Manta ray actually asks diver for help to remove fishing hook stuck under its eye

This incredible video is courtesy of Seadog TV & Film Productions and Tourism Western Australia.
It shows a large manta ray with a fishing hook stuck under her eye being rescued by passing divers after she appeared to recognise one of them.
The extraordinary footage, filmed off Australia's Ningaloo Bay, shows the creature approaching an underwater photographer and tourist guide Jake Wilton, 30, in an apparent bid for help.

Do you know this video is showing quite broken??? images and audio are coming out badly...cut up. Something is wrong, but the video is very interesting, for sure.

Deep Blue... Advanced diver from Florida, love your channel. I've seen video & heard stories of dolphins coming up to scuba divers for help sometimes. Wish I could do more than pick up garbage & plastics.

Hi, and welcome. Glad you like it. Sea life is genuinely astonishing. I'm even being told by a lot of experts that even sharks have personalities and can essentially wake up in a bad or good mood, kind of like we can. Picking up plastic is vital! We only post vids ;-)

Manta's have the largest non-mammalian brain in the Seas. So it's been documented that Sharks also ask for hook removal.

I try to see the sea every 5 years. When I'm away. But I lived by the sea twice in my life. Might retired there someday. Time to make a road trip bud.
