Mango Shrikhand, also known as Amrakhand, has a gorgeous colour, flavour and aroma and is prepared with hung curd (yogurt), Mango pulp and sugar as main ingredients. It’s hard to resist the temptation of this lip-smackingly good dessert. It is served with hot puris, but can also be enjoyed with chapatis or on its own on festivals, special occassions or just when you fancy a treat. For all those Shrikhand fans, Amrakhand is like icing on the cake 😊

★★★ Mango Shrikhand ★★★
➤ Serves: 3-4
➤ Ingredients:
• 2 cups - Greek Yogurt (Thick Full Fat Curd)
• 1 cup - Mango Pulp
• ¾ cup - Sugar - powdered (or to taste depending upon sweetness of Mango Pulp)
• ¼ tsp - Green Cardamom (Elaichi) Powder
• Some - Cashew Nuts, Almonds, Pistachios - finely chopped
1 cup = 250ml, 1 TBSP = 15ml, 1 tsp = 5ml
➤ Method:
• Place muslin cloth over a colander/strainer which is placed over a bowl and add Greek yogurt (Thick full fat curd).
• Tie the cloth and place heavy weight over it.
• Keep this in refrigerator for at least 10 hours.
• After 10 hours heat Mango pulp in a pan on low setting stirring continuously.
• Cook till mango pulp reduces down to a thick sauce. Be careful not to burn yourself as it splashes and is very hot.
• Let this cool down completely.
• After Mango pulp has completely cooled down, remove yogurt from refrigerator, untie muslin cloth and place yogurt in a bowl.
• Add powdered sugar, cooled Mango pulp, green cardamom powder and mix well.
• Refrigerate again for a further 2 hours before serving.
• After 2 hours, add some Mango Shrikhand in serving bowl and garnish with some finely chopped cashew nuts, almonds and pistachios.
• Enjoy with some hot puris!

_Your recipes add smile on my face_ … Didn’t know Mango pulp _to be reduced on heat_ prior adding to thickened yogurt off water content…. _Have you tried the same_ with making *Lavender milk to yogurt* …? Add Lavender flowers into milk and boil and then convert into yogurt…. 🎉 ✌️💐🙏🏼

Can you use canned mango pulp or does it have to be fresh. Living in the Uk so finding fresh mangoes isn’t very easy

Yes definitely you can use canned mango pulp. In fact, I have used canned Kesar Mango pulp in the video but you can also use canned Alphonso Mango pulp.
