Solvay claims to have improved their Solvay Process with a pilot plant in Dombasle France that produces 50% less carbon dioxide, reduces water, brine and limestone consumption, and completely eliminates limestone residues according to a September 2022 article from Solvay. I don't know if the pilot program in France was viable or not. It would be nice to know if the pilot program has advanced to the implementation phase or not.
