@@tmdastense3602 It was worth it though. The next time I went on Atlantis (I was the first ever rider at San Diego for the very new blue one). I got to witness my friend lose her gum on that ride after she made fun of me 🤣
For those comparing Manta San Diego vs Manta Orlando, of course Orlando is much better, but for political reasons. Sea World San Diego is subjected to very strict height restrictions by the California Coastal Commission. The Coastal Commission was created to protect and conserve California's coastline. Therefore, for the sake of this argument, SeaWorld is forbidden to build tall looping rollercoasters that exceed a certain height within distance from the coastline. The only remaining structure approved to exceed the imposed height restriction is the SeaWorld SkyTower. So, yes, Manta of SeaWorld Orlando will win the argument by a landslide of being a much better thrill ride because SeaWorld Orlando is not subjected to strict height restrictions.
Yeah so true in Orlando, it goes upside down and you feel like a manta because the lean you on your belly. This one is almost like a kid ride, just this one is A LOT faster than a kiddy ride. In Orlando it's A LOT more thrilling than this there is a turn and you get wet. If you don't know what I mean go watch coaster forces video and its super cool I actually live by Orlando So we go to Disney and sea world a lot. I would recommend riding the kraken because that was my first upside down Rollercoaster and I got over my fear of them. It goes insanely high up and it's amazing. One problem is that the tracks are very rusty and squeaky but you don't hear the squeaks unless nobody is screaming (which they will) hopefully you take my advise and go to sea world Orlando for more crazy action and you can go to universals island of adventures and if you really love roller coasters that's the place for you.
Everyone is saying orlandos is better which is obvious. Let's break then down. San Diego: A family launch coaster Orlando: A thrilling flying coaster The only thing similar between the two is the name. You can't compare coasters just because they have the same. They are completely different and are for different audiences. An actual good comparison would be Orlando manta to magic mountain Tatsu. Stop comparing two rides that are completely different.
Not really...Tatsu is probably 2nd or 3rd best flying coaster in the world. A better comparison would be Manta (SWO) and Superman Ultimate Flight (SFOG/SFGAd)
in my opinion, manta is not a family coaster. its one of those, lets say, transition coasters to get you ready for the other rides, like electric eel. I went on it two days ago and it was a thrill. but you are right, it cannot compare to the manta at orlando.
Rode it 6x over the weekend. It's very unique. Front seat at night is a kick in the butt, since the ride is almost completely unlit. Back seat is awesome because you get launched and pulled through every turn. The faux aquarium launch tube is awesome. You get pulled forward and back, and 3d effects make it look like the aquarium has depth. The scenery has grown in since this video was shot, and you get treated to beautiful trees, shrubs, and flamingos on the ride.
I rode the one in San Diego and I was crying when after you see that giant ray on the ceiling. I don't like roller coasters and probably never will, but my dad made me ride it xD
Who cares about which Manta ride at SeaWorld is better. People go to SeaWorld San Diego/San Antonio/Orlando to see marine animals, learn new things, and have a good time, not to compare over which park has a better ride
lps glitter glam This might sound stupid, but does it feel like your falling off? LOL. I have a phobia of just a seatbelt looking guarded seats instead of roller coasters that have the thing you pull over your head ( I mean the straps by your shoulders.)
Emma not trying to make your phobia worse but wen I went in April this year I got on with my friend we put our belts down and only ours went flying up I literally yelled oh shit I yelled at the guys do get there asses to our seats and they said they like to kid with us but I think the belts failed he also said hey this is a family park to my oh shit but in a humerous way
Daniel Fierros Oh my god... I dont really fear that, that much. I know it happenss but I tell my parents if i dont come back , ill always love you. So they'll on with me lol.
Haha, same here! Last year I went on it I started crying.. And I was 11 , we went there early so we went on 2 times in a row, the second time my mom said if i went on it i could get a souviner, I NEVER GOT ONE and before it started when it was getting ready i made this face it was like a retarded whiny face and i was crying.. Never again.. Never again..
Guys we need to stop fighting about Florida vs California and realize we have oranges, good weather, Disney, Universal, and SeaWorld in common and realize the true enemy are Cedar Fair and Six Flags fans
I agree, but doesn't it always rain in Florida? When I went to Disney and Universal in Florida I had an awesome time, but it always rained, then again I went when Hurricane Harvey was going down in Texas and they said that was what was effecting the weather sooo XD
ThatHauntFreak2 The only Seaworld I've been to is the one in San Antonio, the one with Steel Eel and Great White, both of which are great rides. And yes, saw Blackfish on Netflix one night cause I was bored; during the last ten minutes I was so bored with it I just wanted to shut it off, but I wanted to finish it so I could say I've seen it when asked about it. That's a problem; if it was so uplifting, like everyone was saying, I shouldn't have been bored with it, just a stupid biased documentary with logical points that seemed to contribute to nothing whatsoever. I mean so what ONE orca killed three people (while the fourth was caused by his OFFSPRING), that's not enough evidence for me, sorry. SO yeah, it was a lie, for sure.
