FYI.. If you are not familiar with Dubai, it is mostly reclamated areas and a Filipino Engineer was one of the heads of building Dubai into how it is now. And currently, that Engr has been commissioned by the current gov't to do exactly what he has done in the middle East. So don't worry
FYI.. Coconut Palace was built during the time of Pres. Marcos Sr. The father of current Pres. During the 70 s and the 80s, it was where the first couple would hold dinners for the foreign dignitaries who visit the Philippines and its main purpose was to show them the cultures of the Philippines.
@@lalaking.chinupa.sa.trosohan Nag share lang naman po siya ng information, kaya FYI. Not necessarily may nagtatanong. Di po dapat inaapply dito ang katarayan ng mga pinoy kapag ginagamit ang "FYI" 😂
FYI TOO.. he dont give a fuck of what you are saying.. all he was saying is that the beautiful seaside is gone.. and it ruined the resort or hotel that hes been used to check in..and For Your Information? thats the information sit down and drink your cup of tea grandma and get out of social media..
Mergim -- Joni Mitchel's "They paved paradise / and put up a parking lot" song, comes to mind. That reclamation project looks obscene. Thank goodness SM can't pave sunsets. Thank you for the walk.
Nice walk😎...Next Filinvest Alabang. Explore the area. Walk from the quiet Filinvest Central Park to Alabang Town Center mall and Molito Lifestyle center...
The entire place where you've been today is all reclaimed area. From the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Star City, PICC, Sofitel, & so on. What a stunning view at 22:32 of Manila Bay & the boulevard’s skyline !
There are four reclamation projects in that area of Manila Bay. First, the New Manila International Airport, also known as Bulacan International Airport; then, the Horizon Manila, a new smart international city; then, the extension of SM City Seaside or Pasay Harbor City; and finally, the Manila Waterfront. The second through fourth projects are projected to be finished by 2028-2029. It is all part of decongesting the city of Maynila to bring its old glory back. If you are not aware, the city of Maynila is the capital of the Philippines, so the national government wants it to be a world-class city again.
Correction, that's 46 reclamation projects in totality from that stretch of Manila Bay all the way to Bulakan Bulacan where the San Miguel Aeropolis and Navotas Coastal Bay Development are located.
Even if you don't plan the visit of those places, or you're just free roaming around that area your video still amazing, I'm one your avid subscriber, watch your new video always.

Stunning sunset! One of the buildings in Manila Bay was the project of my father😊 Sir Mergim that guy was asking for your stickers, the best and effective way to advertise. You may wanna see your sticker to private cars, mobile phones, notebooks, and many more😊
There's a lot of reclamation projects in that area of Manila Bay. There's the SM-Pasay 360 reclamation, Pasay Harbour reclamation, Manila Solar city project, etc.
Metro Manila would probably add additional 100+ sq. km land area as for different Land reclamation take place. the reclamation is another huge mega Project to rise in the Philippine Capital Region for a means of its Urban Expansion which Pasay Harbour, SM City , Solar City Manila, Horizon Manila, Water front City, Navotas Costal bay, New Manila Int'Airport to name the Few. these future CBDs and township will host additional and more advance, well developed, well designed and smart CBDs that homes with Lifestyle districts, Tourism, Business and sports. also it houses with Tall and Modern iconic Skyscrapers since its already off in restriction of height that rise to the horizon of Manila Bay. 8-10 years from now MANILA would be more Stunning and one of the advance Modern Capital in the Planet.
Good job. Can you please vlog about aseana city and the surrounding area so people would know what’s happening and have ideas on what’s the future will be like
If you want to enjoy the most beautiful view of the Manila Bay sunset surrounded by the Ocean while drinking coffee try to take a lunch at Harbor View restaurant located at the back of US Embassy at Roxas Bldv Manila besides Manila Ocean Park
Mergim, go to the National Museum. There are three buildings that you can visit and learn some of the Philippine history and culture. It'ss just near Rizal park.
Coconut palace- designed by Architect Bobby Mañosa of which he conceptualize the structure to be in tropical design using the whole coconut tree as material for its structure
Good job Mergim. Looking forward to see more of this type of video. Neglected iconic buildings, parks, and more. This will help the investors to find good places and develop it once again into booming district or area. Thanks a lot Mergim.
Kudos mergim, for taking extra mile and feature the reclaimed lang of manila all those huge buildings mostly government centers in the era 70's to 80's when international fairs, exhibits, conferences, gatherings, conventions were held eg; philippine internationak convention center, folk art theater, manila international film center, sofitel - use to be The Philippine Plaza Hotel, GSIS, where the senate presently housed, world trade center, phil. International convention center, Cultural center of the philippines and a lot more all this are reclaimed area from manila bay including okada, moa and all the bay area ...
