Hi everyone, mostly new viewers watching this. I would just like to point out, this video was released about a month before the horrible announcement of Act-Age's cancellation due to the unspeakable crimes of Tatsuya Matsuki. I won't go into details of what he did so as not to upset people, but it can easily be google searched if people are wanting answers. I do NOT in anyway condone his actions, nor do I wish to continue supporting Act-Age, for the sake of the victims involved and Shiro Usazaki, who's final decision was to have Act-Age cancelled. I've changed this video's thumbnail, which was originally Act-Age focused. As for getting rid of the Act-Age segment in the video, due to the frustrating cropping system youtube has, it makes it awkward to crop out the segment without the video being cut at very awkward stages, to the point it affected the other manga sections. Unfortunately, I am left to leave that segment in, but if anyone wishes to skip that part entirely, I would recommend doing so in all honesty. The timestamps are in the description to hopefully make this easier for you. Hope you guys understand!
I really really love act-age and fall in love from chapter 1. Im both sad and dissapointed at what the author did, and even more sad for uzasaki. What could be a series that sent her to a new height of her career now being cut short and become a stain instead. Hope she can find more opportunities in the future and keep on drawing. I really really love her drawing and see it's improvement throught every chapter.
@@kiggerst I have no idea what happened but That reminds me of the Ali band news with that “drummer” (They did beastars op and jujutsu kaisen ed) That drummer left a bad stain on the rest of the band I hope the band is able to recover from that
@@nagisa0931 an artist work directly supports them. If you want to separate that the only is to stop giving them any type of support of acknowledgement. You quite literally can't separate the art from the artist.
It’s not about separating the art from the artist it’s about retribution vs rehabilitation. We can’t change the prison system to be more effective at changing criminal behavior but reacting with hatred and punishment is definitely not helping solve the issue. Not a single one of us is any better than anyone else, it’s about critiquing behavior in a constructive way and working to correct it. Condemnation, even in the form of not supporting someone’s art and denying that they have or can still have value, is not bringing about good change.
Can I just say I'm so happy to see someone enjoy and recommend skip to loafer? It's such a good wholesome read. It was also nice to see another fan of dungeon meshi, because that one is a genuine favorite of mine!
Damn, reading the news about Act-Age's mangaka right after finding this video. It seems like such a cool idea and something that I would've loved to read. Such a shame, great video though. Love the recommendations
At the time it was actually my favourite manga within the WSJ magazine .... It's a real kick to the teeth but I hope the artist, Usazaki Shiro, comes back even stronger because I loved her work! Thanks for watching 😊
The levels of preparations you put into this video don't go unnoticed, I'm going to check them all out although none of them is my style, lol; PS, release part two asap.
I feel so happy to have found your channel, your taste in manga is completely different from mine and what I usually read, but I can feel the passion you have for the medium and the craft of the artist. Im truly humbled by your editing, more than showing your skill, I can feel your passion towards this series, as a beautiful form of showing respect. Thank you for this! I will definitely will follow your channels and the recommendations you have shared.
Yeah, it's incredible how she can make the viewers so hyped about such comfy series. As a Slice of Life fan, recommending these kind of series to other people without making them bored, is really difficult
Wonderful video! The transitions, the background music, your soothing narration... The amount of time and effort you put into it really paid off! It's times like these that make me wish I knew how to read 😪😪
I’m more than delighted of you including Skip to Loafer! It is really a unique manga with a great diversity of characters, each with their own personality, and not necessarily sticking to stereotypes! Thanks to the recent airing of the anime, it has started to gain a wider audience, which it totally deserves. What is even more refreshing (as stated in the video) are the different relationships between the characters, my favorite being Shima and Mitsumi and Mitsumi and Mika. Amazing video!! You’ve convinced me into reading all the recommendations! Good day!
This is a great video, thank you for the recs! Dungeon Meshi is also one of my favorite manga of all time and Skip to Loafer is a favorite too I'm glad to hear your favorite character is Nao! There recently was a lovely chapter about her and it made me cry a lot. ♡
Holy shit I actually found someone who also knows Blue Orchestra 😭😭 It's really good, the artstyle, story, everything. I really love it cuz the story is more focused on drama and the orchestra itself rather than some romance genre which I'm not interested to when the story is about music combined with romance, I'm more interested about the music :") It's sad that the manga itself is pretty underrated, I do think this manga really deserved an anime adaptation also thank you for recommending this manga to more people :D
Yotsuba, Dungeon Meshi, and Skip to Loafer are easily three of my favorite manga of all time! I'm definitely going to have to check out more of your manga recommendations in these videos because you clearly have excellent taste.
It puts a smile on my face whenever I come across channels like this. Specular video that didn't feel like just going down a list of things to check out ( tho don't worry I am definitely checking out mangas I havent read before like skip the loafer and our wonderful days! )
Thx for this video about lesser known Manga that are worth the read. The only one of these that i`ve read so far is Act-Age which is currently my favorite Manga that i really love, and your soothing narration and summary of each story makes me really want to read all of them.
