@@chazmarepps4 Actually you can do it, but you need exceptional expertise. We have plans for supporting the gaming genres like FPS, TPS and other similar genres with full 3D. For now, camera can be moved in full 360 degrees by all three dimensions, but our default character can only move by X and Y axis. That's why you have to do your own main character for the full 3D support, and it's a bit hard considering the options and tools in our current MANU 1.1 version.

Thanks for sharing! I love that game engines are going the no-code/limited-code route. I do think it's important to be able to code if you want more control and I don't think anyone really disagrees with that, but I also don't like the tendency for people to discredit others who simply choose not to code. At the end of the day, the goal is to make an entertaining experience and sometimes it's easier to do that if you enjoy the creation process yourself. :) If you hate coding... you don't have to!

Not everyone CAN code. I can't code - can't get my head to work that way but I have ideas for games so I either give up ever trying or I thank people for creating drag and drop or no-code game engines. I don't care that a coder discredits me - I'm an artist and that's my focus. At the end of the day a game is playable or not / fun or not whether it's a coded game or a drag and drop game. That's all that matters.

Coders usually make terrible games. They can't even get good UI done right. I can do game design and UI and UX but I can't put it into code. It's not that's hard to code or figure it out its just gets me increasingly bored and annoyed. Not my thing. So people should do what they;re good at and what they enjoy.

I can't imagine a sandbox RPG, immersive sim or roguelike working well with that engine. But it looks like a great tool for "walking sims" or linear side-scrollers with small physics puzzles and scripted setpieces like Little Nightmares.

Bare minimum, this might be a good tool for prototyping out games. I love to code, but I don't really have time to spend on my little projects. I might actually look into this one.

@@MANUVideoGameMaker , I will definitely try it out and see what I can do with it, once I get a chance. I started playing around with game engines just as the pandemic hit and I realized each engine is good at different things. I look forward to exploring the possibilities with the MANU engine.

What about the licensing issue/status? Where does MANU stand?

I think it's too early to be used in real project. Also, blueprints( aka no-coding approach of UE) are easier than all these long chainings. But I see potential for this approach, it just needs improvements, especially UX. Good luck to authors.

I really like manu and I have already tried the previous version. I got the alpha now and I will play with it a bit. It is really easy to control and edit stuff.

Seems like the idea of no code engines is that you don't have to learn a language or API. Adding logic to your game and visual coding are basically the same thing, so you couldn't really make a game without any coding, but doing it without knowing any syntax is possible.

I’ve entered their website and saw there that one can plug in trigonometric mathematical equations for doing some effects... No code? Eh... It will be never possible to make an engine no code unless it is very limited in what it allows its users to do... Game Development will always be part of Software Development which will always involve some code and some math to some degree even if you are doing that in Blueprints or similar... no matter how hard they will try to distance Game Development from Software Development, they will never be able to take Game Development outside of Software Development because games are just softwares....

Hello GFS, I am making a 2d top down shooter on Gdevelop and I plan to make it a multiplayer. Do you think Gdevelop is a good codeless-engine for this or is there a better option? I have a friend (software engineer) that will do the multiplayer part as Gdevelop doesn't support multiplayer.

Extract the zip and run the manu.exe. If you mean the demo project, import it, it's not the root directory, but the one inside it.

@@vodkaru5907 the engine is targeting people that are not tech savvy the only game engine that i have ever used was unreal engine the only pc program that i use regularly is blender again this is on the front page of their site "MANU is here To remove any obstacle between talent and audience. No coding. No studying. Start creating now" so with marketing like that who do you think there trying to attract ?

What do you mean? Those little logic blocks that you use to bind events? That's about as abstracted away as you can get without it being just a level editor for a pre-existing game. How much of your game do you actually want to make?

Actually there's no coding for real. Yeah, there are sure some scripts, animations and commands, but you don't have to actually write any kind of code. So, "no code" stands true for our case. MANU really allows to create games easily without any coding skills. Try it out yourself, if you don't believe this. And we would be more than happy to help your with any questions!
