The thing that annoys me the most is when the people who do change the skin tones of these characters to be darker claim they are 'fixing' the design. I don't have a problem with people making fan art of a character where the skin tone is different, it's when they claim that the way they changed the character is how the character 'should' look. At the end of the day, it's fan art. It's not canon, it's not fixed, it's a reimagining of the original character. If those scummy 'art fixers' understood that it's just a reimagining and not the 'intended' character, in the same way that changing a character's height or eye colour or hair style is.
I really hate the double standard of twatter users and corporations in Hollywood where it has become "Okay' to blackwash white characters like Ariel or Japanese characters like Deku but as soon as someone "whitewashes a character" it becomes a huge issue.
@@NakanoMiku-chan-z2m yup. And I think many are noticing the issues on hand at Japan side, and are now pushing it back. I think the problem is they are pushing their ideal that it is fine to black washing but not the other way around, and went ahead to do to many works and claiming it as fixing…
@@NakanoMiku-chan-z2m problem is that they didn’t think what they did was just another form of racism, and many who realized the problem of black washing, are now either back pedaling or stepping back from doing so. But some still think it is alright to do so…