That place you were in was the first reclamation project during 70's. Intended for gov't. use... The current reclamation , one by SM group and one by govt. to become site for a new modern city
That dilapidated building you've been through was the former Manila Film Center. during the construction of that building hundreds of construction workers were buried alive under the quick-drying cement when the scaffolding supporting the slab for concrete pouring collapsed. When we were young, it was our dream to experience watching foreign movies (Rated R Films) from abroad that the government allowed to be shown😁 sad to see the present condition of that building that was once a showcase and one of the Grandeur buildings including the Coconut Palace, Cultural Center of the Philippines and the Folk Arts Theater of the Philippines.
Bad history w that place. It's a mass grave. Haunted and cursed. You should read about it. Been inside many times while it was still functioning as a Film Center. Creepy place.
Bawal Pumasok means no trespassing or Do not Enter”. Mergim be careful Mister but you are one of a kind adventurer surely go to places almost no people go so you are unique!!
Thanks for this video. My gf and I use to work in Sofitel, hang out walking around this area, watching sunsets and all 🥹 Thanks to you, we felt we are back there !!! 🤩 Btw, we absolutely love your videos, keep it up 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Wow I love to watch your random video Mergim. Very interesting to see places like this and being a filipina missing to be home..this comforts me. Looking forward for the next one. Takecare always and enjoy your stay in the Philippines.
Let’s trust the process. I believe it will turn out great! Create better iconic structures, more jobs, elevate the modern filipino lifestyle and boost the economy more! Several reclamation projects are taking place in Manila Bay right at this moment and I look forward to seeing how Manila brings back its lost glory. 15:10
The Coconut Palace was built during the 70’s on the time of the old Marcos which is the father of the current president, your lucky to end the vlog with a beautiful sunset bro.👍
The Coconut Palace was built in 70's by Marcos Sr. administration. Materials used are mostly came from coconut tree to showcase local materials. That was a brainchild of the former First Lady, the mother if the current President, Marcos Jr.. It was intended for the 1982 visit of the Pope and other tourism functions
Just finished watching your vlog again, sir 🤗. Thanks for always touring us around. Been missing the PH😊 Enjoy your adventures 🥂 Sending support from Kimchiboi TV. Watching from S Korea 🇰🇷❤️
Hi Mergim, it was so interesting watching you vlogg places around Pasay that you went through, that I myself never been to. I was able to see how it looks. There are places along the Manila Bay that I know from news are under reclamation. That nice sunset at the end of your vlogg was really a nice experience for you. With the tall bldgs and the bright yellow reflection from the sun looks like a water painting as you said.Hope to see more of this kind of contents in your vlog. Thank you for showing us places that we've not been to.
Good day Mergim! So much info about the future of the reclamation project and the history of the palace and the film center! Not to mention the flower;kalachuchi, plumeria or frangipani. Very inteteresting reararch!
I was waiting for you to film Sofitel and it's upsetting seeing the land reclamation since I wanted to stay at Sofitel this summer and even Okada isn't an option anymore as well. Hopefully, there's another hotel that isn't affected by the reclamation project that still has an amazing view of the Manila Bay :(
I just love the way you are talking, so natural and spontaneous. Your choice of words are just appropriate and understandable. I enjoy watching and listening to your videos. 😊
i also like this kind of video, more of an adventure but always be safe on anywhere you go...i once went there at that bay a long time ago with my ex after having fun at star city...
@Mergrim, That area you featured on your content is a government owned land & property and many Government institutions offices are on that area. During its prime in 1970's under Marcos Sr & His wife Imelda, that place was built as Center of Culture and Arts & Convention center of the Philippines, and that old dilapidated building you saw is the Film Center, which has a bitter sweet story. The Land reclamation that you saw at the back of the Sea Scape building is just one of many ongoing Land reclamation projects along the Manila Bay area,. 5 to 10 years from now, a new high rise, office buildings & commercial establishments will be built on the area.
What a way to end the video... The famous Manila bay sunset. We used to drive along Roxas Boulevard to catch the sunset during the late 80s... The reclamation has affected Pasay, it's was beautiful then with the sea now it's just this big expanse of land... Time will tell if we made the right decision to push the sea farther. Thanks 🥰 you brought back memories of Manila during my college days. Maybe you can visit the National Library it's a beautiful structure where we used to hang out when we want to go out but have no money to go to the mall ☺️
It’s a reclamation area, about 361 Hectars it started about last October 2022 I’m not sure if you know that, Mall of Asia, is a reclaimed land it’s use to be part of the sea.
i used to jog there everyday. that road is closed during sundays sometimes Saturdays. you can see a lot of students there jogging walking and sometimes studying
The coastline of Manila Bay used to be at Taft Avenue but reclamation brought to it where it is now, Roxas Blvd (formerly Dewey Blvd) which formerly stretches up to Domestic Road and then connected to the Coastal Road stretching up to Bacoor and finally Cavitex which stretches up to the road leading to the former Island Cove.
Mergim's Vlog is pure unscripted and unplanned adventure. A true adventure vlog. I admire your patience in walking the places there. Hehehe. When I/we go there we take our motorcycles or cars to go along places there. Hehehe. Thank you for taking the time there. 👍❤️👍❤️
5 to 10 yrs from it will be totally different modern area. Even the sofitel in origin is use to be part of the manila bay. Sofitel is also a reclaimed area.