It's no problem at all! Absolutely love Act-Age, easily my favourite in WSJ at the moment, and Yonagi is definitely a great main character! Thank you for the very nice comment, and I hope you enjoy the manga if you get around to reading them :)
@@linesinmotion Thanks, i think i`ll end up enjoying most if not all of the Manga in this video and i`m looking forward for more videos of you in the future.
OH MY GOD BLUE ORCHESTRA! One of my favorite mangas that I never hear anyone talk about. Really hopes it gets an anime or at least some music released for it.
Clearly very passionate about the series your discussing that it makes it hard not to start binge reading them all thank you very much for the suggestions and great vid loved the visuals and commentary very much 😊
Love your editing, your voice, the point you made, your recommendation, wait the minute.... basically all about your video haha. Wanna see your next part of manga recommendation. I wish you can include more of completed tittle instead of ongoing since I do have bad traits of quickly lose interest of wanted to watch / read more if I had to wait. Just my selfish wish haha. Anyway, all the best!!
Thank you so much! And you raise a good point actually, I'll take a look at the manga I was going to include for the next part and see what I can do! Thanks for watching :)
Love this! Now I really wanna read Act-Age and Yotsuba. Really enjoyed the editing and the detail you put into the summary of each story, really made me care about each one!
@@K.Dayana It was just incredibly bad timing that I released this video only a few weeks before this horrible announcement. Had I had known, Act-Age wouldn't have been in this video.
@@linesinmotion it's okay you didn't know. I've never read act age but after what the writer did I can't help but feel sad for those who read the manga. Hope you find a manga better than act age
@@K.Dayana It definitely wasn't the news many readers were expecting, many saw it trending and thought it was an anime announcement... I don't think anyone could have predicted this :( And there's a sea of manga out there! There's no doubt another manga will strike people's fancy just as much as this manga did !
I really like reading Skip to Loafer manga, it's filled with well written characters and focus on relationships among friends and strangers and not primary on romance and romance related drama. Once I knew there's an animation adaptation, I straight away search for it and just the anime opening theme with the dancing scene alone tells me that the story is in good hand.. Good Lawd that adorkable dance...
I see Dungeon Food and I MUST PUT A LIKE P.S.: I just finished the video and Skip to Loafer seems such a nice and comfortable read, I'll definitely give it a try!
Seeing the love Dungeon Meshi gets warms my heart, I'm so glad many others love it too. Skip to Loafer is definitely a comfortable read, I hope you enjoy it! 😊
Thank you so much for these recommendations! I started Witch Hat Atilier based on your video, and I think it might be one of my new all time favorites. The art is INCREDIBLE, I spend way more time than I usually do on each page appreciating the line work. And I would have never found Skip to Loafer if it weren’t for you video. Thank you for this channel!
I love how your video .. your voice ..the choice of music and how you narrate the story... There are many things i love .. that makes me want to read these mangas.. ... Please keep going .. God Bless .
You know sometimes after finishing an episode, you feel like it was just a minute or so? I honestly got the feeling after finishing your video which speaks for excellent and well made video it was. The music was fitting and I really appreciate that you took your time to explain each series . I really enjoyed it and you've earned a sub and notification bell ringer right here. I will be checking out your other videos and am looking forward to the part 2. Cheers!
Wow thank you for such a lovely comment. I'm glad it wasn't a drag and engaging enough - thanks for watching the video and the support, very much appreciated!
Holy shit, I just discovered this channel while searching for manga recommendations, and this video is super good! Love the editing and transitions, not expecting this level of quality from a small channel. Gonna watch all of the other videos now.
Two of my favourite manga have to be Shiori Experience and Shimanami Tasogare (Our dreams at dusk). Both are beautifully illustrated and tell such interesting and captivating stories.
I heard about your channel today as I was listening to the “BONSAI POPcast” podcast. After hearing the praise that they gave you, I got interested and looked up your channel. This manga recommendation video happened to be the first one I decided to watch, and wow - I am excited to go through the rest of your videos. 👍 And thanks to this video, I will be looking into Our Wonderful Days. Thank you for recommending it! :)
This video is incredibly well executed. I will read all of these (except Act-Age). Thank you for the recommendations. Also, make more videos! Subscribed.
Can vouch for Yotsuba - I wasn't super interested but gave it a shot anyway. I enjoyed EVERY moment of it. It's delightful, funny, and so charming! I'm going through a hard time and Yotsuba was a wonderful escape and such a relaxing, comfy experience. I know I'm going to pull it out and reread it when I'm having a particularly bad day.
