@@JHEntertainment98 That, along with a Hostile Work Environment (Which was also the Main Cause for his Termination). He treated the Animators and Storyboard-Artists like literal slaves due to his insane-unhinged Perfectionism. - Side note: Nick had already banned this episode beforehand because there was just no way they could air it at the time without having “Parents freaking out/losing advertisers” . So John went behind their necks and basically leaked it as a VHS Tape into the public. With this of course, Being the ACTUAL LAST STRAW for Nick with John, He was ultimately kicked out of the show.
I talked to Ron Zorman about this cartoon a while back. He animated the last part of the couch sequence (5:49-6:30). He recalled that his animation was messed up because John K. was pulling out frames to speed up the timing, which in turn ruined the edits between the shots. Cutting frames wasn't necessarily a bad decision on John's part. Tex Avery did that all the time when he was directing cartoons at MGM. That's one of the reasons why those films are so fast-paced.
@@TheCoolProfessor in all fairness, the man probably gets asked about him a lot, so i guess he’s just sick of hearing about him. i mean, who wouldn’t? lmao
“Yes sir! There’s nothing a man hates more, than having his LOWER LIFE FORMS, sit on his non-living possessions!” My family’s dogs are spoiled as shit so they always go on the couch but I always recite that line to them every time I see them lounging on a couch 😂
The highest form of comedy mankind will ever achieve is that of a cartoon man slamming a cartoon dog's ass onto a newspaper to the tune of Giuseppe Verdi's Anvil Chorus.
George Liquor's tremendous voice acting was supplied by Mike Pataki. He also played Karnax the Klingon on the _Trouble with Tribbles_ episode of the original Star Trek series - he instigated the bar fight scene by telling Scottie the Enterprise ought to be hauled away as garbage.
He was also played Dr Hoffman in Halloween 4. A subtly creepy performance. In the commentary for the episode "Eat My Cookies', John K says he would have used Michael Pataki for the main Girl Scout character instead of Rosie O'Donnell. Sadly, he's passed. R.I.P.
@@theliam3786 same but I think Dailymotion has been cracking down on ren and stimpy videos cuz I can't find episodes on there that I could watch before.
Fun fact: This episode was one of the reasons why the creator was fired, but also because of missed deadlines which was also another reason for him being fired
@@benjaminp8770 Yep. Like John K. himself said, if two shots ever showed the similar facial expressions, he would have the animators start over and do it all again. This caused a bunch of episodes to be way late and over budget at that.
There were missed deadlines since literally the first episode. John K wemt behind Nick after they banned this episode and released this as a "red box" video on his own. That's why he was fired
It would’ve made a great animated episode but I can understand why it was banned for many reasons. 1. It was too violent and vulgar for children 2. It was considered animal cruelty and 3. It almost jumped the shark on the show and Nickelodeon. Makes since why John K was kicked out of his own animated show. Great animator and storyteller but a mad man.
This episode was originally intended to air on Nickelodeon on August 22, 1992, as the second half of the second episode of Season 2, but was pulled before airing and replaced by the original theatrical pilot. It eventually aired on the soft launch of Spike TV on June 23, 2003.
6:43 Thaddeus: And what's the matter with you? Why don't you ask for some buffs R&S: may I please have some buffs Thaddeus: No. I don't think you deserve any buffs. You like it Lame. You like it Cooorny. You don't get any buffs. In fact, here take a down special nerf...... smoothbrain. Why don't you go play online while you're at it? Why don't you go 0-2 in locals? R&S: maybe I would go 0-2, but Sora killed the game Thaddeus: oh a smart mouth huh? A smart mouth? You know what we do to smart mouths around here...... we give them ANOTHER NERF *nerfs neutral special*
I think In 92 this was too violent and not funny. But Spumco was so ahead of its time .2021 and it fits with what we see today. Shame things were 25 years too early.
I think what actually made that man's best friend episode is that Ren is sick of George Liqour and their treatment. It can be traumatizing too much for Stimpy watching Ren beating up George Liqour. John Kricfalusi is hoping that this would've been another one of the masterpieces for the season. He ended up being fired from Nickelodeon later on.
Well guess what, it is, it's official news that they are making a reboot that appearently like the original show, with ren and stimpys voice actor, Billy West, reprising his roles, it's actually really far into development, so be ready for news sometime next year
I think they should bring it back mostly for us millennials that grew up with the show. It would be more funny for a mature audience other than show this to the new generation. They simply won’t get it or understand the humor that is R&S
@@williambrock3349it's going to be an adult oriented series on comedy central. But you have to remember that it's not going to be anything like adult party cartoon because john k isn't going to be the sole writer this time Also, a few of the original writers are coming back
the innuendo, directly referencing alcohol, and the violence don’t really make it kid friendly network material. imo i also think the message is super fucked up. kids are still developing and i feel like it’s best to not let them watch a show that teaches them “discipline = love” and that the emotional and physical abuse from george is normal just my opinion, but that being said, as an adult i really like this episode
Ren and Stimpy learn the true meaning of obedience when George Liquor takes them home with him and swears to make them "champions", which does not happen.
That's good shit. Everything is too safe and coddled for kids today. Ren & Stimpy was my favorite cartoon at 4 years old back in '94. Shows like this, Rocko's Modern Life and Invader Zim gave me the love of dark humor I have today.
Being a '90s kid born in the '80s and growing up in the '90s, I always hated this cartoon. The hideous animation, the insult to cats that is Stimpy, and how straight up disgusting it could be. Comparing this crap to Rocko and Invader Zim is an insult to the later shows.
George is paper-training Ren (training your pet to go potty on newspapers) but with the style of a drill instructor demanding 20 push-ups. It doesn't really make a lot of sense, but it's still fun goofy silliness. I hope you don't need the kissy noises explained, too.
I think the S&M innuendo was part of why Nickelodeon didn't let this one air even once. Also, it was too hard to edit out the "Liquor" (LICK-Her) part of George's name. Then the slo-mo gore with Ren's beating of George Liquor. Not like censorship is known for running on consistent logic, however.
Look up "Magic Nose Goblins: The Ren and Stimpy Story" on RU-vid. It states that John K got the George Liquor name from looking at a gas station that had a sign that said "George" up top then a "Liquor" sign at the bottom. It was supposed to say "George's Liquor" but the gas station owner probably didn't know possessive punctuation. It was never meant to be a sexual pun.
They Somehow got away with Having his last name being Liquor, but The Lawn cigars say otherwise. Despite the episode getting banned, George Liquor also appears in another episode.
This is probably one of the most cruelest and insane Ren and Stimpy episode known to man. Tobbaco, Harm, Abuse, Brutality. It’s too much for a paranormal kids show like this. This really ruined John K. Career to something worse.
No deadlines here in RU-vid. I can feel it, since I upload videos whenever I feel like it. Oh, for the previous comment, I also like the soundtrack. :)
