I know the eshop situation is all weird now so you’d probably have to add money to your Nintendo account via switch then buy the game on Wii u with a linked Nintendo account. Whichever way works for you I’d highly recommend it!!!

Astral Chain has been something I really liked based on the trailer alone, but I never got around to playing it unfortunately. Do you guys like that game?

What I recommend more than anything is Xenoblade 3. You will enjoy the combat. You will admire the landscape. You will cry. You will get your mind blown. You will cry some more. You will get addicted to unlocking new classes and skills for your party. And you WILL fall in love with the party.

Not sure if you would like them, but the mario and rabbids games are so fun. They are XCOM like stategy game, and while they do get difficult near the end, they are too good to pass up. And the second game just game out so now would be a good time to start.

Highly recommend grounded: Your shrunken down and fight bugs to make armor ,tools, etc. And the main story is to find out why you were shurken in the first place.

This is honestly respectable. I've never played Zelda but it looks really fun

If you haven't played Undertale, I highly recommend it. It's incredibly intuitive with a unique and fun gimmick that actually plays into the story incredibly well. Not open world, but everything else makes up for it. Also music great

Two recommendations. First, since you mentioned a couple of base building and customization games, I would recommend Cult of the Lamb. It’s a pretty and really unique base building game where you build your own little cult. Second, I’d recommend Elden Ring. It’s an open world game and it is so beautiful. You can customize a lot so it has a lot of replay value and even though it’s not a cartoony style it’s still really cool and I’d highly recommend it.

- The Lego games (not including Lego Worlds and Lego Movie 2, i don't like those that much) - the Infamous series - Persona 5 (Royal) - Naruto Ninja Storm series - Tomb Raider trigoly Those are my fav games (besides the pokemon games) Also i got a Lego version of the Tallneck from Horizon Forbidden West

I can't be the only one who wants to see Mikey play Genshin Impact. I think he will like it.

Looking at his list I feel like he would enjoy Genshin Impact, there’s a ton of quests and story objectives it’s incredible open world and colorful not sure how he feels about gacha but eh everything else seems to fit his categories pretty well

I think you would like, hades it's a dungeon crawler with different choices of weapons, upgrades, great main story and side quests and it's based around Greek mythology. in the game you are the son of hades, zagreous trying to escape hades to find your mom, and even once you beat the main story you can keep going and still get new quests, it's a little hard but if like to always have a objective, I think you would love it.

I recommend Cuphead. It is a 2d, hand-drawn Indee (IDK how to spell it). It is very difficult, but very fun to walk yourself through the fairytale of adventure, and broken switches.

My favorite game is a really not known game called “Journey to the Savage Planet”. And that was the game to fully make me realize that I love alien planet games like Subnautica and Slime Rancher.

Two of my favourite non-Pokemon games are Subnautica and Slime Rancher. They have that fun creative aspect to them and open-exploration that you mentioned for the first several games but neither of them lack direction either. They're also both very colourful and stylistic as well. I think they'd be a good fit for you. Don't know if you've played them but I highly recommend them if you haven't!

Another fun thing about just cause is in the 4th (Mabey the others idk) the cars have radios that have radio djs and if you drive into a tunnel the audio gets all staticy

As a Just Cause enjoyer, I never would’ve expected Mikey to be in to it, but it makes sense

You have got to play terraria, its a 2d game that's kind of like minecraft but there's a main objective that takes a while , it has a bunch of different weapons and secrets ,optional bosses, NPCs and you can play multiplayer.

I'd recommend Kirby and the forgotten land great 3D platformer, cute as well. Even has a little checklist of side goals for each level 😁 Keep up the good work Mikey, your videos are always great 😄

People may disagree, but I think you would enjoy Halo: Infinite - it is a first person shooter with a pretty big open world, with a story as well so not just open ended, and it basically focuses around kicking alien butt. It's also the type of game which you can put down, not play it for months, and come back and get straight back into the action. It recently (a few days prior to writing this comment) came out with 4 player co-op on the campaign (which I have been talking about - Mikey would probably hate the multiplayer) and its extremely fun with friends.
