Only around 8 months on another foreign tour RG had berated India's position on Ukraine-Russia conflict. At that time, quite bizarrely, he had drawn equivalence with China's aggression on the LAC, and then proceeded to say that if India did not adopt the EU's position supporting Ukraine, then it will give free pass to China to enter into our territory. Of course, RG's take on foreign policy and diplomacy ended where it is worth keeping! Finding that experience and practical reality has fully justified India's stand, RG just made a silent and unabashed U-turn from his previous view (infact, he started this U-turn at his recent US trip). You will get both these reactions of RG if you do a simple search on youtube.

Causes like poverty, poor infrastructure, lack of development, lack of future for their children. If these fundamentals are not addressed all we will have is a lot of activity with no real progress. But you have ignored the fact that during the tenth year of being out of power, congress has not engaged any constructive opposition to this government’s policies in the parliament or out of parliament. While you mentioned BJP stand when they were in opposition on famous Nuclear deal on which Manmohan Singh had staked his government continuity and FDI in retail. Both were being pursued by BJP while in power however they opposed it while in opposition. Now, while you were in favour of farm law by NDA government as progressive step, however, Congress opposed it to hilt as opposition party.... You never said a word... Further, Modi while he was campaigning in 2014, I don't recall if he went out of India to criticize congress government or UPA policies. We are witnessing a new trend where Rahul Gandi travels abroad with Sam Pittoda beside and leaves no opportunity to criticize the government of day, to the extent that he invited intervention of western states to safeguard Indian democracy. I remember, had requested for your views on what Rahul Gandhi says abroad. Never happend as it may not have been of your interest... Dude! the core purpose of Indian parliament is to debate policy matters (including foreign policies & treaties). There is nothing wrong in it. In fact, not discussing matters in parliament should mean breaking of democracy the other round. Government and opposition relationship is not broken today because DISAGREEMENTS between BJP and Congress. That is expected to exist. The relationship is broken/vitiated because Congress is approaching foreign players and that too some very questionable elements (like Soros) who have track record of being again India (not BJP) to destabilize the government. Please tell me when has BJP done the same. In fact on the contrary, I personally remember that Jaitley had come to US in the midst of massive 2g, CWG, Coalgate scams, yet he refused to criticize the government of the day from foreign when someone asked him a pointed question. That has changed now. Your masters have started indulging in treachery, which you are trying to hide. Slow claps for your efforts. 2. Shekhar ji also cunningly misleads his audience about BJP's object on nuclear treaty with America. The BJP was not against building stronger relationship with America (unlike Left), BJP's only concern was liability clause. Well you can blame them for being too paranoid but what you're hiding is that their fear was based on our past experience of how Congress party had escorted Warren Escorted in government car out of India after bhopal gas tragedy. The congress government itself helped him scape Indian law. Hence liability issues with nuclear plants should make anyone get concerned. Similarly BJP was not simply opposed to any of the other policies (like Bangladesh border settlement or FDI in muti brand retail). At that time, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj some of best orators in Indian politics very clearly and specifically outlined what exactly BJP opposed in these policies. But if you listen to Congress party workers like Shekhar Gupta, you will think that BJP just mindlessly opposed these policies. I clearly remember that BJP saw that Shekhar ji and his colleagues in the media were mischaracterizing BJP's parliamentary debates then they conducted several hours of press conferences during debate on both these policies to explain in detail what they find objectionable, however, most of the media outlets did not even cover it properly. 3. Lastly, in his desperation to create a positive picture of Congress party, Shekhar ji again incorrectly propagates that PV Narsimha Rao opened the Indian economy despite opposition from Congress and BJP. This is a blatant lie which has been challenged several times, yet he continues to lie over and over again. Socialist/Communist policies by Congress party over decades, and specifically Rajiv Gandhi gov's mismanagement had pushed India on verge of being declared a bankrupt country. India's gold was being mortgaged, which is a pretty humiliating state for any self respecting society. In exchange of saving Indian economy, IMF had put up series of conditions for economic reforms to pull India out of Congress parties socialist economies to more liberal policies. IMF literally wrote down all these reforms and a document and handed to Indian government and asked them to implement these a pre-condition for economic bailout. Indian politicians had no options but to comply. The cow they had been milking was about to die. You can only loot a country's economy if there exists the economy. The economy itself was about to die. Even Lalu prasad yaday would have passed the same reforms that there was no option. The drafting of these reforms had already begun even prior to the PV Narsimha rao government. That's why they could start rolling out reforms almost immediately after coming to power. So please save us from this crap that MMS or PV Narsimha rao did something from their mind/motivation. If that would have been the case then MMS would not have been a disaster when he became the PM. MMS is an overrated economist and underrated politician. We cannot give brownie points to congress for 1991 economic reforms since it was Rajiv Gandhi Import substitution policy which decreased our forex reserve and made us beggars. Infact congress brought entire blame on Chandersekhar government but it was Congress fault.
Guptaji seems to conveniently forget Vajpayee leading the Kashmir delgation to UN , supporting congress govt on no-confidence motion brought on by the communist parties of india and many other gestures and quotes only where they opposed specific clauses of the MMS foreign policy. This seems quite deliberate choice. Rahul hobnobbing with anti-India elements should elicit very strong condemnation but he does not seem to have the stomach to do it. It appears that the Congress party is exhibiting some inconsistency in their approach to India's foreign policy. To put it succinctly, they seem uncertain about the stance to adopt regarding our foreign policy. On one hand, they align with the government's positions, while on the other, they critique the government on matters of lesser consequence. Their position on our country's foreign policy appears somewhat ambiguous, and it appears that their criticism of the government may be more for the sake of criticism, which I find somewhat perplexing.
What is so surprising. Modi made that infamous 56 inch remark regarding chinese patrol in Indian claimed territory. What did he do after coming to power ? Carried on the same way as previous govts within the space afforded by Indian's geo-political power.
