I bought a 502 mainly because of your video (and others). It is very smooth on panings while others options aren't that good :).

Well, the second "con" is expected, the balance spring is set for 8 lbs, if you put something much lighter and with lower CG it will always do what you show. You need to increase the CG distance by installing a big spacer (like the Vinten Bluebridge) to use much smaller cameras.

The title of this video might confuse your viewers. I suggest you change it to "MVH502AH" because it's a flat base version of this video head. MVH502HD is a 75mm half ball.

Did you buy the head or was it on loan for the review...How does (if you know) the 500 AH head compare for DSLR use. Thanks....Nice video and well done....Philip

Uptown Photography I bought the 502HD head at the same time I bought the tripod, and put them together to make a complete video tripod. I have never used the 500AH so I couldn't honestly say anything about it. Thanks Philip!

Uptown Photography I really like the 502, it can handle all the weight I throw at it and it looks very professional out in public. It has always been very smooth and held up very well to the throwing around I have done to it. I wouldn't buy anything else. Especially for the price point.

+Fernando Veiga 055XPROB Tripod, the 502HD screws nicely onto the top of it. Pretty sturdy and good tripod.

I have this tripod and it's not that good. If you have a small video camera don't buy this, but it does work with my Sony pd170. The spring back function should not be on this unit.
