You cannot use Parking Mode without a special cord connected to your fuse panel or using the OBD cord. With the cord you used, you get NO parking mode.

Thanks for sharing this! This is the first video that specifically mentioned a dashcam install like this working with the rear camera mirror option. Been searching for that info for a couple of months!

He won't have a camera for parking hooking up like that. You must use the OBD cable for the parking mode as it requires constant power.

hey now that you have had this a while is it worth it? i just ordered one but was concerned about having to have the app running non stop while driving.. can you connect and download videos recorded in case of a wreck.. what if the app was not running at the time.. it stays on the sd card correct? thanks for the video.. very detailed Thank you sir

Did you say you have to connect this every single time? I must’ve misunderstood you because it should only have to be connected one time and should always connect when you get in the car automatically.

Thanks for the detailed video. I was reading up on this and saw that parking mode only works if you use the OBD2 cable. Is that what you experienced as well?

I added a Thinkware cam to my 23 Silverado. I used fuse taps and I get parking mode. You tap a fuse that gets constant power and a second fuse that gets accessory power. So it's always powered, but when accessory mode turns off it goes into parking mode.

@@jaybythebae9432 I just bought a $4 circuit tester from harbor freight. Looks like a clear screwdriver with a pointy tip. You connect the clip to bare metal like a bolt or door hinge, then touch the metal contact on top of the fuse and if it lights up you have power. So connect the "bat" wire to one that's constantly powered and the "acc" wire to something that's only powered when the truck is running. Once you have the tool, it only takes a minute to sort out.

Does anyone know if this will be powered for parking monitoring? The FITCAMX model, which looks very similar calls for a special cable, but even that is a bit questionable.

NM. The pictures and some additional detail on the parking feature show the OBD plug needs to be used for parking.

They make a cord for specifically for Parking Mode that ties directly into my our fuse box. You don't need the OBD cord.
