A hell of a 6th round pick, he was a hell of a flame. Take away the injuries and a lockout Mangiapane was a 20 goal scorer 4/5 years.

washington is loaded with good young players, the ovi record is a sideshow, caps closer too 2nd round in playoffs now, they made playoffs with scraps last year, now with experience and offense added so far, they are not done yet. good deal for both teams, caps may know oshie is done,he makes 5.75

mangipane's shoulder has been an issue for the last two seasons and i would also put him in the group that Blake Coleman was speaking of as "NOT" wanting to be in Calgary. moving him brings in a future piece opens a slot for either Peltier or someone else and honestly doesnt downgrade the team. this is such a win/win

great trade! now my question is if they don't move up or get an extra pick in at least the top15 do they try and get a Necas or Zegras along with a vet top 4 D guy just so we can at least be somewhat competitive or do they go all in sharks like tank season?

Kadri and Huberdeau came in and ensured a rebuild with their effort. They sunk the team and should not be surprised that the team went the direction it did.

The Flames need to make 3 or 4 more deals, Kadre, and others, to be competitive in the future. They need to cut more wasted salary and stock up on good picks, and they need to make good picks, unlike their pick today.

Skinner is intriguing for pick(s) but if we had to give a first for Monahan for just 1 year at 6 taking on 3 years at 9 would in my mind require way more than 1 first.

Now we have room for Pelletier on the left wing along with Huberdaeu, Prospisil and Sharangovich. Kadri, Backlund, Zary and Rooney down the center, Kuzmenko, Coleman, Coronato and Hunt or Duehr or Klapka on Right so we Still don't need a winger, We have 10. 11 if you want to play Greer on the 4th line. We need Defense or Center if you don't think Zary or Sharangovich will work out at center.

Why would the flames sign guys like that when they can get them free for less? Ceci would be free (good enough no sweetener) Mikayev got a sweetener Get Campbell at 30% retained with a sweetener! Not great contracts easily for free or with sweetener rather then struggle to sign a guy who doesn’t want to go there so overpay.

Move Huberdeau and you will be a Demi God ! Then all bad contacts will be gone. Kadri at least played good for a few months. Move Huberdeau and Anderson to Montreal for their first. Even for this year eating $5 million

Huberdeau currently has negative trade value, and since we are not a contender up against the cap, he is not hurting the team. The only person who is suffering from Huberdeau being here is Murray Edwards. It's best to wait for Huberdeau to start playing better, even if that takes years for that to happen.
