Mangosteen is available in India. It is called Kokam phal in Maharashtra.😊

It's NOT the same. Mangosteen is a fruit, the fruit inside it which you eat is white in colour and looks like a garlic pod.

No this is not kokam… mangosteen’s outer part can’t be eaten… and only white part can be eaten and it is sweet inside… Kokam is fully edible and it’s sour…

Mangosteen is commonly grows in Tripura and other north eastern states too. Though it is light yellow in color. We call it “Kusumai” in our Kokborok language.

MN we were getting them for 2.50 each again at the grocery I was working.. My colleague introduced me to it, I was buying 2 every break day that I was working. After one week I didn't buy anymore. She asked me why I said that money I can go to Thailand where they were coming from; and I can eat a whole basket daily; lol 😅

Mangosteen is also found in India as well, we eat the fruit in that particular season, and we store the peel by sun drying it to use it in all other seasons 😂.
