I think everyone should bear in mind that the cover they did of Beggin was a song they were given to perform one week on X Factor Italy when they were first trying to become professional as teens. It wasn't their choice either to sing it then or that this was the one that would become so massively successful in the US when they became well known. They did it well, of course, but I'm sure they'd prefer to be known for the great songs they've actually written, of which there are many.
They arranged it themselves and it might have been one of many songs they'd considered before the X-Factor. They started from covers and they nailed them all. Just cause some people only know them for Beggin' and can't seem to appreciate the job that there's behind it, it doesn't mean you have to disregard it as well.
I've been wondering who gave them the brilliant idea to pick that song. Also, I remember an interview where they mentioned that it was another Beggin' cover that theirs is based on, not the original done by Frankie Valli.
He looks like the stereotypical drummer of TV shows or Hollywood. The kinda unrealistical cliché of a drummer starting doing things with random stuff like in High School Musical.
I don't know what point that person was trying to make but many songs have been remade by various artists. In some cases, such as in this situation, Måneskin gave "Beggin" new life! Måneskin's version was well done and presents an upbeat spirit that moves the soul. 💞💞💞
People remake song for various reason, tp pay tribute or because the just like the song. There’s nothing wrong with remakes/covers. I’m not sure why people view them so negatively. Just enjoy the music

I don't think it was done to embarrass them. It looked like he played it in recognition of the band and was being respectful. I think the band took it the same way.
Imagine that you are a very talented Italian singer-songwriter, you have many beautiful songs (mostly in Italian) and you won one the biggest contest in Europe, and you are only known for a cover you did when you were a teenager. Then a stranger on the street out of nowhere plays what he thinks is the original version of that song. Of course you would be uncomfortable or angry and even tired of listening to that song . The guys from Måneskin have a lot of good songs. Yes, their version of Beggin is amazing, but as a fan who has been following them since they participated in X Factor Italy, all the good songs they have are in Italian.
also they and the guys next to them were working, you can see they are being filmed. Imaging someone blasting music just to piss you off while you're on a call at work, that's some Dwight from the Office sick attitude
They have amazing songs in English too. I don't speak Italian and I love both their English and Italian songs. Beggin' blew up because of tiktok. The person in the car is rude not even just for blasting the original but filming them without even trying to ask.
Been following my these dudes since their Eurovision win, seeing that shit live on air was about some of the mosts satisfying things to happen on that show in years, whoever did this is an asshole. They’re incredibly talented and wonderful.
I’ve been following them before they got on eurovision. It was late in the night, I finished an episode of mako mermaids (yes ikik…) and I wanted to sleep but I couldn’t so I wanted to play an Italian song. I searched, “Italian songs” and went to a mix/playlist. Torna a Casa came up. And boyyyy was I hooked. Then a year later they blew up globally through Eurovision and their views shot up from hundreds of thousands to hundreds of millions. Its crazy tbh. Crazy.

I am a big fan of Maneskin and it is the song Beggin that brought me into the fold, I loved it because I have always been a Four Seasons fan, my older brother was a big fan so I heard all of the Four Seasons stuff growing up, but I love Maneskin's version of the song, I think they did a great job, but yeah everyone needs to listen to all of their music, they are a great band, I'm really happy for their success,,,,

But the remakes don’t really deviate from the Four Seasons original from the 1960s. They're primarily faithful (albeit uninspired) covers. I've heard covers that genuinely put a unique, individualistic spin on a song, like “All Along the Watchtower” by Jimi Hendrix, which advances upon the cruder, simplified original folk version by Bob Dylan. The “Beggin’” covers do not add anything new, truth be told.
I’m a the biggest fan, been to all their concerts in LA area and gotta admit this video is pure joy. Makes me love them even more. 😅it’s just priceless to see them being caught off guard and those individual unrehearsed reactions that speak volumes about their deep love for music and their genuine sensitivity. So good! They should own it, and put it on their “On the road series”. ❤❤❤
Why is everyone assuming the guy was trying to embarrass the band? I'm pretty sure they would have been even more embarrassed if their own song had been blaring at them in public. I think the just guy wanted to show that he thought they were cool. You can see Ethan and Tommas joining in, it's just Damiano who's trying to ignore the guy, because surprisingly he's the most shy of the 3. Their humility is the reason any of them felt embarrassed.

I don't understand why this is rude, and i'm genuinely curious as to why you thought so, because looking at the comments there are more people who agree with you than me. I'm a huge Måneskin fan and would have thought this would be a cool thing to do for them, but they were very modest about it. I can only imagine how abashed they would have been to have their own song blaring at them in public.

@@fighterflight When is a song an original? When you have written it yourself or when you are the first to record it. The Four Seasons were the first to record the song. Maneskin are one of many to do the same. To me they are on the same level so to speak. They have all recorded a song that somebody else has written.
I honestly hate the people who don't accept it was a cover of many covers and that Madcon made it famous in the newer music era. But I think the guy in the video just knows they sang this and they all just enjoyed the song

I knew that song from the Jersey Boys musical. You fall in love with the Four Seasons. Great band! Same thing happened with Laurin Hill's version of "I love you, baby"

Many of the best songs are remakes. Most are not over 50 years old. This is about the longest in Recording History to be remade as a hit. It's finally been revealed that Bob Crewe, who cowrote many songs with Bob Gaudio, was also actually the Executive Producer for B.T. Puppy records, the one with the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel drawing on the label. Crewe credibly reworked a Gershwin song, "I Got Rhythm" for The Happenings, and a Cole Porter song, "I've Got You Under My Skin" for The Four Seasons. In that same time period in the late 1960s, Bob Gaudio and Angels member Peggy Santiglia (Farina) wrote "Beggin'", so it's gone full circle. No one would dare not credit the Gershwins or Cole Porter, so why are Peggy and Bob being dissed here? They wrote the song. Accept it.

This song was a cover from the early 1900s it's been covered by so many bands, and outlives it's times. Also, this wasn't maneskin singing this version, it was Madcon's version of beggin. Nonetheless, very awesome video :)
When you’re driving, like a responsible citizen, down the freeway with this song blasting through the speakers. Man... Frankie made the song timeless, luxurious, and cool. Don’t know who these strange cats are but I like the way they jam to the music. One of them reminds me of Jim Morrison with the way he’s dressed in leather.
Those cats did a cover of the song and it became a hit to the younger generation. I believe it was intended to be insulting when the person was blasting the original from their car-, basically implying that the original was better than their version. Those cats took it well though.
Why a cover does not reflexts a band? And they prepared the song to sound their way... This is not the only cover they managed to rearrange wonderfully. Their talent is also to rearrange a famous song in a way that is for sure not theirs but keeps some original identity and adds their own without "destroying" the original song into pieces. I think it is a special talent because most of the covers either destroy the original song or try to copy it 100%. Beggin is a proof that a good band can sing old songs adding identity without destroying.
All of these people in the comments acting like the video was an attack on Maneskin. It was lighthearted and fun, if it wasn't then no one would've been smiling or grooving to the music. Even the photographer took some photos of the car playing the song.

First version I heard was the Maneskin version my wife played for me. It was outstanding and the lead singers raspy voice kills. I'm old school so maybe their look is somewhat distracting to me, but I appreciate the groove.
Maneskin still sounds better than the original.If this was played to emabaress them remember that all of their other songs are originals. So who gives about this song 'Beggin'?

That's funny, the other day I was watching their ESC 2021 interview where they were asked if Maneskin meant "alcohol moonshine" & they explained it just means moonlight lmao
