Been blessed to see the immaculately beautiful Manila during the 1980's kunti pa lang ang malls noon at wlang maxadong basura. I like the old Manila of yesteryears
I definitely would always want to come home to THIS Manila, but not today's Manila. Seriously, how are we gonna take this city back to its former glory?
Visited Manila twice in 1971 (military business, while assigned to Vietnam) and loved the city. Felt refreshed and invigorated for the return to the war zone. Last time I visited was in 2015 -- not the same place at all (which can be said for so many places these days, anywhere in the world). But the Filipino people -- especially in the smaller cities and towns -- are still just absolutely lovely. Loved 'em as a young guy; and still do, as an old fart I am! 😍
it's look like a foreign country i remember when i was a kid ridding in a jeepney sarao only,, and my mom bought me a toy in divisoria we ate at the ramon lee resto i loved the foods especially the price and ung burger malaki parang pizza
meron na..hindi ko na lang imemention ang names ng mga corrupt nuon. when it comes to the economy, medyo ok pa nuon and that is because of the bell trade act na naging laurel-langley agreement nuong 1955. It gave the americans the right to freely establish their businesses here. unfortunately may taning ang agreement na yun - until July 3, 1974 lang. hindi na rin na-extend yung agreement dahil sa sentimyento ng mga "ultra-nationalistic" na mga personalities sa pinas at that time; according to them parang hindi pa din pala tayo malaya sa mga kano because of the said law.
This is was AFTER World War 2. And BEFORE communists' and liberals' political terror attacks went into full swing. 1958 was the Philippines' peak. We were above many of our Asian neighbors. And to think that the country was just recovering back then
I love Manila, talaga, :)
Today, Manila is Undergoing to Getting Beautiful Once Again Thanks to New and Best Mayor of Manila, Soon, In The Next Years, The Manila will be Mixing European Cities for Historic Areas Such as Intramuros, Rizal Park, Escolta, and Some Parts of Binondo and New York-Like Cities for Downtown Areas Such as Ermita, Malate, Some Parts of Binondo and Beyond.
pearl of the orient pa ang tawag sa bansa natin noon. sa ala ala nalang natin balikan ang old manila... saying nasira ang bansa natin at Lalo pang masisira kung si Binay,Roxas and magiging president.
I watched this to see and appreciate what Mayor Isko is doing right now. I think the mayor's ultimate goal is somehow like this video. Keep up the good job Mayor Isko. I wonder how many other people will watch this video to also see and appreciate what Mayor Isko is currently doing?
@@creamtail honey lacuna can continue what he started...isko has more plan for the Philippines and he just show the foot print on what he did in manila and he wants to do the same in the whole Philippines.
And if I may add, perhaps more people who live in the Philippines should understand that **Democracy entails responsibility and accountability. It is NOT freedom to do anything you want.**
Blame the Increasing Condos, Commercial Establishment, Big Malls Where all their Waste Go Straight to the Pasig River. Nothing Can be DONE Because of this Greedy Mayors of The Cities of Metro Manila. All for the Money.

When we were kids those days in the '70s we used to play out in the streets all day till night and hindi masusunog ang balat mo sa araw. Ngayon lumabas ka ng bahay sisiklab ka na lang in balls of fire
Wow....! Cheers for sharing keep safe and healthy.
This was the time where Manila was not so populated yet. No plastics littered on the streets, no houses near the river banks as well as along the seashores. Everything was organized. Those were the days.
So what happened to Manila is the current demise of the city due mainly to it's overpopulated status ? I also noticed how clean the city itself looked in these pics and it's anything but clean now.
1950..those years where most of the bosses and professors were Spanish and Americans,1970's naabutan ko sa public school and English teacher namin was FilAm! very Good!
So sad, in 1950 Thailand had 40million people, while Philippines had 50 million people. Today, 2018, Thailand 60million people, Philippines 105million Filipinos. Thanks to Damaso, nakikialam sa family planning, gusto, family planting. Mayroon bang public school run by priest & nun? Sa tinggin ko wala. Pero mga private schools run by them, ubod ng mahal ang tuition fee. What else is new. Is a pang obserbasyon, sa Lugar Kung may Sakuna oh Bagyo, never ako nakakita ng Pari oh madre tumutulong sa evacuation center!!!
wow no traffic in manila bay :000000000 thats amazing wow save the best place the manila we want the old manila back :D and manila look spain or russia look at the cars we look like spain who agree?
Ganda ng mga jeepney noon. Same size at look.
