if you are starting to move from cartridge to safety razors these are ones you should look to get: leaf twig, hansen al13 and rockwell 6c

I found the ZOMCHI is a really good intro razor cheap and a good mild shave, especially if don't want to go all in right away. i used it with an astra blade and Prarasso sensitive soap.

I have a love hate relationship with the 78R, but pulled it out today. I plan to use it for a while and give it a second chance. Parker has a great product, I own a few. My go to is the Parker 98R, cousin to the 99R.

Informative comparison shave. There are several less expensive safety razors for those wanting to give DE shaving a try. But I still believe that spending $60 for a Rockwell 6C is best because it's basically 6 safety razors and gives the newbie options to find what's best for their skin and beard. I'm with you about Nivea. It is one of my favorites. But I recently discovered Dove Men +Care Ultra Hydra Cream for the face, hands, and body. It's almost fragrance-free and really moisturizes the skin. You should give it a try. I saw it at Walmart and it was so cheap I couldn't resist.

Most store bought razors are essentially around the most common aggressiveness level for most people, but would in my opinion recommend tje Henson's over them even though price points higher. Due to the mild and medium Henson's are practically nick proof, miss angle they don't cut. You can see definitely were angle needs to be because of tight tolerance angle is easy to see because of the definitive flat angles. The aggressive Henson can and will nick you though due to bigger blade gap starts to negate the tight tolerance measurement.

One of the main features about face lathering, yes, IS adding the quantities of water TO the brush, before bringing this to the lather on the face. One has choices in the ways to do this.

Love the look of that Parker. One trick is instead of going from the puck to your face, actually create a lather in your hand 👍🏻

True. I used the pre-shave oil instead of the soap on my hands. Which is basically the same as appreciate using bloom water.

@@OhioShaves you've mentioned before not to mix the pre shave oil brands and soap as they may not work well together. so I bought the Proraso pre shave cream, should get here on wed. I'll update you as how that went vs bloom asap. I'll do half and half to get a instant comparison.

@@OhioShaves definitely a lot smoother that using bloom water. very little cream was needed about the size of a m&m (1/2 face) and it did not gum up my AL13, it came clean swishing in the bowl.

The manscaped was my first de and i hated it, destroyed my face. I'd probably like it now, but it seemed too aggressive for a beginner. I was using feathers as well, which i hate.. even though they mow hair down lol. The 34c was WAY smoother for me, but i shave twice a week so i use an r41 now :p.

If you look at the first picture that shows each razor side by side you can clearly see the manscaped blade sticks out twice as much as the parker. Just be careful when you're shaving down under.

The Personna you're using in the video are made in Israel. The made in Germany ones have a different label with gold around the word platinum. The Israeli plant is shut down they are now made in Germany. The German plant also makes a Wilkinson Sword blade (Teflon coated).

Styptic stick! Not using alum block and not need tissue paper on the face. Reason is treat the cuts and any locatable stings using the Styptic and treat the whole shaved face with post-shave balm. Since I have never tried alum block, I really am less sure what I am missing.

Your missing out. The alum is one of the best things for me. Really helps tighten your face and close your pores. Then apply a balm. Perfect

It was. I forgot to turn off my air-conditioning in the house before I pressed record on my camera. The audio was all messed up with the fan noise in the background. I’ll correct that next time.
