What you've written here is true. Every word of it. Atrocities committed towards the meiteis are even worse. But at the end of the day, there has to be a dialogue. Whether you want separate administration or a separate country is what you wish or demand. We, meiteis, wish the same. A complete cut off with the kuki community. Using derogatory comments and remarks is equally being done to the meiteis as well. Its been too long and that is the only reason why we want peace. It is half hearted of course, I mean, who would want to live together with a community that has had the audacity to justify daylight slaughter of young girls and even old men who are mere farmers? And I know we were also called 'rapist community' '650km sq ft' 'ngaripur' Every side has a story to tell. For the meiteis it is not only about the mass slaughter and the displacement of villagers, it's also about our history and our indigeneity. Years ago meitei pilgrimages were banned from worshipping the koubru hill which strongly hurt the religious and spiritual sentiment of the meiteis. Imagine being original occupants of a land and being threatened by some outsiders for years. And this had been going on way before the actual conflict. So there's that. However setting everything aside , we, the stakeholders, (now that you've already been part of Manipur for years ) need a political dialogue.
