Doing some Bermuda lawn mowing ahead of the rain. In this video I talk about timing your mowing before the rain, how low to cut your lawn, and the benefits of using a reel mower.
Humble people make 11 minute videos about their lawn and care of the lawn? Im not saying hes conceited but you dont make a youtube video of your lawn unless you think its something.
I'm buying this because the cut can go to 2 inches. It saves on water and shields the roots from the sun. I'll plug the lawn and use a granular type of feed. Done this on a rental and it was nice to have a healthy lawn to walk barefooot on.
nice that you take the time to explain a lot! --- my neighbor uses this mover & he has the nicest grass in our neighborhood - like golf course grass -looking --- i am doing the research - i am sold on this -plus good exercise ! (1990s i kept my lawn super green -same type -in florida- i used miracle grow on it through the handheld sprayer & weed n fed turf builder fertilizer - gave my grass a deep dark green look) i have the same type grass in texas now ... great job -thank you ✌🏼 -Texas-
Next video you give us maybe you can show us how you sharpen your reel mower I have an earthwise 7 blade reel mower I’m pretty happy with it awesome lawn by the way you have yourself a new subscriber
Nice video! I have a Cub Cadet 1554 riding mower that has given me lots of problems since 2006 and expensive repairs and seriously considering a reel mower for the season this year, especially with the steady increase in gas prices etc. 👍🏻
It does look good! I’m laughing thinking about a neighbor looking out and seeing you on the ground though 😂😂 I feel ya 100% , but to people that don’t get it it has to be hilarious
Looks great. I love the manual reel mowing. I have a Fiskars, Great States and a Earthwise 7 blade and they all work well. Just got a Liberty 43 to up my game. Great job on the video bro. You got a sub from Striperman :)
I'm a bit of a late comer here, but just wanted to say thank you for cutting your lawn laterally (side to side) rather than from house to street. I take a bit of flack around here for also cutting laterally. My reason is I have a bit of a hill and I just don't want to push my mower up a hill! Makes sense right? Also a reel mower does cut nicely. It's like using scissors to cut rather than a whacking it it with a machete like with a rotery power mower. Btw, from what part of the country are you? I'm in Central TX.
It’s pretty easy I have the same exact mower on the back of the mower there is a roller you just have to loosen the wing nut on each side slide the bolt out and lower it
Will be trying my hand at reel mowing my bermuda lawn soon, planning on purchasing a earthwise 16" manual, and seeing what kind of cut I get with it without spending $1000's on a powered reel. What mowing height are you cutting your bermuda? I'd like to get mine down to about 1/2inch. How are you keeping the lawn so green?
I generally don't have a lot of clippings when I'm mowing 2-3 times a week so I just leave it on the lawn. When there is a lot of clippings I usually use a rake to get it off the lawn.
wow your grass looks delicious and luscious! How did you clean up after mowing and trimming off the edges of your lawn? did you sweep with regular broom or did you have a lawn blower thingy? Would love how to efficiently clean up, since i also notice some rocks and woodchips tend to randomly scatter and end up around my lawn too.
Lawn looks great. What HOC is it at? I just picked up this mower today and going to give it a try at 3/4" with a 1" final until I can convince the wife for a powered version lol.
I just bought the 20” inch Scott’s reel mower. Did you have to adjust the bed knife out of the box? I did the paper test and adjusted slightly since one side was not making a clean cut. After taking care of that the mower is still leaving about a 1” windrow of uncut grass. Any ideas?
I generally don't have a lot of clippings when I'm mowing 2-3 times a week. My front yard is small so when there is a lot of clippings I usually use a rake to get it off the lawn.
Do you not mow horizontally then pass through again vertically? I thought you're supposed to do that with old fashioned push mowers. I have the same mower btw haha
Fertilizer, rain and some good luck! Lol Seriously, for beginners I highly recommend a product call Milorganite. It sells out quick at Lowe's and Home Depot but it will help a lot with greening up your lawn.
My friend ... your lawn's FAKE. BTW, when a lawn looks so good it looks "fake", that's a compliment. ;) That is one of the best lawns I've seen on the net! Question ... I have about the same size front lawn (mine is about 1000sq') ... how long do you think the blades on this mower would stay sharp of I mowed three times a week?
Haha. It really depends on usage. You should be able to get by with sharpening once a season if you're strictly cutting grass and not running over sticks, stones, etc. Thanks for the compliment!