SeaWorld Orlando's Manta is a B&M flyer, which is meant to be extreme. SeaWorld San Diego's Manta is literally a family coaster, so how is it even a fair fight? You're literally comparing a family coaster to a thrill coaster. They both do their job well, but Orlando's is going to be better because it was meant to be thrilling.
@@bandmfanboy Mack Rides Multi-Launch, it isn’t exactly a family coaster, because Mack Rides multi-launch coasters aren’t family coasters, like Copperhead Strike or Blue Fire the older models are more intense, but for one at Seaworld San Diego, it is obviously calm, Seaworld is made for families, of course it’s a family coaster, but it’s still a pretty intense ride, especially in the back for the turn around into the water, and all of the ejector and flo-jector hills.
@The Airtime Entusiast I know how Manta at SWSD rides; I’ve been on myself. The point is, SWSD’s Manta is made for a larger audience, thus, it is less intense.
when I was 9, i really wanted to go on this ride, but I couldn’t because I was really scared because I went in Orlando and the Orlando Manta ride was way much scarier than this. I’m so glad that I took my 9 year old self and became much more courageous I was still courageous when I was 9, but when I was too scared to ride the Manta Ray, I felt embarrassed and emotional. but now since I’m 11 I would really love to go on that ride! {I also really wanted to go on it when I was 10} and after my brother went on that ride he gave me some descriptive words describing the ride. After, I really wanted to go on that ride but the line was still long. I go to Florida every 2 years and this ride seems amazing! ♥️ to me, I think I was very foolish not to go on this ride but it’s okay. I hope I will go on this in the future!
When I went here last week the riders before me were hilarious! When the ride worker said "make some noise!" A lot of the riders were cheering but I heard some people making barf noises because they knew they might actually barf and when they went into the tunnel I heard a it scream "MOMMMYY" xD
I'd be excited to go on Orlando's Manta at some point. It looks like Tatsu from Magic Mountain. While I love my super intense coasters like X-2, there is definitely something to be said for SD's Manta. First of all, the video and music at the beginning really add to the immersion of the coaster. This RU-vid vid really didn't capture that well. Second of all I think that shoot off coasters are the best. That initial stomach drop really carries you thru the rest of the ride. Now that all of the baby plants have grown bigger at Seaworld SD, there's truly a gorgeous view. I think they did well despite the building codes. This is a great coaster for those who want to bridge the gap between little coasters and more intense ones.
Despite SeaWorlds 30ft height restrictions, Manta was a big success for the park as it was a family coaster which attracted the most people to SeaWorld San Diego that year 4.4 million. Manta is still very popular to this day.
+The Exterminators it is all the rides at seaworld are kiddie rides even the mako if you want your balls to drop for real dont go on the roller coasters at sea world go to kinda ka at six flags search it up
+kaneki lover well this is kinda like thunder mountain at Disneyland but shorter and if they pretty much the same that would mean that thunder mountain is also a kiddie ride and that ride is really fun!
+SportsGaming17 that's not why. It's because San Diego has to adhere to ridiculous height restrictions when building their rides, so Manta couldn't be much more than this without breaking guidelines set.
this manta is NOTHING compared to the one in orlando this ride is for babies the one in orlando id the real thing!!! huh, so is atlantis!! :) NO OFFENSE SEAWORLD i still like your rides but the ones in orlando are better :)
Looks fun for if you just wanna ride a coaster and catch a lot of air. Those fast turns are fun too. But no loops. Sometimes I'm in the mood for coasters like this though. And I LOVE coasters that propel you forward really fast at the start like this one! That's usually my fav part :)
+BGO 863 IKR and I don't know why the people are afraid of the Orlando one! It's so short and sweet. Heck if you go to sea world on a weekend and go the manta line there's like only 10 people in line.

Anyone who has rode this Manta, should take a trip to SW Orlando some time! Manta there is a flying coaster, and it's really cool! Yet both are equally as good, knowing that California has a rollercoaster height law. ☺️
Well, this was the first manta. I'm pretty sure. Everything from Orlando is the newer versions of the California parks. Here in California, we have the originals. Original Disney, SeaWorld, +more
+GameSlimia I'm going to move to Cali. Is there any fun roller coasters there like that's not slow. That's like Orlando manta? Because this ride is making me scared
It's because they have rules. Florida does all kinds of crazy stuff. California: nice, relaxed but sometimes fast and fun.... Florida: Crazy, high speed...
I remember when I went to Sea World for my 12th birthday, I went on this ride and, when the thing opened, I literally felt like Spongebob when he was on the bus to Rock Bottom.
