Great comparison! I was about to buy the Stikeman product until you compared the two side-by-side. You saved me from making a costly mistake. I feel you were fair in the comparison of the two products and you made my decision easier. I'm buying the Mantis System. Thanks again.
Hi there, Unfortunately, I bought Strikeman first. However, That Mantis system looks like really good stuff in comparison, would that system happen to registered the scratches that the laser light makes from an aggressive or even, a canted trigger pull?
Strikeman is fine if you use your actual carry and not be like this guy and use a plastic practice pistol. Lol why anyone would chose to use a plastic pistol over your actual carry gun is beyond me.
We did a review of the same, and MANTIS has such a great support system and team and were happy to jump on a call and do a podcast with us and you are right always adding new updates and content.
Thanks for this review. Was hard to find a practical review on Mantis. Most were just setup instructional videos and nothing about overall use and “accuracy”. Thanks again.
I have the G-Sight ELMS Plus Cartridge System and I love it. The best part is that it has replaceable inexpensive rubber end caps that can be replaced from constant dry fire practice.
I'm glad to have your channel pop-up in my notifications again! Totally down to earth regular guy. Hopefully, I can keep up with your channel again! Best to ya',,,,!
Great information. I stumbled onto Strikeman on social media, and of course, then I started getting ads for Mantis. This is exactly what I was looking for in comparison. Clearly the Mantis is worth the extra $$. Thanks.
Wow!....doing research before buying a system and so glad I hit your channel brother....your review nailed all the comparison points perfectly....once you began the firing demo it was an instant no brainer....again, I can't thank you enough...cost me more but on the "right" purchase.....your ladys gonna be pissed you keep putting holes in that nice fireplace....👍💥🇺🇲💥....subbed...
Finally a great comparison. Thank you. Have been researching these two for about a month. Was about to choose a Strikeman. Now I am sold on the Mantis.
Thanks for the comparison! Appreciate your unbiased side-by-side show and tell. While I don't always believe you have to pay more to get a better product, your video convinced me and my wife to buy the Mantis. TY!!
Thank you. This cleared a lot up for me. I appreciate you and your honest, unbiased report. The test shooting speaks for itself. I feel that I will make a more appropriate choice with my purchase. I am feeling fortunate that I found your video. P.S. I also have a lot of .45 ACP… because shooting twice is just silly. Cheers, and thank you.
My boyfriend’s getting me one for Christmas this year. I’m so excited I just got my gun license and I’m new at this and I’m learning my gun when I do go to target and also for safety and my Eamon and I get to know my gun more.
I just received my strikeman and had to look to RU-vid to see how their $hit works. I'm sending back the Strikeman for a refund. Nothing but hate and discontent right out of the box. SMFH..😠
Dang it! I wish I had seen this video before buying a Strikeman. In just 2 hours of using it (last night and this morning), Strikeman had numerous app issues, some of which you covered in this video. I also had issues with the laser failing to fire from inside my Glock 9mm Gen 5. Fortunately, I bought the Strikeman on Amazon...it will be being returned, and I'm going to try Mantis. Thanks!
Interesting, thanks. Wish I had seen this before purchasing the Strikeman yesterday, but they have a 15 day return policy so I can send it back if it doesn't work for me.
This video was so helpful!! Thank you very much I was going to purchase strikeman because it was the only one I saw but after seeing this definitely going with mantis
I am kind of confused Sir. I own a S&W 1911 45cal Performance Center. Where the small device goes, I have no rails at the front bottom. I am assuming the device is for live fire. The instructions are not too clear. I was going to search on RU-vid, but since you seem to know about this gadget I decided to ask you. Thanks in advance, just found your channel surfing.
Yes. It's like you said in the video, it all comes down to the user as to which system is better. Right now, I have the Strikeman system, and it picks up every shot that I take. I guess they must have updated the Strikeman app now, since this video was from a year ago... I did look at all the drills available for the Mantis Laser Academy, but they seemed kind of unnecessary for me. So, I think I'll just stay with the Strikeman... My big question is: can the laser cartridge from the Mantis system work with the Strikeman system? The laser cartridge from Mantis is cheaper than the Strikeman's, so I just want to save money. 😅 (Even when the Strikeman laser cartridges go on sale, they're still a little more expensive than the Mantis's.) Oh, and on a side note, Mantis now has a "portable" version of the Laser Academy; so it's the same price as the regular Strikeman system.
Any laser cartridge will work with either system. I even use a SIRT pistol with Mantis. As long as you train, it doesn't matter what you use. I still think mantis has the best software.
Thank you for your review! Short and to the point, answered the basic question people wanna ask: how do these two commonly available market products compare? Thank you for your work, I'll check out more of your videos
Glad you liked the review. The SIRT is a great tool but honestly, I only got it because I got a steep NRA instructor discount. I agree you are better off using your EDC for practice. Blackbeard is really a game changer since it doesn't alter your trigger, it's the same trigger pull and reset. Mantis is by far the best training system and the app is awesome.
I got the Strikeman as a Christmas gift. I really like it. I have yet to have the issues you did with it not registering my shots. And mine did come with a plastic ejector rod. I have no complaints so far. That being said, for like $50 more, you get WAY more stuff with the Mantis system. If I was to buy one, I’d go for the Manits. But I can’t complain, my Strikeman was a gift to me and it works.
Great review. I really wish you could have gone into some app settings namely the Ballistic Offset. The video from Mantis mentioned it but does Strikeman have it. I downloaded their app but don't see anything like that. It's extremely important to be able to have the laser hit the center of the target w/o needing to adjust your sights or hold off the center.
