Wow...i know this...It's called Stick training to condition your nerves all over the body. During fights when he gets punch he won't feel that much pain. This stuff is not for the timid.
MrBooleanGuy Actually it's kinda both , it makes the nerves more accustomed to that feeling so that the receptors will feel transmit lesser pain signal to the brain when you get hit with a real punch as well as training the bones .
to all those asking themselves why does it hurt so much there's only one way to find out. Get a stick and hit your abs, after a little it hurts, when someone else does it to you it hurts even more.
no it wasnt, only the second set was aimed at his right side(where your liver is) and he still felt just as much pain in the arms and on the left side of his body, plus it wasnt targeting his liver it was meant to be aimed at his abdominal muscles
MR. Skull I tried it on myself with the exact same type of stick and it really did hurt. (The wooden stick is solid and heavy.) I remember seeing this from his trainings from way back and thought to myself that it won't hurt at all.. I was wrong.

@@ruffgodz9543 Lmao no he didn't.. It was a close fight and Ugas won by a margin. Guarantee that Ugas felt the physical results the next day, as anyone who went 12 rounds with Manny would. Also an important thing to note is that Manny has more sportsmanship and doesn't use dirty tactics like Ugas. So I still stand by what I said 2 years ago.

I love this pain back when I was training combat karate and jiu-jitsu my teacher conditions us with this but with flat bamboo stick taped in one side so it would provide sound but this is next level. Pacquiao's intensive training is above normal. To the point that even if God is with you, you can say "SHET.... FUCK" KEKW

Yeah but even if he strengthens his muscles and pain tolerance his breathing still gets affected. He took off his mouthpiece to breathe during the fight. He needs to make sure he doesn't get hit so cleanly.
Kursor Everybody needs not to get hit cleanly. But in the sports, we don't have any assurance that you won't get hit. So the next best thing is to train the body. If you're weak in one area, then you need to toughen up that specific area a little more than other areas.
They are not hitting the muscles (for the abs I believe they are hitting the lower part of the rib cage) but the bones to create micro fractures on the surface of the bones. Then it heals and grows stronger and harder bones. Many martial arts (like karate) use similar methods to train body parts and make them harder for the offensive and defensive purposes.

I couldn't take a continuous ten seconds of that, it hurts like hell, and it seems in this video, Manny is getting hit on the liver, which is the part of the body that would hurt the most when hit directly, it's like getting hit on the balls except the pain in the balls to stays longer. Try doing it yourself, get a thick and strong stick like in this video and then tap away.
