@@oldbatwit5102 Yeah I know, people not able to maintain even a mortgage for a bungalow usually do feel like that for those keeping up with red tape, interest rates, property tax, silly codes, technical infrastructure and tenants neither willing nor capable of keeping it all at least in working condition .... But never mind, when You hate Your landlord, You always can just move, can't You? That is a pretty big advantage I'd say.

I'm not sure about the rest of Japan, but the town I live in uses septics due to the frequency of earthquakes. I hear these guys yammering outside one day and see the guy with hose covered. They asked if I would not use wipes in the toilet' I was confused because the toilet has a bidet and paper. Turns out the missus was flushing bins of them after cleaning her face daily. I felt terrible and offered him the use of the shower. He declined, so I gave them a bottle of whiskey. Don't use wipes. I'm out a 4000 yen bottle of good drink because of it 😂

There should be an added charge for people who flush wipes - especially that kind of quantity. If they don't want to use paper, they should get a bidet and have a bum shower instead

Andy, there would be a problem with a shared manhole when trying to establish who was responsible. It's a very frustrating situation, but I think the legislators have to think about banning non biodegradable wipes. In this day and age we shouldn't be putting anything that won't degrade naturally into the sewer or drainage system.

@@Brian67859 so called flushable wipes are not flushable, ask any plumber. Any person flushing anything other than toilet paper down a toilet should be 100% responsible for any issues that causes.

Great as usual, had run in with my own blocked drain and thought at least no wipes.... as on septic tank and watch you, so guys come out I've got water ready hatches open route pointed out and gush sorted by company to have them say WIPES... ha can't be I've been here for 5 years and nobody has used wipes what a con .... until he showed me 6 years the wipes must have been in the pipes just waiting for the big block. One apology later a full tank of water and he fled to rescue another. So just because you don't use wipes ..they can wait for years to attack. Just remember the three P’s: poop pee and paper. If you’re going to use wipes put them in the garbage in your bathroom in a lined bin and throw them out. That way you will never have to revisit what you thought was gone forever. Brilliant video, a little bit of everything. Thought the roots were epic. Best Paul I’ve seen for a while. Joe, you are giving Jem a run for his money.

People should be fined and taught how thankful they should be to have running water and working sewage system!

First the wipes would need to be labeled "unflushable", and laws altered to support that. Plumbers couldn't issue fines, so they would need call an inspector. A fine, by law, has to be contestable. Hence the inspector would have to gather evidence including, potentially, a sample of the sewage including wipes. That would need evidential storage. Everything would have to be rock solid if the fine was contested in court including the plumber being called as a witness. 3 countries, the UK, New Zealand and Australia, have tried to address flushable wipes and failed. For example the UK fatberg incident of 2013 concluded 3 contaminants added equally to the blockage - cooking fats, food solids, and wipes. This determination pretty ensured any future legislative path would fail. Wipes manufacturers have usually submitted their wipes to legally accredited testing laboratories to test for biodegradability....and passed.

Here in the philippines, most people use bidets. So we dont have that problem. Though we do have plumbers who clean drains but mostly they clean the grease build up from restaurants.

That root was bonkers. Kudos to Joe for lifting it out in one go with just the claw. The wipes were insane too, serious quantity flushed. Get yourselves a packet of nappy bags and keep them in the bathroom, it’s better for your drains to put the used wipes in the bag! And finally, was your customer Ozzy Osborne? Sounded rightly like him!

Wow this is very reminiscent of your very first video Joe! I think the first one had way more wipes but had terrible camera angle. First one is still astonishing though and my absolute favourite but I'd only rate it maybe a 7/10 . This one is way better quality and includes roots so 9.5/10 (0.5 points taken off because I think this wasn't the most wipes you've encountered/removed). Great job and thanks for giving the roots a size comparison to show how big it really was!

Some people treat their toilets as a dustbin. Never seen so many wipes. The screens will be busy at the sewage works removing some of what you couldn't take back to the laboratory.
