Again I will say, this group knocked this song out of the park. Everyone in it performed perfectly. It seems that it had every instrument made woven into the song. You don't get tired listening to it.
She sure has a beautiful voice, and this is a GREAT bluegrass version of Hank's song. If you have more of Sharon singing the old country songs, please post. Thank you.
Marie, she has worked on the Grand Ole Opry for several years with her dad and sister as "The Whites". I have always loved her singing. I just knew you would like this one. Take care my friend and have a wonderful weekend. Mike
Just a Great Performance - Pitch Perfect with great musical back-up. Hank is looking down from above and smiling and saying, “Now this is how it should be done” !!
I love this version of the song. Sharon and Ricky and Sharon's Dad and Sister are all great performers. They put so much soul in their music. Wonderful stuff!
@@jorgen-55 If I had said it WAS the best song on U-Tube, many, many people would have responded with their opinion of their best song. Now I can say, it is the best song. I play this song more than any other, and I have over 650 songs on my liked list.
Sharon sings from the heart. She did a great job on this great Hank Wliams song. And the musicians On this Shaon's husband, Jerry Douglsd and others some of the best in Nashville. This is my kind Of music. Give us more of this and less of the new Country Southern Rock.
I never heard Sharon White before: she has a marvelous voice. I put this to my faves. Mike Thank you so much for sharing, you KNOW what I like :-)Have a great day, Marie
This is one of my favorite songs, one that I have song many time in my seventy one year of life, Hank William was one of the greatest songster and poets. He had so many beautiful lyrics.
Though this song was written and made famous by Hank Williams and has been covered by many other men, I think its more appropriately performed by a woman. So I really love this video. The song on its surface is about a traditional heartbreak, but I believe its more than that - its Williams' plea to a God he feels has abandoned him. He couldn't say it plainly, so he dressed it up in words his audience could accept. I beleive he'd be very pleased to hear White singing it.
i always love any of 'the whites' vox, they are synonymous with accuracy and perfection! having Michael Doucet and Gerry Douglass and Ricky Scaggs and Danny Thompson on bass is just icin on the cayke!
That's Danny Thompson - I've now updated details. He is a very famous player and featured on the first 2 series of these sessions. His "CV" is as long as your arm and he had a close musical and personal friendship with John Martyn - who also featured on Transatlantic Sessions.
This may be the best version of this song I have ever heard and all the musicians are probably the best in the world. Every word and note played for our and there enjoyment. Wonderful thank you.
Fred Rose gave Hank 15 minutes to write a song at his interview. This is it. Ray Price and Faron Young recorded this a few years ago and its super with a piano as the lead instrument.
You can see them enjoy in what they are doing and I thank them for it, because now I can always come back and enjoy more of it. Thxs for sharing. 14.2.2017.
Sharon does a simply incredible job on this, and I love Ricky on that mandolin and a real treat to hear Jerry on the dobro. I agree, Sharon White has never received the acclaim and recognition she truly deserves; she has an awesome voice. FIVE STARS
Sharon White gives a great performance. I notice that she is accompanied by renown fiddler Michael Doucet from Louisiana, plus the excellent Jerry Douglas on steel guitar. On top of that, her husband Ricky is a prize-winner on mandolin.
