I don't understand why most people seem to shit on this album. It had Sleipnir, it had King of Kings, Odin, Loki God of Fire, Sons of Odin...it was amazing. Yeah the concept narration might annoy some people, but that's what the skip forward button is for. I can understand being underwhelmed by Lord of Steel, but not by Gods of War.
Loki God of Fire kinda sucks tbh I honestly prefer Gods of War but you're right about the rest. It's just the huge amount of "filler" I guess. The title tracks of Lord of Steel and Warriors of the World are good IMO but both those albums suck compared to this.
Fatal Oath I actually didn't like Loki God of Fire at first. It only grew on me in recent years. It's a thing that happens to me often: a song on an album that I don't particularly care for but listen to anyway because I'm too lazy to skip forward, and after a while I suddenly love it. Warriors of the World has some weird songs on it that break the flow of the album IMO. But if you take out An American Trilogy, the Fight for Freedom and Nessun Dorma, it's a pretty kickass album with one of my favourite Manowar songs: Swords in the Wind Lord of Steel to me has a weird sound quality and is overally probably the weakest Manowar album, but it does have some of Manowar's last gems IMO with songs like Righteous Glory and Touch the Sky. I also like Born in a Grave, but I could very well understand if people hate this song for being too cheesy even for Manowar-standarts.
Yeah I forgot to say Born in a Grave is pretty good. To me Loki God of Fire is pretty corny/cheesy. The rest of the album seems pretty in tune with Norse mythology
I'm telling you, Odin might be waiting for you, but he sends you to responsibility. One Man was hung on a cross for us all. He has acquired the Highest reward. And He was righteous, being righteous He destroyed death. Because death only has power over the unrighteous. So you better recognize His authority. His Father gave Him all authority. He gives to who He wants. He said, believe Me and you will receive grace to everlasting life. Don't believe me, believe Him. He said it, and I'm just here to spread the message. He was hung for righteousness. To settle the demand of our death, she nce we have sinned and the accuser demands justice. He interceded for us in this way. He was willingly our sacrifice to justify our live. Be baptized in His Name, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. One Name. And you will be dead to sin and born into new life. A rebirth of Spirit that will inherit what is to come.
Ive listened to Manowar for 15 years now, but its ben a while. Everytime i feel like i need to be in a good place, or need to boost morale and kick some ass! IM HERE. THANKS MANOWAR! Greetings from Norway.
Consequently, I happen to be somewhat of a gamer. I have a private play through of a game called Conan Exiles. In this game, I’ve spent weeks crafting my character to the point that he resembles the god Odin. Just thought I’d throw that little detail in there.
Most of their songs are decent to bloody good... I have been a fan since the first album Battle Hymns. Had them all... Lost so much in a house fire... Nothing lasts, this is a fact.
Bullshit. That replay button was forged out of the densest metal in the universe by the very gods of metal themselves. Now shut up and keep clicking replay!
Hmm... sounds like a good name for my horse in Red Dead Redemption 2... This song gives me chills like you wouldn't believe. Long live the mighty Manowar 🤘🤘🤘
Santa Claus was based on Odin. His 8-legged Flying Steed was Sleipnir. Sounds like SLEIGH to me! SLEIGH...SLEIPNIR!!! 8 legs morphed into 8 reindeer. Huzzah!!!
That was actually not a bad idea or addaption if u cach my drift the christians tok "Nissen" Santa clause from northen mytology in to the church just so the heathens will follow christ .... thats why u see a "christmas three in church today to . =) happy new year man =)
He is descended from giants. His father Loki God of fire, is the sworn blood brother to Odin himself. He rides across land, sea and air From the land of the living, to the land of The dead. This eight legged steed crosses eight Points of the compass, from eight directions Into eight dimensions. He is bringer of the Valiant dead from the battlefield to Valhalla Carry we who die in battle Over land and sea Across the rainbow bridge to Valhalla Odin's waiting for me He was born of giants His icy coat is grey At night he rides into the world of death The living by day One day on his back I shall ride From the battlefield into the sky Borne by Valkyries we valiant dead Into the hall of heroes shall be led Ride down from Asgard To the battlefield Bringer of the valiant dead Who died but never yielded Carry we who die in battle Over land and sea Across the rainbow bridge to Valhalla Odin's waiting for me Faster then the fastest horse alive The living son of fire rides From the halls of Asgard across the sky To the world of gods and men Eight legs and magic runes Carved upon his teeth Thunder and lightning Sound beneath his feet On his back the war god Odin rides Sword and magic spear held high Ride down from Asgard To the battlefield Bringer of the valiant dead Who died but never yielded Carry we who die in battle Over land and sea Across the rainbow bridge to Valhalla Odin's waiting for me
Actually it would be quite practical. The horse would be bigger and proportioned, and as long as the legs are perfectly syncronized, you'd have more than twice the force with every step, every leap, making a real-life Sleipnir effectively the fastest horse alive.
Great song!!! There's a fairly new UK band called 'Forlorn Hope' well worth checking out. They focus on historical military themed. They have 1 album out at the moment called 'Over the Hills' which deals with the Napoleonic war.