Thanks man, the Mantis app is far superior to Strikeman. The Strikeman app really isn't ready for prime time. I am a software developer so I can make that assessment.
Great video…been looking at laser systems because my Mantis X2 system has difficulty registering the shots in par timer mode…maybe because I am a little old and shaky…looks like the Mantis Academy will do the job…thank you…
That is a SIRT Training Pistol. You don't need to rack the slide. I did a review on that, here is the link ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IuOCx3jiVDs.html
Was looking at both, and have decided Mantis, hands down. Only question is, what is the max distance the system will register from the barrel to the target. Thanks for your time..
Strikeman has the worst customer service. Placed my order on 1/29/2024 today is 2/13/2024 and still haven’t received it. They don’t answer emails there is no phone number to speak with a representative. Can’t order replacement targets. Returning the Strikeman as soon as soon as I receive it. Mantis great customer service. Placed my order on 2/12/2024 and shipped out the next day.
I enjoyed your video comparisons. But, I do have a question can you use a laser carriage from the Strikeman system on the Mantis system? The reason why I ask this is that the Strikeman Systems seems to have more laser cartiages available.
Strikeman is teaching you patience and to do better research. Most products on Facebook are garbage and the more they advertise, the more certain it is, that it is not something you want.
I liked the comparison but in doing research and rewatching your video. How did you get trigger to reset without racking the slide? Looks like mantis has the Blackbeard for ar15 style rifles but nothing for auto trigger reset during pistol dry fire.
@@progun45 are either of those your home protection or carry pistols or are they strictly training tools? I ask bc I'm looking for something to go with Mantis to reset the trigger as it annoying to have to rack slide each pull
@@troya1495 Training tools. No way around the racking of a slide unless you have a DA/SA pistol. It's not a Mantis issue it's a semi-auto issue. My EDC is a Glock 20 10MM I'm just too lazy to rack the slide so I use the Taurus or SIRT pistol with Mantis.
@@progun45 I found a video where I guy got a dryfiremag that reset his trigger and worked with the mantis system. They don't promote it but can confirm it's worked for people. Have you tried any of those? I'm looking to get this setup for my brothers 40th
@@troya1495 I have dryfiremag. It does not work with Mantis Laser Academy because to toes not use the trigger system of the gun. It uses a clicker on the mag that makes a click when you pull the trigger but it does not reset the striker or hammer.
What is the pistol you're using with the red slide? Am I correct to understand that there's no need to rack the slide each time you fire with the mantis?
That is a SIRT Pistol. Sight Indicator Resettable Trigger. I got it from NextLEvelTraining.com I have a video on that Pistol you may want to check it out.
I'm considering buying this. it seems great although it would be nice if there was some way you could have recoil but you can't have it all I guess. Do you know what the difference between the laser academy and the mantis x shooting performance system?
Mantis Laser Academy is the way to go. The app is state of the art and it uses targets. Mantis X is only a simulation and it does not show you where you hit your target and does not use targets for training, you shoot at anything and it tries to calculate what you hit. . Laser Academy also keeps history so you can see your improvement and is the best system on the market.
Would you happen to know if the strikeman will work with any paper target or is their target some special material for the phone to pick up the flash? The reason that I'm wondering is because their website also sells the laser separately... If it will work with any target, I can use my own tripod and target with the app and save 50 bucks... Just thought I'd ask someone who has used one. THanks
You did not do a fair comparison, I have both as well. In the Strikeman session you did not zoom into the target you left it all the way zoomed out. You should only see the target not you fireplace too. Also the Mantis only allows 75 feet of training compared to the HD Strikeman that will do 100 yards or 4 times the distance the Mantis will do. Also my Mantis laser broke after about 6 months of use and my Strikeman is on the 8 set of batteries and still going strong (about 5,000-7,000 shots a set) the Mantis retails at $50 more for 4X's less distance and its a peice of junk that broke quickly for $149. Zoom in on the target and try it again, your not being truthful, at least not by my experience
Thank you for this comparison. I just bought my 3 adult kids the Strikeman for Christmas, and when I started reading all these comments, I started having regrets and I haven't even given it to them. I feel better now!
Уже есть бесплатные аналоги (открытое ПО). Правда нужен компьютер, камера и проектор. Зато можно стрелять по движущимся целям. В статичные цели можно и без проектора стрелять, вроде.
Lmao yeahhhhh.. bought the "strike man" for 100 bones.. gotta say.. watching you attempt to use the app was hilarious closure, to know its not just me having trouble with it... that being said, i feel like ive been ripped off by a snake oil salesman, and wish i put that into the Mantis system.
You can bit it will take forever. A boresight is the way to go since it is always on. You need to align an sights with the laser beam. Racking the slide is not efficient for that.
You didn't compare apples to apples. You compared strikeman base level to mantis top level that wasn't a fair comparison. You did make valid points, however if you purchase strikmans top level for $199.00 you get several targets just like with mantis and you get their app for free. That said if you want to upgrade to strikemans pro app I believe there is a monthly charge. I do think the mantis for $149.00 is the winner, but strikemans is a lot better than what you demonstrated, be fair in your reviews.
@@mikewoodworth3569 The 199.00 Strikeman is still poor compared to the Mantis 149.00 system. Hey if Strikeman works for you, good for you. The Mantis Pro app is free and Strikeman makes you pay for the Pro App which brings up the cost of Strikeman even more making it even less of a value. That is why there are alternatives, everyone has different opinions.
