practicing cgdive's rigify fundamentals free course. but with a zelda (free) model. So this zelda model already rigged from the beginning. but i remove the rig so that i could re rig it manually, without the base metarig template.
got through a lot of hurdles. first the zelda model has a lot of joined meshes, it makes the automatic weight fails. so i use only the essential ones, by separating it on edit mode, then re joined it. then the second problem is that the automatic weight fails to detect her eyes. i then figured out to paint it manually. third problem is that after applying ik on the leg, it folded sideways. then i realized there's a problem on the roll of the bone from the leg all the way down. so i resetted it all to 0, and it works fine now.
