Hell yeah im glad someone finally did this with the Q. I always had a feeling that this car could benefit from all the Z/G drifting suspension available.
I can't see the tach to well but i think its the VR30, the 3.0t engine. Redline looks to be at 7. Someone needs to put a VR 3.8 in a Q. Or make a manual swapped M56.
Ok that's it. Going to find a salvage 400z (eventually) and putting the manual in my Q50 even though I know it's going to be an absolute nightmare of a process
You don’t even have to wait for the new Z to come out. A 370z/G37 manual transmission bolts up to the VR30. There’s already a few cars running the setup with a conversion flywheel from concept z performance
@@Davidfarva Thanks for the reply. Have you ran into any issues by shaving off the clock spring and using the G/Z short hub? I had a feeling it would require some custom work to make the NRG work. It sucks NRG does not make one specifically for the Q.
@@NissanSkylineVR30 if I recall correctly it was either a blank connector that had to be shaved off, or it was a connector for an option on a higher trim level car than mine. Either way, if you’re installing a quick release you’re going to lose all of your steering wheel controls anyway so it’s not a big deal.
I was thinking about geting and automatic 370z diff cause it bolts up w the 3 bolt driveshaft of the Q & comes vlsd but im not sure if the axle stubs will work or if i can change. Also my final gear drive will change and i dont think my cruise controls w work which is wtv but id like to keep.
I wanted a q50 when It came out but didn't come in a stick but I'm leaning towards buying one and many swap as well. What did you have to do as far as computer and all the sensors that now aren't used from the auto transmission?
Did you have to change the drive shaft, and what management are you using? ( Stupid question as I know its a dedicated drift car but do you lose the reverse cameras when you swap the tranny?)
It’s the inner steel belts starting to show through from the tires being worn all the way down. It’s not necessarily done on purpose but it does look cool haha
why do people a[apologize for the vq sound i know its subjective but sounds 10000000000x better than a straight piped 4 cyl honda and actually sounds like a mad import
Your skids are sick as hell, but tell me how did you get apple car play on, do you have a late 3.7 or early 3.7 with the really slow original head unit, did you swap?
It has a whole 2015 infotainment system, but I have installed apple carplay into a couple of 2014s with the older style stuff. It’s a little more involved and time consuming though. I honestly can’t remember the brand that made the module for it. It’s easier to swap to the ‘15 stuff and install the carplay kits that everyone sells
Did you have to code anything or is it straight plug and play for the whole infotainment system? Looking into doing the swap for my 2014 3.7 but I don’t want to deal with all the extra stuff. Also, how much did you spend for the entire thing?
