manually open a 2010-2017 fiat 500 trunk/hatchback 

i spent over 1 hour trying to release my wife 2012 fiat 500 truck latch and discovered it should only take 5 min by accident. all you need is a flat head screwdriver. and all you need to remove to panel cover in the trunk is you hands or a pair of pliers if you choose. when trying to remove the panel by hand just give it a tug from the top by the rear wind shield and then put your pointer and middle finger on opposite sides of each individual clip and give it a good tug and the clip will come out and they go right back in just as easy