Ive been reading dungeon meshi after seeing your video and i cant thank you enough.I love each and every character and the world they inhabit is so well thought out aswell. Thanks for the recommendation 👍
I loved act-age. But literally 2 days after reading it (and catching up) the news of the author being a terrible human came out. And now it's cancelled T^T
i'm so glad i found a manga enthusiast youtuber who has similar tastes to me!! i desperately love slice of life, so thank you for supplying me with more good mangas! i totally fell in love with your lovely editing and wonderful voice
Thank you so much for recommending Tsurezure Biyori. Just finished it (bought the kindle version, and jumped a bit between it and the scanlation), and wow, it really is so good, as you said the characters are amazing, and holy smokes it's really funny. It's now one of my favorite SoL, and I love how the romance developed as well, very natural. To those interested in Our Wonderful Days/Tsurezure Biyori, I truly recommend buying at least the digital version, not only are you supporting the author, but you'll get to see the bonus stories exclusive to the volumes, which you won't find scanlated (and they are a blast!). Also, as a big fan of Dungeon Meshi for more than 2 years, I must say you made a great pitch for it and described it very well. Edit: Mixed in my head the characters part from the Dungeon Meshi and Tsurezure Biyori segments, Tsurezure has great characters as well though.
I wanted to buy the Haikyuu manga only to realise it’s not published in my country, so I bought Witch Hat Atelier instead and, omg, I didn’t expect to like it so much! So if someone heard about that manga but wasn’t sure if picking it up, I can recommend it :)
your taste is so enlightened. thank you for forever changing the type of manga I look for, after reading all of these I agree that they are all absolutely beautiful
Yotsuba&! was made by Kiyohiko Azuma who also Azumanga Daioh which was one my first and favorite dvd of Anime i bought i find the anime fun and carefree most of this a very much the same, the fun and carefree part, have you ever read it or do you think more people have heard about it then Yotsuba! ?
I know a lot of people really like the Azumanga Daioh anime and probably know Azuma from that story rather than Yotsuba, but as far as I'm aware, he wasn't actually a fan of the anime which is kinda sad (and the reason we'll probably never get a yotsuba anime)... I'd say people have heard about Azumanga in the west more, but Yotsuba is pretty big in Japan - so it's probably the other way around over there.
@@linesinmotion i can't remember but back in 2006 i read an article that he did not like it due to the way a 4-koma manga did not translate will into the anime like a the jokes. not that he dislike the anime itself , but it was a long time ago i may have not be remember right as well with issue with the Japanese to English translation in the article. i am surprise that Yostuba! is still going strong. i just remember now about that creepy old teacher, he will not play will with the modern audience, i did not like him back then and i don't think the audience will give him a pass. anyways i read you notes and i give some of this a try like Our Wonderful Days, Blue Orchestra and Skip to Loafer, i try Skip to loafer first, also on a side note i saw the Owl house video its a good video and i agree with you the show is good
From this list i can guarantee that you'll enjoy Hananoi Kun to koi no Yamai, Sukinako ga megane wo wasureta and Shiori experience, first 2 are cute and sweet while the last has excellent art and story.
So awesome to see your recommendation cover Blue Orchestra. Sad to notice not much mention of the story. The story hit home my memories of my time in playing violin in orchestra. The moments that evoke strong emotions, such as the light(even strong) competition between friends and growth alongside classmate when hours of practice is heard from finally hitting that level of sync the conductor tried to guide everyone to realize. Your videos are incredibly edited and you have a calming voice that really invites your audience. Your videos have me curious as to what’d you think of Aki Irie’s, “Go with the clouds, north-by-northwest”. The artwork and panel flow is the most memorable in regards to “taking in the scenery”, like how it was reading Kaoru Mori’s “A Bride’s Story”. Looking forward to seeing more of your content ! :D
Another Blue Orchestra reader!! And I enjoy the story, but it's the characters and art that stood out a lot more for me, maybe because i'm well ... not so skilled with any instruments unlike yourself, so that was a little harder to me to be relatable (still an amazing story though!) And I'm currently reading Go with the clouds! It's so gorgeous, anything Aki Irie touches just flows so beautifully, i'm definitely going to be covering her and Kaoru Mori on my channel at one point, legends!
I hadn't actually heard of that channel till you mentioned now and I'm astonished i haven't!! The channel is amazing, thank you for putting it in my radar!
Have you read Yokohama Shopping Trip? It’s like the touch of melancholy version of how you describe wonderful days. Technically it’s called Mono no Aware. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mono_no_aware Edit: also, where’s part 2? 8)
I've read Yokohama Shopping Trip! It's a really nice calming story, lovely read when you just want to chill! And part 2 is being planned for the next upcoming months :)
Great video! I've read all these manga and love them all. Skip to Loafer is my favorite and i love Nao-chan sooo much! I love to see more of her interaction with Mika. and Mitsumi is just sooooo wholesome!! >.
I'm hoping to get the second part out in the next few months! My current video has taken longer than i thought haha, so it's pushed a few things back sadly - but it'll be here soon-ish!
